I personally would buy the Yamaha light bar because this way you know it will fit correctly..Just my 2 cents.. Check into the light bar "spacer block" that fits behind the light bar. It brings the bar fwd and down. This way you do not have to remove the light bar every time you want to split the fairing for maintenance or adding accessories... The light bar is a PIT-butt when you have to remove it time and time again, and the steel allen head bolts will eventually tend to bind and that will cause you other troubles where you will have to re-tap (chase) the threads. This is a known problem with the RSV light bar. Chasing the threads is easy, but the fairing is in the way to which makes it a PIT-Butt to do...

Behind the light bar are wire connectors...pull the center plastic piece off , it just snaps on it if you have one. Then reach up under and behind the light bar and you will find about 6 male / female type connectors. One of them may be loose frome where they let the light bar "HANG" from the wires during installation... Good luck

I rode Dec 1st (yesterday) also..and I rode today...34 degrees this morning.. I am with you ... with the heated clothes.. A VR friend from TN gave me a heated vest a couple years ago.. Man it works GREAT....!! Cant thank him enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With water running and disposal turned on, slowly drop a few handfulls of Ice Cubes down the disposal...this keeps the blades cleaned and sharpened...

Place a small piece of 3/8 ply wood that is 12 inches long by 2 inches wide on the right side of the jack. Slide the jack under the bike from the right side (sitting on seat/looking forward).. Align the right (farthest front) bar of the jack with the plywood along the front bottom edge of the motor. Caution. do not let the end of the jack hit the kickstand switch on left side of bike. Using two pieces of a 2 x4 (each piece being 4 inches long) place one between the left side of jack (farthest back ) and the frame of the bike. You pinch the 2 x 4 betwen the jack and the frame of the bike on each side of the reaar shock. Slowly jack it up making sure the wood is aligned. the front will come off the ground first about 3 inches then the rear whell will come off the ground. you can jack the bike all the way up now. For securing the bike, I always placed a jack stand under my rear shock and "slowly" and carefully lowered the jack where the rear shock is touching the jack stand. This helped support the bike where it wold nto rock forward and backward. Just remember to jack the bike "up" to remove the jack stand before you lower it when your done.......

Ponch, Hi my friend. Just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers today. I see where you get to go home today for an hour or two.
