  1. Lol A good reason to go chase some taco's in Tulsa LOL. We don't have a Jack in the Box here in Joplin. Too bad you aren't a bit closer I can't guarentee how much help I could be other then telling you what color you have in that cylinder but it could be an option... depending how next month looks. Or what the old lady wants to do. Umm Where is the crickets playing there little feet and a very very confused look lol... So fogging is where I take trani fluid and dump it into a cylinder trying to free it up...
  2. What state are you in? I bought Morgan carbtune carb sync and colortune plug. It would be interesting to see inside that cylinder. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  3. Well there is a guy who sells the engine rebuild and the carb rebuilds CD and he tells you in that video to replace the idle jets you. His reason is pretty simple he cleaned carbs previously and thought he had the jets good but they still gave him hell so best to just do it once. I am sure someone has the info about the cds I have them somewhere but don't remember what thread it was in.. we are trying to help you knock out the possiblities and also have you got your mixture screws out? Or do they still have the stupid caps over them. I am not too certain on the newer Ventures but I would imagine you still can gain access to those by drilling out the cap.
  4. Your name Danny by chance... LOL bet you got a huge ass garage..
  5. I have been searching High and Low for my favorite car from my past was a 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix SSJ it was a beaut and she would cruise smoothly at 80+. I had to really watch the speedometer on her, she had a dent just behind drivers side door jam when I bought her and I played heck trying to get it pulled out. She developed a shim when going down the road I was told internal vaccuum leak and it would cost more to fix her then what she was worth... BOY Were they wrong it turned out to be a very very Rare breed of the Grand Prix. I have been aimlessly searching for her since. Probably can't afford her anyway if someone knew what they had. http://oldcarbrochures.org/index.php/NA/Pontiac/1979_Pontiac/1979-Pontiac-Grand-Prix-SSJ-Folder/1979-Pontiac-Grand-Prix-SSJ-Folder-01
  6. What is fogging? Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  7. Sounds kinda like blocked passages did you rebuild the carbs ? If so do you replace the idle jets? How did you clean the carb body? But there is air getting in there somewhere. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  8. 3000rpm and above Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  9. How does she run off idle? Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  10. Sounds like my bike when I first got her she was all stock and very lean setup. The enricher is the choke. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  11. But since you do have exhaust leak I would fix that too. But as he said your fuel issue too. Another crazy thing too could be a short in safety features that causes an intermittent kill. Like you drive your vehicle down the road and turn the key off with the engine still turning and turning it back on to create a backfire. I used to do that with my 76 ford pu I was young and dumb. But it is funny when it sounds like a big gun shooting. I wouldn't do that stuff now days tho. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  12. It actually can be a number of things. Ignition timing, fuel and exhaust. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  13. What I had thought exactly. Worth a try to get that area fixed. Can you get a picture of this crome cover your talking about? My gaskets didn't seem that bad either when I replaced them but there is no more back fire. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  14. I think it was a very serious question, when I lose something sometimes I take days looking for it, very seldom do I find it then. Trust me when your not looking for it you will probably find it, Right where you Lost IT!!:rotf:
  15. you lost me, if you got back fire on 4 how is 2?
  16. I chased a backfire on tinker, Rbig1 and Yammer kept telling me it was exhaust if it was on decel, but sometimes it did it on idle too... I replaced the exhaust gaskets and it went away, anything extra close to the engine will creat a back fire I went thru my carbs and finally went with what i was being told and it indeed fixed my problem..
  17. They show up on mine Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  18. Seen these up at Carthage Missouri. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  19. Wow I took this whole thread lightley and the way the guy worded it about his nurse coming to change him... he put spacing between the words as in for a punch line I thought, once you have been around for a bit you will figure out where the banter is. Which is what I trully believe it was... seemed as it was someone telling a joke with a complete straight face. Me on the other hand I crack up so it gives it away... Then there are those that joke but want you to think they are dead serious...
  20. So let me get this straight you came to Missouri again and did not stop and harrass me! What gives.. btw If you grew up in missouri you would know You just put the bike or 3-4 wheeler in second gear and open the throttle and dont let up and you would tread water just fine...
  21. I haven't seen it yet but know she is capable of 100 in second just not something i want to do to mine. I have had mine to 85 in second dont know rpms I just know i let off the throttle and felt like i hit the brakes till about 55 lol.... Good ol Varmint would have chimed in about 110 in second was it correct me if I am wrong guys.. Miss the crazy ol varmint... Ride on and keep the rubber side down
  22. Dang you all up in washington but I have had some interest in one...
  23. I am also curious what happened... But I am also curious on what is going on with his brother... that was a mess for sure I believe the guy was in the right...
  24. Rt 62 is the same way quite a few 15-25 mph curves. But they was fun and scenery was breathtaking at least what I saw I was to occupied with keeping her on the road. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
