I would suggest searching for a replacement fairing in place of trying to repair that one. With the constant air pressure, temperature changes and amount of vibration the front fairing goes through, I would be a VERY reluctant in trying to patch it up with any type of ABS glue, then pay again to repaint it, only to find the wind and or vibration at 70 MPH cracked it again.. Just my 2 cents which ain't worth a nickle...

Phone problems...Heck throw it in the washing machine..that will take care of it for good. Cant believe your master cylinder took a dump on your side pocket. Look for spots of "splashes" on the plastic cowling too. Brake fluid will eat it alive.. GW should pay for all damage under your warranty.

Yea, but can it make it to Vogel........

The axel does not come from Yamaha BENT.. There is no indexing onthe rear axel of a 2nd gen, (nor on 1st Gens that I am aware of). There is only an alignment procedure of which I already explained in a previous post.

I would learn not to trust this mechanic.. If you loosen the (4) acorn nuts on drive shaft at rear hub, and install ONLY the rear axel,,and slowly tighten the acorn nuts in a pattern and rotate the axel as you do this.Once all (4) acorn nuts are tightened to spec, the axel should continue to turn freely.. I always did this before I installed the rear wheel. You can find this tech article in the tech library on the site here too. If the axel is bent you can not do this..

When you handed them your key, they accepted responsibility for not only your bike but for everything. When they handed you your key back their responsibility ended. If your helmet was damaged during the time they had your keys they are responsible. Hopefully you pointed out the damage to your helmet BEFORE you left their parking lot...if not, you may not have a case..

You have my vote, if it can be done. Great idea........

I would let the shop do it in the case the front tubes and or rim is/are bent...

The tour delux and RSV are one in the same basicaly. RSV has a fairing, toru delux doesnt. All vaccumm hoses are the same since it is the same exact motor. All hook ups and how they lroute through the bike are the same You speak of extended handle bars on your delux.. If you changed them or if someone else did, then yes I would agree there would be a difference in length but not on how they hook up. If you have the stock handle bars on your tour delux, then the cables are, as far I know, the same part number same length, and hook up to throttle grip and carbs exactly the same way. Hope this helps.. Eck

John, I send many wishes for strength and patients until your health returns. Do what the Dr. says. relax and not worry about limited riding time this year. Next year, you should be repaired and able to ride all year long.

I had a 6 x 10 enclosed with tilt rear door as the ramp. Worked great as long as you "ducked" when going into the trailer.. Ask me how I know...... Make sure the trailer is always attached to the truck or pulling vehicle - or - make sure you have supporting leveling stands under the rear ramp at aft end of trailer...ok, ask me how I know this too if you want...let me tell you, it is not very exciting to ride up the ramp door only to end up with the tongue of the trailer pointing in the air and the trailer almost flipping backwards over the top of you...this makes it very had to reach the side entrance door of the trailer when it is located in the front side of the trailer.. I installed slip free, water proof, floor covering on inside surface of ramp door and on floor of trailer. I also installed 110 volt outlets on the inside and one on the outside for my coffee pot and interior lights front and rear..also it was wired for 220 volts for that just in case need..I installed a used screen door on side entrance door so I could have some fresh air at night, and ran a small box fan to stir the air.. Work shelf in front with my tool box mounted / secured to the floor next to side entrance door for easy access.. Had a small 110 volt air compressor in rear left corner just in case.. When I sold it, the guy who bought it came over, opened the side entrance door, looked inside for a split second, turned and said: Say good buy to it for it is just what I am looking for.. and he bought it.

Bret, First, welcome aboard VR.Org Hope you enjoy the ride..and I wish you many years ahead of safe riding! Take a minute, click on the link below, and you can read all about the known problems on a 2nd gen. After reading this, dont think that everything you read will happen to your 99 RSV... Not all 2nd gens are the same... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1067 -
hope it doesnt weigh more then 10 lbs......... PS: dont forget to run the AC drain line to your bikes overflow tank....

PA. 2 brothers dead at the hands of a drunk retired cop.
Eck replied to muaymendez1's topic in Watering Hole
Some attorney will say he was "off balance" when he walked into the bar because his sugar level was off from not taking his meds...and he was having a sezure....the bar tender (paid under the table...) thought he was drunk and refused to serve him..the retired cop got back in his truck, not realizing he was in the wrong lane and the accident occurred.. innocent........your turn..prove the attorney wrong....... -
I have seen this joke many times, and I have even said it myself several times in a joking manor. The same joke can be applied to Goldwings, Yamaha's, or any other make or model. Hope no one gets offended by it or wants to leave the site over it. I had a KAW that 5% of the time was in my garage...the rest of the time I was trying to find someone to help me get if off the road.

Congrats Joe...just wait till the first time she calls you POP...your heart melts..

Slick idea....turning the top part around to lower & or to make it higher.. I like the different levels on my GW. his may be an advantage on the Ventures. Looks durable, but I have never used one to give an honest evaluation of thier product.

Hey, I'm glad that you didnt cut it off or do more damage then you did.. Just one question though... can you tell right now if your heart is beating?? (Throb, throb, throb....) My story: Years ago, I was using an air chisel cutting off the bolts on a front shock on a car. I noticed all this red stuff running down my arm, and felt no pain whatsoever.. I began looking to see where this red stuff was coming from and behold, the end of my finger (below the back side of my fingernail) was straight across... I looked on the floor and saw my finger tip ..thats when the pain started... I picked it up, wrapped it up in a red shop rag, and drove myself to the hospital where they sewed it back on.. Cant even tell except for the white line around my finger where it was cut off at.. I also have all the feeling back now..fingernail even grows like it supposed to.. And yes, I could tell my heart was beating...for a couple weeks
