  1. Got mine just now. The Heap is still up on the lift(rectifer upgrade) and will be installing next week. Thanks Zach.
  2. Depends on the year. I searched for and found a 1300 non Royale, 86 that I'm still overhauling/ refreshening. I believe in its twighlight years there was only Royales. Just make sure the plastics are not broken- especially the tabs on the front halves. I was impressed with the performance of this 101k km bike. Its narrow at the pegs, love that. If it has the radio/electronics on either side of the fairings its a Royale. I didn't want all that old tech and up high weight anyway
  3. Rancho shock boots # 1953, black. Red and blue too. Worked well after some trimming on my DR650.
  4. The new to me 86s airbox is flooded with oil, and leaked all down the valve cover. Oil separator is in the works. I fab'd up one for my worn turbo 2.3 ford lima motor and the amount of goop that ends up in there is nasty. Used an inverted pcv valve to let out pressure and when in vacuum the valve shuts and its closed loop. Aluminum water bottle with o ring top, ss wool stuffed full, inlet a few inches from the bottom and return just below the neck and 3/4" hose. Tried an air compressor air water seperator but it was just not up to the task. Its perfect for the 86 tho...
  5. Caliper banjo bolts right? Reuse them with new crush washers. What will you be doing with the rear portioning valve? There's a good kit that has all the needed bits from a vendor here that I recommend.
  6. Why from Mark of course..... After reading many posts here, I found that Mark made these in the past. Contacted him thru his site and I ordered one. http://marksperformance.com/ I still haven't retrieved it, perhaps Monday.
  7. How did this work out? In using a new brake MC and it has only brake light switch which is only 2 wires. Mine is not a Royale so no other wires to worry about just the low level brake fluid sensor. So after looking at the schematic link, I went out and turn the key. Going thru its pre start test the brake light stayed lit up. Stripped back the wires and joined them together. Fixed.
  8. Glad to here its going well with the not smoking. I m picking up my new Marks collector tomorrow from my US shipping address and will take pics. My 86 has a leaky collector too mostly from rust so I can't wait to get this on.
  9. Link to this fix? Might need to do this soon
  10. Not many listed for sale and I'm looking for a one with a black pad to fit my 86. Seen one so far off a 1200 but its rough and will it bolt on?
  11. Sad to hear what your brother did to his family but its to your benefit and can experience a truly different side of riding. All standard visors fog up but there's pinlock systems for various makes of helmets that work well. Earplugs are cheap and do help with the high frequency wind noise and shouldn't be ignored. Wind noise causes tinnitus and just wears you down. That being said.... Helmets are like footwear -function, size, graphics and cost Since I have a spectrum of bikes (DR650,Bandit 1200-very similar to the 919!,Venture 13 and XV750)with helmets/visors/cheekpads for each all I can say is get what fits you properly and you can add to it. Shoei Quest,Fly Trekker, Caberg enduro flip up and a Bell MX9 Adventure are on the shelf and each one works for certain rides and were all bought on sale and over time. I can only get my mellon into a few helmet brands so time should be spent at a bike show or perhaps at many shops trying on various brands. Have fun!
  12. Looks great. Will paypal straight away...
