Well I was gonna mount them under my trunk. But since they would not work anyway I went I ended up just switching out the flasher for an Led Flasher. The front ones I actually mounted on the frontal fairing bracket on a flat piece of metal. Are you wiring the resistor across the positive and negative wire? for some reason a frame ground will not work. My lights with all four leds and four resistors flashed about 6-8 times a minute. I think they were blinking very slowly. As to this I got all my bulbs from Oriley Auto. They do price match Wal-Mart also... Don't matter the brand unless Wal-Mart stocks that Brand. Now as for Autozone there stuff for some reason would not work, got the same bulb or so I thought at Oreily and it works just fine in my Brake Lights. The only bulbs I got off for my dash you can get on Ebay But the polarity has to be right so I just installed all the bulbs with the key turned on that way I knew when I had them in correctly. I am still trying to make sense of a write up I found for making the 83 blinkers work with LEDS and have Cancelling unit. Just so You know MattK I snipped my cancelling unit wire that ran to the flasher, then ran the earth side to the body ground where I had one resistor mounted. But I had to buy the Flasher for 4-6 LED bulbs, I can not mix my bulbs it says. I have no resistors plugged in what so ever I think I may still have the one resistor in the right side unless I took it off when I took the fairing off when I mounted my aftermarket TCI box in the right Fairing Inner mount. But that one is not hooked up I just snipped the wires by removing the turn signal. It is gonna be hard for me to get any pictures this week if the kids don't go to school tomorrow. They called it off today because one of the schools being destroyed, they are talking possibly not having school the rest of the year:think: all these schools here they can't build them fast enuff to keep up with all the kids, all the classes are maxed out.. so there trying to figure out what to do with all of them. Wouldn't suprise me if they haul in modular classrooms for Goodman Elementary Unless they had some of those too. If so well might as well kiss my Bike projects and other project bye bye till this Fall...

Yeah he was there the day of the Joplin Tornado, never heard weatherman cry on Tv before.... That was surely a scary day, Jim came in behind the tornado... he was so overwhelmed by what he was seeing. Gary on channel 16 was telling everyone to take shelter and crying I watched it all unfold on TV, That tornado all you seen was black and power flashes. I love my snow but everything else they can keep. Unfortunatly it was nice outside when I left so I left Tinker setting outside figured I would put her up when I got back.. I am just glad that noone was seriously injured.

Canada to Cancun on the 250$ Venture - The full ride report
snyper316 replied to jfman's topic in Watering Hole
I second this, but without the hotels just you and the bike camping.... -
So tonight my youngest boy had a concert tonight, We get done from that and its lightning like crazy and just a little bit of a drizzle. Head on over to Save A Lot to get some Bologna for sandwiches and them some yogurts, While we are there we have a short burst from the Tornado Siren. Then it quit then all the sudden the electric starts flickering there Radio goes out in the store. They can't ring anybody up, so look at my phone and see it is pretty lit up. I am thinking we have a couple minutes to make it down to the school. Get the Two little ones in the truck well kinda helped them both in as it was starting to Hail we end up getting stuck in the truck with golf ball sized hail. I had already been hit by something on my head, back and shoulders. While I am sitting in the truck I just happen to look at my shoulder because It was Ice Cold!!! Kinda odd looking hail but it was about as big as a golfball but kinda like little hail stones meshed together like a snowball. I had looked off to my south and noticed a lowering of like a mothership Cloud. with a funnel slightly below it, It was Beautiful but at the same time you knew it was not a good thing. First time I have seen one so well defined in my area. Most of the ones that come thru are rain wrapped you just can't see them. The Hail let up and left me an opening to go on home. As I was headed there I felt the truck start to shake and felt as if it had lost power then all the sudden all kinds of alerts and alarms starting going off along with a Tornado Siren I hit the brakes and made a left hand turn onto a road that leads to the High School I whip in there to head for there Fema Shelter once again being pelted by hail. So ended up staying at the Fema Shelter for 30 minutes waiting out the storms. Started hearing A report of the Cloud I looked at was the one that hit Goodman Mo which is about 5 miles south of Neosho. There Elementary School and the Fire station both were hit pretty hard by it. There is alot of Damage in Goodman. The loss of power in my truck and all the funny things I felt in it was due to another Tornado touching down by Crowder College Area, Not sure of all the damage there but I do know it was making a treck for Benton Elementary School here in Neosho, that would be in the area of where I had taken a walk in the park and got the picture of that WWII Helicoptor. Thankfully a Report of Broken Bone in Goodman so far and maybe some bumps and scrapes. Of course lot of roof Damage, But 2 Tornadoes in one Newton County tonight. It was quite eventful. They say that cloud I saw hanging low is the one that produced both Tornado's. I tried to get ahold Of my Friend Jeff over in Goodman to check on him but got a recording saying he couldn't be reached the electric here came on shortly after I got done talking to @Flyinfool in chat. Was slighlty worried till the News came on and reported about Goodman. But I guess this same system is Trekking southeast of me Tomorrow. It is barely into April and Fireworks were definatly popping tonight. You all in Southern States stay safe and keep an ear on the weather. I really haven't been its kinda like ok just another thunderstorm... It was definatley an Eye Opener tonight, I think I will start turning the Tv on out in my shop instead of just jamming out to some Ol Country.. Have A good one and Ride safe and stay safe.

I have Leds in my 83 but at the cost of my canceling unit. All that happened was that I cut the wire about 2 inches from the plug. I can always put my wire back together and go back to incadescents. The resistors worked but put a strain on the system plus I didn't like how hot the things got. I should have video up on what I did somewhere. But like I said I lost my canceling unit.

That is good, There is a guy who modified a bike and uses a pillow as a seat...

Well I'll be I have a motion pro sync pro myself, I got one use out of it and the second time I tried to use it I was syncing the gauges and one tube emptied out. I wished I would have known of the simple fix so think I will order the restrictor and go get new vacuum line and fix mine. I ended up buying the Carbtune Sync tool and the Colortune. Because it was my second motion pro over the fluid I figured I either did not know how to use it or the bike had too much vacuum for it. I liked how steady the fluid was and the fact I could sync the gauges themselves....

Well when I took my road test at age 15 they gave me hearing, sight, and sign test then onto the road. I don't know when they took the hearing test away but did notice when I got my M endorsement they no longer had the headphones there just had you look into the tester which was just road signs, and where the red light blinked. Then you go over to DMV and they had some letters in theres wanting to know what lines I could read. It all used to be included for the sum of your license. I do know if you don't pass at the DMV you have to go to your eye Dr and have him fill out a form then you get the Eye Glass restriction. So you can be fined if your pulled over and don't have your glasses on. About 5 or so years ago Missouri thought it would be a good Idea for them to Issue Permanent licenses for people over 60. Last I heard they settled at 65 and its a 10 yr license at 7.50. But with all laws in Missouri they seemed to be added to or taken from every year. They have been pushing to try and get a law passed about using your phone without bluetooth. But for some reason it never seems to make it to our Governors. I am thinking there is a law right now saying I can use my phone while driving but If I am under 18 its a hefty fine. Kinda counter productive as I have had to swerve many times in the 4 lanes here in town because some lady yapping on her phone inching towards me. Honk your horn at them and they give you a dirty look, its even Dirtier when I am on Tinker...

Maybe I should have been more into what I was getting at. I should be more exact I guess this couple was in there 80's. It is highly illegal to have earbuds in or headphones on while driving a car. You are also not supposed to blare your radio either while it is in motion. Now it has been 25 yrs since I looked at missouri drivers book but that is what was in there. Sorry was not trying to offend anyone here but most of you are not my idea of old.... maybe older so I see the point. But again I can usually read what little old ladies are gonna do.... or not do, rather be behind them then a drunk or someone texting... My hole point was basically I have more problesm in one day with People thinking that there in a phone booth then I have had with drunks and little old ladies in my lifetime.

How to use Seafoam
snyper316 replied to MattK's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Honestly I think they were 1 or so a pack and they come in packs of 5 I only used 1 so got the spares. Just send me a message with it, I could be off on price but if your radio shack is in the next county like mine, It took me a minute to get over that way and it is so so so nice not seeing a flashing beacon on the dash when there is nothing wrong:Avatars_Gee_George:. -
How to use Seafoam
snyper316 replied to MattK's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey I have 1.2k and 2k resisors I may be off on the numbers a hair but if its for the battery I can mail you two of them if you want. The seafoam I would put maybe half of the can in now. Then at every fill up put about 2-3oz in it. I use a 50 cent shot glass at Walmart, there an ounce and can't go wrong doing that. I will also throw in a piece of heat shrink tubing. -
Yeah and blood stained car at the high school where both occupants lost there heads was still not enough to stop get some kids to stop texting. I do wonder how some go about there daily lives without the damned things I have seen some people staring out there phones crossing the road, I also wonder if a pedestrian steps out in front of me on my bike and I run them over and they cause me to hurt myself real bad. Who's fault is it?

What the Heck
snyper316 replied to SpencerPJ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Chipmunks, mice. Chewed a wire or something and it is grounding against something that its not supposed to..... -
This has not much to do with topic but I have bluetooth in truck and on the bike. The other day I was taking mom to the Dr and we were behind this car that was braking and crossing the line I truly thought they were drunk had my phone getting ready to call it in. They were going to same place it was an older couple.. Mom was talking to her and the lady said she could not see very well. I am thinking with as much as one gets older they need to take driving test once a year and vision test every six months. Maybe even hearing test. Just my opinion, I have had my share of close calls with them. But more so texters then drunks and little old ladies combined... Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

Last and Final on My LED endeavor I added a headlight after finding a mounting frame for the venture so I could hack it up if needed, Had to hack it up I will put finishing touches on it later, Talked to @Flyinfool one night in chat and was talking about the MK1 headlight setup, Honestly it sucked no matter how hard I tried all I seemed to get was crappy lighting. I don't know about any of you but if I am gonna be on 2 wheels I want to see at night and be seen... which is why I have added all the stuff to this bike for better visibility and to be heard if need be. Gotta love them people who think there cars are there home or offices!! So I bought this bulb off of ebay and went to hacking away at the frame. I also bought a little longer screws for the headlight frame to hold it in. . I can always go back to Silverstar light if I don't like this. Now to get back out and see where that darned wheel has ran off to this time!!

I have never heard of Clymer but I do know Haynes manuals for the most part. Sometimes I would get Chiltons for my vehicles but more often then not I ended up getting Haynes service Manuals for my Vehicles. I would rather pay $15 for a service manual and do all the work myself. I am trying to get a service manual for the Rebel but Ebay is showing the Clymer and the Haynes manuals.. Which one is the better ones for the bikes?
