sidestand relay?
snyper316 replied to Grez007's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I could be wrong, but If the relay wasn't there I wouldnt think you could start the bike at all... I have a TCI box that for some reason would allow me to do all those things, hooked up new box and it no longer allowed me to do that. Unless someone has cut the black and white wire running to your TCI box... -
silly question is it ok to use tire shine on our tires?

that would appear that is what has happened here, I would try to find out how to get the glass out of the way and move that needle.

Well in my younger days and I am not really that old, I loved the freedom I had, to see how fast I could go. The rush of when something wasn't quite right and making it to the bottom of the holler still on 2 wheels. Knowing the minute I got out of sight I could open her up and pop her in 3rd, Man what a rush. I loved that little mini Bike it was a blast to ride especially for a 7 yr old. Then at 10 got to move up to 3 wheels, don't know the cc but it was faster then my mini bike. Most of the time I would ride it on 2 wheels it was funny just doing circles on 2 wheels.. till mom got scared because of all the deaths on 3 wheelers. I still rode it till Dad came back early and found the engine warm..... he swears it was cause of rust in the tank till this day. But it was running just fine before hand.. got stuck back on bicycles and would ride them for miles. Does it count for Iron but on a 10 speed for 50 miles straight? Eventually was stuck on four wheels for a bit but got the oportunity to get a 50cc scooter and got the itch. wasnt satisfied with 50mph and 10 up hills. So got a 150cc and wow made it all the way to 70mph, wasn't satisfied wanted more and bigger and something I could take a fishing pole or something with me, didn't like the look of Goldwings, thought the Kawasaki was just kind of well funny looking. Then there it was on craigslist, Sleek looking, had saddle bags and luggage, Call about it was informed they all came off with a key. peaked my interest even more. He would pull it out of hibernation, I was ready to give that 1500 for her but was gonna try to haggle. No need I got there he had her fired up warming up, told me that he would sell her for 1350 because of the right fork seal leaking. Took her for a spin on his yard I couldn't get the money out of my pocket, No litterally I couldn't I almost dropped her trying to get off so I could pull the cash out of my pocket because I forgot about the trusty ol kickstand. After that spin around the yard and it felt like I just came across his yard in lincoln town car.. she was smooth. It was instant love for her, I have sunk a pretty penny in her but I don't care she is well worth it. Its not even about that there is something else, I think its just the ability to be able to go slow and smell the country air. look at the scenery and not worry about wondering into the wrong lane.... and when I want to just Goto WOT at the drop of a hat and be gone.. If I so want. I don't think I would get this on any other bike. Tried the Rebel but it was just too cramped to me. The other was a Road star Didn't care for it much. I guess because I had already been spoiled by the 83 Venture... I guess why I ride is just the pure Freedom, the ability to ride How I feel like I want to ride on a paticular day, and it is trully a way to clear my head. It is also very hard to smoke a cigarette while riding a bike... almost 2 months now. Feeling better each day and notice I am no longer winded by stuff I used to get winded by, I have went up and down the stairs at my house 6 times within 10 minutes, when before I would be winded just by the first landing on them. So that is definatly a plus. And now I have found out I can do most of the work on the bike myself all thanks to you guys in here. I know Cowpuc when you opened my eyes a few months ago. I decided I watched to many people close to me wither away because of tobacco I didn't want my kids to see me wither away. I want to be there for my grandkids, and not hacking up a lung to get out of a chair...

So lets get this straight, You bought two of these for the price of one Ram mount. OK I see you only bought one but I picked mine up at the shop for $64 but my Ram Mount dont have a built in charger. Not a bad buy, I did like the fact the rubber pegs on mine came with glue to help them stay on. Like the purple too!!

I have never heard of that this would be the first time ever... I actually had a 25 hp 1954 johnson motor. Might be off on the name but it was red and white and reminded me of a 57 chevy....

Well my only problem with my garage there are cracks in the floor, Only when I move everything outside do I sometimes find that elusive hardware, and sometimes my luck while I am moving stuff I hear a slight chink.. bolt or nut falling down in the cracks of the abyss.

VIN Number Locations?
snyper316 replied to Freebird's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Is this guy from Missouri Too? During inspection even tho I owned the bike, the guy had to verify the VIN, the neck and bottom of the frame on the right hand side. The guy also said on some bikes he has to verify Engine numbers..... I didn't know that even existed. But mine is not RSV -
That is an interesting question. I called a trailer place here about installing a hitch on my bike and I about fell over. Think the place quoted me 400-500 to install one. I had an opportunity to get a deep red trailer for a motorcycle up in joplin for $150. Nothing wrong with it either.

W why are you saying that? whats wrong with a Boat, I never spent a thousand on a boat but I buy the v bottom boats or flat boats. I just like to fish thinking about just getting a paddle boat with a trolling motor. small simple and big enuff for me and the two little ones

Wow, It is crazy how everything feels just like yesterday. It is almost like hey I do not feel as old as you and my Birth Certificate say I am. Even me being young and someone ask me how old I am, I actually have to think about it at times.

Just one silly question Casey, did you change out the fluid in the rear and grease everything back there too? Now you seen why I love my bike, all I ever hear from anyone who has ever owned one, is that they miss it and there fast!!! Now you were talking about maxifieing it, and One guy on here already has. Could you just imagine opening the throttle with the max kicked in. Now that has got to be a blast, However I like my venture just the way she is. I got to see the potential when I first bought mine before the gremlins got to her over the winter. It ran fine before the starter went out, just a little hard to start at times. But she went like a Bat Out Of H3ll!!!
-
On this I was talking about the upperpart where it bends down to the vented fairing. If that piece of plastic would have been extended just a little bit further into the lower fairing or another duct it hooked too to direct it out the vents. I would think there would be better airflow out the vents.

Humm I got the silly MKI and it was annoying to bleed, I like the linked brakes. But this winter you better believe I am pulling that line and replacing it with MKII line so I can have the bleeder up top. Your Right simple physics at play, but the way the valve is makes it a PITA!! Normally I have brakes bled out in 15-30 minutes depending on where I run into issues or not, most of the time I do not. Another way I bleed brakes on my vehicles (NON AntiLock) was pop all four bleeders then pulled the master cylinder cap, go inside grab a bite to eat come back out check level refill as needed. This way does take longer but it has always worked for me. Mainly the only problems I have ever ran into was plugged bleeder holes. Simple fix.. fastest break bleed was the scooters I used to own. But both masters were on the handlebars. No traveling up and around and back down, But even with that You syphon gas the hose goes up, goes back down. You jump start it and physics takes over. Which is the way I thought it would work On my 83, But in the back of my mind was thinking to myself how when the master cylinder seems like it sets lower then the end of the line.
-
Go to Oreily or Autozone maybe even walmart and get there syphon pump its like a couple of dollars and I used the hose from it to bleed my brakes, The sypon pump is not worth the plastic it is made with seemed like it is missing alot but that hose comes in handy for alot of things, also that tiny syphon funnel, works great for the rear master cylinder funnel I trimmed mine down and put it where the bolt goes in and atached then end of my small funnel to it and worked good for auto refill till I accidently dumped it over not paying attention. Just be sure to get the cheap one with clear hose and blue pump thing. I tossed the blue piece after discovering It wouldn't move some fluid I needed to move.
