  1. I will have to definately try this theory. I am thinking mine does shut off after a couple of clicks. Because when I had my carbs off I forgot about the gas still being on and it only pumped a few seconds but after I realized what I did I turned the key back off... So I will test this in the morning by hooking hose to outlet and stick it in gas can just to see...
  2. No wonder mike is a kick butt rocking machine it dont shut up lmao!!!
  3. Yeah well you may not have but...
  4. Yeah It just didn't feel right reaping rewards from your mishap
  5. Cant you purchase back from Insurance?
  6. I would assume when you disconnect grip side once you start lubing the cable when it gets to the end of the first cables it would get up inside that wheel... just a thought tho, I lubed mine with 0-20w oil and a baggie with a corner cut out. One set on throttle grip and the other set from the carbs. But they weren't connected in the first place. I was putting in a used set and couldn't see a better time to do this....
  7. Well called the boneyard. Your friend evadently gonna run into one problem, Availability of parts. The guy told me that by the time he gets one it is done wore out with lots of miles well over couple hundred thousand, I would suggest keep an eye on Ebay is your best bet, because he can search the whole earth for one there.
  8. I am thinking @cowpuc talked about getting a syringe from a farm store and opening the drain and cycling it in and out of the carbs? Then Freebird posted a write up about using chemtool straight the carbs, here is the link to that. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?1061-Carburetor-Maintenance

  15. If you do let us know how you did it because well, it is expensive trying to replace it. It is the thing that tells your bike what to do and when to do it. Unless your talking about the one up front and you won't need it if your doing all your lights and other stuff, but will suck for you if you dont watch miles closely.
  16. Now here is another thing too this past summer I also replaced the wires and caps.... I had one cap that would get warm and rattle, another one that would stop sparking. The Clicking of the fuel pump shouldn't happen, if your getting a few seconds of clicking after shuting your bike off for 10 minutes that is definately fuel is getting to somewhere.
  17. I had the same issue last summer is why I asked. I haven't had it for quite some time. But It happened this past summer. It kind of acted like a vapor lock situation.
  18. Pucster was you in some trouble in that video,
  19. Just curious have you tried to push start it in this kind of dilemma? Have you tried to let it sit for an hour or two and it starts up fine?
  20. https://www.facebook.com/customdimension/videos/1439209939446737/ My best guess it isn't and I just about crapped myself watching it I am sure this guy needed a wipe.

  22. Dajavu to me I am having same exact issue but mine appears to be from #2carb its been a pita trying to track what it is. Could it be one of the rubber hoses for the carbs? I know mine was leaking there at one time. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  23. Yeah most the wiring on our bikes is 16-18 gauge. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
