I had been a ford man up till about 6 yrs ago after I got my S-15 then the Jimmy still half own a 97 ford mustang but I like Chevy just don't know much about them... 4. Well if you know what the rattle of mains sound like... But it didn't do it today so heck if I know. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  5. 244372 , what the heck does it do? Cause up to you got valves and the rockers that control the valves then you have on bottom end is lifters and the crank shaft... Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  6. I can't even find the engine under the hood!!! This is why I wanted spare vehicle just in case I needed to put it in the shop.... Hopefully it hold out till next tax season mechanics want 80-120 an hour. Forgot to mention no engine code. Cam bearing? Wouldn't that be bottom end? Living life one curve after the other. 7. Ok OK I give I pulled the carburetors today. PITA to get the push cable removed. Needless to say @rbig1 suggested maybe a scratch in the float needle. Well low and behold I pulled the needle out and was looking at under sunlight and noticed a ring around mid section of the point and another scratch going diagonally , I haven't put them back on yet but replaced the bowl drain oring and bowl gasket. wet checked float levels and they are the same level. So after I eat lunch I will put them back on and cross my fingers I can get the push cable back in where it goes....
  8. We got 80 degrees today prayers for ya skid Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  9. Lol you guys are 👿 yeah it is more of a knocking noise. I almost, I have had rods knocking b4 that noise don't go away this one does after about 3-5 minutes. I just changed the oil less then 2000 miles ago.... Didn't see any sparkles in the oil... Ha I am currently trying to get ahead of @Yammer Dan but due to noise may turn around and go 🏡. 12. Small world... Might want to check out his thread and take over where he left off. I need to find a tahoe forum because my truck is making heck of racket when it first started in the morning someone told me knock sensor but I am not the one who will go to auto parts store looking for blinker fluid. Also I got scared when I looked under the hood when I was thinking of buying it took me a week and cross my fingers nothing goes wrong.. Too much tech under there... 13. Ok at this point I am thinking something crazy going on... I filled my truck up but for some reason last 2 tanks I have gotten 11 mpg its knocking when I first start it, the venture had a mysterious leak. The rebel was getting a measly 71 miles to tank of gas.... And everyone and there brother been having carb problems... Now I would expect 12 miles to a gallon in town from a 5.3 vortech but I haven't been driving it in town... Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  14. Nope I don't believe so it kinda lays there in mine I was gonna put my aftermarket there but thought against it.. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  15. I would think depending on where his TCI box is. he can put it back in that way.... I was routing wire in mine and that piece moved. so I would say good possiblity.
  16. My question would be how the carbs hook up.. I am thinking the mk2 had a different choke setup. But there is a vacuum advance nipple on the 83-85 carbs. I would assume it would be ok to just plug the nipple it is on the number 2 carb.
  17. Another update while I was tinkering around and what not. Moved the TCI Box to the inside of right side inner fairing beside the glove box. Mounted it IN there with to screws. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  18. Took airbox off today and road it around and did some other stuff no wet boot put airbox back on road around no wet boot but came back out and had a wet boot..... Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  19. Dang that's alto of weight maybe ill get the kids there sand they want, the shop charges more if I bring my own tires.. Now if I go to dealer they will do it for 50 for both and that is the only way they will touch it... Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  20. That is crazy I know Russia is pretty cold so is Canada though Alaska had ice roads and in parts you had to depend on a train to take you in and out of town. And bush pilots or is TV showing me what they want me to think, what next voices in my head..... Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  21. I have always gotten something and put it in my name right away... However new laws and regulations do not allow me to do this. I have to take it to inspection station and get an inspection before I can even get a title put in my name..... so due to this I am sitting on a bike that I have to fix before I can register it..... top that they charge $50 a month in title penalties now and up to $400. This is what I was told by someone but haven't verified it used to be $25 a month and up to $200 max.... needless to say this bike is gonna cost me aditionally because I have to wait on parts. and until I have went thru it completely I wont know if I need anymore parts. Right now I am working on the tripple tree I lost the bearings and noone could get the part before My first 30 days is up.... Wished bearucrats would leave well enuff alone...
  22. Back to drawing board but I am almost betting on bad bowl gasket if not the rear bowl drain, this will be the first time pulling carbs with both cables hooked up but think I will try @cowpuc suggestion I am just tired of pulling them.... 23. Why would someone have a bike in Alaska that I would say is the wrong venture for that neighborhood Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  24. .... This is what I have been saying for years... I have the experience just not the piece of paper.... Also things are constantly changing by the time you go to get "Certified" to do something we are already on new tech... Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
