Safe idle speed below spec of 950-1050?
Eck replied to Lug Nut's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I am most likely wrong here, but I think the oil pressure would be the same at idle as it is at 80mph, but if it changes at all at a higher RPM, I would think it is minimal. OK all you mechanics, jump all over me.... ............. Appears normal oil pressure is between 44psi to 50psi OilPressureSpecs.jpg oilmaxpressure.jpg -
Go ahead and sell them to anyone who wants them buddy. It would be cheaper for me to just continue buying them locally when I need one I think. Many many thanks though for thinking of me!!

How much are you asking for them Hummingbird? (You can send me an email if you wish with your reply). I'm afraid that by the time I purchase them from you and then add the postage to get them here, that I may be paying more for them than what they would be worth... make that old plastic dash, etc, look new

I would agree that the oil in the peanut butter would most likely bring a shine to just about anything it is used on. I am thinking though, that it would not be wise to use on a motorcycle or small trailer if you are one who camps out.. Now I could be wrong, but I would think the "smell" of the peanut butter would attract / draw some very curious characters from out of the woods..(just my 2 cents worth).- 26 replies

From my search, my understanding is that the MP just means "Master Pac" (Case) containing a quantity of 12 oil filters. My first thought was, it meant: Media-Paper (MP).

Hope the hand heals well for you my friend. Eck

Is this what you are looking for when your asking where is the sun? We have it down here...I got a little SUN BURNT today......................Ah heck, no I'm not...

Lug Nut, Just a suggestion here. If you find you might end up chucking parts, how about giving some thought towards donating them to @DragonRider so he can auction them off for the children at St. Judes?

I have a wal mart battery in my G-Wing now and have had it for 2.5 to 3 years now with no problems at all, but I don't know the actual name brand off the top of my head without going out to the garage and looking at it. The GW doesn't give one much warning (if any) when the battery goes bad. I rode to work one day and when I came out to go home the bike would not start. Dead!.. Had to call the wife to come and get me and the closest place to me (in no-where Iuka, MS.), to get a battery was Wal-Mart. My wing had an Odyssey battery in it when I bought it.

@brummers, thanks for posting such a good clear detailed photo related to your fix. It will sure help others clearly understanding what they could do to eliminate that "free space" between the chrome visor and headlight. Nice job!!

I get the FREE windows 10 pop up every time I turn on my lap top, but I am still afraid to pull the trigger.. I'm not even close to being the computer expert you are. I'm happy staying with the windows 7 right now and by the time I get the nerve to pull the trigger it will probably be Windows 15......

The chrome visor can move to the right & left when installed, but it should NOT be real loose. If it is real loose then something is not right. You can remove the small chrome ring around the headlight and put some tape on the edge of the chrome visor to 'take up space" then re-install it which will tighten it up. As for the chrome trim under windshield, check this tech link out and see if this may be your problem. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?516-Repair-of-chrome-windshield-trim Here is another tech link on that same chrome trim piece: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?20293-Repairing-Your-Broken-Fairing-Windshield-Tabs Here is a helpful technical link that addresses most all KNOWN problems on the RSV and what to look for, tighten and check on your ride. Hope this info helps bud. Eck

That is one very neat looking trailer, and I agree it would be neat as heck at the VR.O M&E's and rallies.

Now that's funny.... Sure am glad it wasn't the other way around with you hitting him in the rear.. Glad you and he is OK an no one was really hurt bad out of it.

Screw type hose clamps and or those "squeeze" type hose clamps are never used on any brake line that I am aware of unless some jerk put it on in hopes of selling a bike, which is possible. Never know what one does just to sell an item anymore. All trust is gone. Brake lines under pressure use fittings.

I find it very pleasurable when someone pulls up in our driveway on a bike or cage, gets off our out of it, only to find out that they are one of our VR family members. Please know that each of you are always welcome... anytime ...in Alabama....preferably with a heads up notice (out of respect)..Just come on by!

So sorry to hear you lost the electrical smoke from your truck SilverT. This may be of some help, but then again it may not..

Painted the tank today back to it's original two tone colors, Orange & White. Put the New decal on it that I had made at a print shop here in Huntsville. Going to let the tank dry for the next couple days since it is 100% humidity here. I still have to mount the charger plug in the hole on the right side of tank and wire it up, and wire up the amp meter and ignition switch to the small square plate in pic, and then mount that plate to top of tank. I am no painter by any means, but I feel it turned out OK for being my first time at ever doing a masking / two tone paint job with spray cans of paint.

@Vanriver, I think I would have had to rebuild the car itself. Hard to find those oldies in such nice shape. Your bar is going to be one of a kind. Great job! Let us all know when it is done so we can have VR.Org Meet & drink at your place!

Your a great guy Gary to help the man out and be there at the hospital for hours to support him during this time. Barrycuda said it all: you are a good friend and we need more people such as you on this planet... The hit & run jerk must have a cousin down here in Alabama... driving a blue Mustang....
