Calling electrical gurus
snyper316 replied to Bassett's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Well you could take all that wiring away and order connectors and the colored wire for the tci box so that at least stays true to the electrical and I imagine it wouldn't be to hard to wire up your simple wiring for your lights and horn. Just my input. Hell with that crazy mess... o yeah and your stator and fuel pump. -

Every time Zag post pictures of his bike I am sitting here wishing I had the skill to build something like that. Which I am pretty sure it couldn't have taken that much skill. I sure do love to look at his bike tho!! -

Well I wouldn't give up on it just yet, just watch ebay for the parts your needing. Is the air shock still there at all? I look at ebay just about daily just for a cheap spare part here and there. I know they can be frustrating but heck you got yours free. I paid 1350 for mine because it had a fork seal leak and the headlight error. Purchase February 12th 2015. March of 2016 I sunk another 1300 into it, the rest has been cheap stuff here and there. If you have fired the bike and it runs at least you know what your end game is. Can't tell you not to give up all I can say is this Venture you loved as a kid deserves the respect you can give it. -
Did you ever get that Cow bell? Gotta love them Gremlins.

I have been watching the process and finished off my yamahammer today!!! I think I will get alot better gas mileage witout all the wiring and such. Installed quite an interesting horn:Avatars_Gee_George:, it sure does sneeze alot too:Bunny2: maybe running rich on alf alfa. I will try next trip with a 1/4 tank of hay mixed in. Keep them pictures coming Bassett just wished I could figure out why all our pictures are turning sideways. Maybe if we tilt our computers first and then post the pictures not sure tho.... -
I have seen them listed on craigs list for 6-8 depending on year and mileage. I have only came across one less then 5. only reason I know is I have been looking for a straight up cargo trailer and end up coming across a ton of motorcycles under trailers...

Did I miss something somewhere I thought it was illegal to fire someone who is under the care of a physician? That isn't right but I have heard of companies pulling that crap here in Missouri, they can fire you for simply dieing your hair blue.... which is silly in the first place but to be fired over it is not right. I hope your brother continues to keep the BIG C away.

Hey he got me on this one the other day, His truck is fuel injected and has a pump in the tank.... I thought it was an older truck also just shows how long Frito's truck kept the same design...

I still wished flickr wouldn't have deleted my photos I used to have in Yahoo!!! Because I had a Plymouth Voyager I stuck black light and christmas lights that would beat to the music it was pretty awesome. But as Picture police say it didn't happen if there is no proof...... -

Damn I have been trying to find a way to do that Jeff...... Believe it or not but I want to attach it in there to the slider so when it comes out it appears brighter!!! would that be cool enough to put that thick plastic we used in shop to make things maybe go with a colored clear plastic. I have always wanted to light things up problem is on that carb it would take some fidgeting to get the plastic just right to allow slider to move freely. Ah your the king of snow and king of lighting so I guess will leave that one to you... I will just stick to illuminating the ground, Actually a cool Idea tho. I thought about painting my covers a florescent color and running a black light in the frame rail. also thougth abotu a splatter job on the bike and doing it with black lights too but thought that would look ugly in regular daylight..... -

Stay away from Mexican food, might help... Sounds like my kind of adventure, it gets better since you have a bike on you so it can't be that bad. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.

Unless you have my tach, mine is lazy... It hates cold and sticks.. Below 45°F.. Above 50°F its a happy tachy. But my bike runs good just the tach is truly goofy. Gonna switch that out tonight from the dash I just got, thinking bout renaming venture cruise to venture boost indicater.... Living life one curve after the other. Heck he made this far south I would take truck to shop have them pull tank and check for light debree that floats until low enuff it gets sucked to fuel line and clogs it up. But while there fiddling with truck get on that bad boy scooter and ride!!! Heck with the truck, or find a place that you can store it for a few bux a month and fix it when your done with the trip. Might be cheaper to store it temporarily tho because some places charge 45 a day just for a vehicle to sit after there done working on it. versus 60 a month for storage. Just my Nickels worth.
