rear wheel needle bearing
coffy replied to coffy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Cheers mate, Thank you -
can anyone here inform me which way the needle bearing on left side of rear wheel is installed into the rim, as the needle bearing has an oil seal built into only one end of it, so not sure if it is seal end is installed facing in or facing out, but if facing out there is also another bearing seal which presses in as final seal, all help appreciated!! j

Rear wheel bearings and seals
coffy replied to Snaggletooth's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hi .been reading your post with the dilema you had with the needle bearing, I had a local machinist push them out, my only problem now is i am not sure which way to push needle bearing back in, as it has a seal built into one end of it, does the seal end go in first which i imagine it does, or does seal end go in last , ceetainly do hope you can answer my question for me, Regards John -
Hi, just wondering if anybody can help with my question, I have had the rear wheel bearings pressed out of wheel by a machinist, but problem i have now is that i need to know which way the needle roller bearing which press's into the left drive side of hub, as one end of bearing has a seal built into it, i asked machinist which way it came out when pressed, he not sure as a staff member in workshop did it, so does seal face in or does it face out, I might add that there is also a seal theat press's in after seal, all help appreciated

I'm seriously considering adding a sidecar - serious input appreciated

This is my Royal star with sidecar in Australia, it is a very wide setup, but handles beautifully out on the open road, would be happy to answer any questions for you.
