85 RPM Tach running crappy on 0

Sorry to say but that mechanic does not know a thing, The tach reads off of the number 2 coil there is no wires running to your carburetor, as a matter of fact no tachs run off of the carbs!! It is more then likely a bad ground or dirty connections, if none of that after you have cleaned them up run the test thats in the tech forums. But if I was you I would not take this bike back to that shop just my opinion. -

Yeah If I could get away with it I would move my coils... Or figure out a way to weather proof them better, I have a set of 150db I was just racking my brain trying to figure out where I could place the compressor. Then you mentioned that spot, Hot damn thats it right in that little cubby where my TCI used to be. -
happy birthday to ya skid, So which is easier to remember the Wardens Bday or Skids?

There is alot of bikers, most of the lawyers here have bikes. I know at the Springfield Weather Channel a few of them ride so most of the time on the local news they say at least 20 some odd times during the reports remind people to keep an eye out for us.

Really Nice, I never thought I would go this crazy over doing stuff to My Bike, Kinda jelous tho. Mainly Its hard to get aftermarket stuff for my bike to customise it. I am getting Kenneth's put on my bike next week. I don't believe I have seen anyone talk about those tires, But its what the local shop has that will fit my bike. They have another brand but can't think of the name. I asked about the Avons and the E3's don't remember what he told me.

Heck I had trolled this thread a year before I ever joined up and I just didn't think it would fit, I do have a good one for you with all that where the airbox is wouldn't you be able to mounth the TCI on the side of the battery box? On a side not If I can mount my compresser there I think I will try to shrink wrap the wires to the connections, Man these bike horns are gonna be loud!!! -

I am no expert but it sounds like you need to clean up some electrical connections. Clean connectors at TCI and all connectors you can get to. spend the $12.00 on the site because it is a wealth of knowledge. If after all that read up on first gen tech read only thread. I believe it says something like TCI trouble Yes or No and TCI testing Info. -

Only on a vehicle not a bike. I thin its set up slightly different. -
I can care less if your in the north pole or not, You still have to look both ways before pulling out in the road. It is common sense, anymore tho its like O lets pull out in front of this Truck, he will slow down I am in a fiat. People amaze me.... Or its vise versa

So you know what happened, I put that Silverstar Right back in there and:motorcycle:!! Can't complain tho I like the silverstars

Yeah well I am just curious if you tried to follow like the grey wire or the blue and white wire to see where it leads, I know the red and white wire comes on with the key, Black is usually for ground so I would try to follow the other wires... -
Well you know they do take go go juice, For some reason everytime someone post to this thread here I get a notification on my phone....

I cleaned mine with that CRC stuff and A toothbrush that came with my brush set, thats How I clean the switches up.... You died what? -
It is kind of Ironic you would post this as we don't have to worry about losing control, But that Bad Boy has been Used Alot this past week, I have more lights and strobes going and this stupid woman pulls out in the road and takes up to lanes of traffic while at a crawl making a Right turn onto the Road. There was no reason for her to turn this way, I had to go into turn lane horn a blaring and she just kept mosing out there she almost came into the turn lane. Granted going 30 mph in town had plenty of time to react but me not trusting people I had already switched lanes and prepared for her to pull out just wasnt prepared for her to be going slow and take up two lanes....

Now tracing this on the schematics I have the only exception and difference is the L/W wire, mine shows L, R/W, B, G that is the fuel pump relay? This is also going off of a 1984-1985 wiring schematic.
