Might want to use needle nose pliers to clamp down that was another issue with the rebel the connections behind the headlight was loose so I tightened the female bullet connectors and that helped. Well more then that I got lights horn and ignition back.. Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

Is there a black box behind the headlight? A 450 I wouldn't think would have much options. What about behind the battery box? Or fairly close to it. Only suggestion I have is other the obvious is trace the wiring on it. The Honda rebel I redid only had a main fuse and two other fuses and those fuses were in a small box attached to the airbox and it wasn't much bigger than a relay. Also it almost sounds like a wire is shorted somewhere on the frame.... Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

Yeah it sounds possible that something isnt seated correctly, You could have number 2 carb shut and the other 3 open some what enuff to make it race. You could be bound up somewhere in your cables. Which if you try to twist your throttle you should feel some play there. Ummm you got a heck of deal on parts bike. Sorry had to throw that in there, it can be a number of things I would first start with making sure everything is seated properly. Good luck with making your own sync, but that is another good thing to check but I have had mine way out but never had the engine racing. I did one time when my push cable was wedging the throttle open. It was broke, over Christmas I finally got a cable and replaced everything. Um the only other thing is maybe cruise is somehow not letting it to close all the way? Have fun with the bike and Welcome. -
Where Is your TCI Located on this bike? First thing I would do is go to autozone and pick up a Spark Gap Tester, unscrew top and put your cap on it and ground the aligator tip to bolt or something and fire bike up and see if it is throwing a spark,But in order to get to the coil cap you just need to remove the Reflecter aluminum piece and you should be able to unscrew that But I am almost certain the 2 front coil packs are bad about getting corroded in the end of the wires. I just cut about 1/4 to 1/2 inch and plug it back into coil.

Nope believe it or not there pumping vacuum yes but not nesarily firing... I ran on 3 cylinder for a while but had one guy keep telling me there was a miss. Its not noticeable but to someone with good ears for it yes. I chased it for a few months come to find out had two bad caps... One would start when the engine got hot and made it pain to start.... I use 1 shot of seafoam, per tank 2 to 3 per tank if I run the cheap gas. "Corn fuel" btw Compton you may want to anchor your bike down tonight. Better yet if you have basement put it in there. We gonna have some witches brew for weather... But I had carb problems ran a can of seafoam in full tank and spit sputtered and comblammed, smoked got it to 1 bar refilled and road some more. All the sudden tinker reared up and she was gone!!! The first time I had felt her raw power... Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

Nah this is just putting this out there. That you actually had time to make a video while putting two gallons in your tank. Now try putting gas in a car on the side of the road... Plus you can't empty it out either. Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

Your lucky because when I was over in Oklahoma I could have swore gas was at least 2-3 more then what it is on land. Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

The bottom can is close to what this guy had, but his was silver with handle closer to top of gas can. But those are cool. But this goes back on where you draw the line calling something antique, classic, etc.. I have been shopping for an older lawnmower with throttle on handle and adjustable carb. You know the one you could take a part and use a yoothbrush, paperclip , and good squirt of WD40 and you could clean it. Well I did find one behind me so went to check it out guy had $185.00 on it and called it classic. He is also same one who had antique gas can. I did ask him if he sold that lawnmower. He told me no one wanted to pay that tried lowballing him.. So I said so is 40 bux low? He cracked up and said that was almost as low as what people were offering but nope, he just hold onto it. First of all, Option 2 is what I would do. Second of all Shoot for the mid 30's, I am getting the Mid 30s to low 40s. But Oklahoma seems to have speed bumps every 50 feet. Very Crappy roads.... sorry I also noticed on some parts of the roads I would feel like a weeve other parts I was fine but didn't dare do the speed limits. Also I am thinking maybe you have fuel leaking from somewhere. Have you checked the lines under the Gas tank? Fuel drain screws, do they appear wet? Can you see tarnish by your Twinkie? I would check this stuff before pulling the carbs, Also double check your sync. I double checked mine after a few runs and found it off by a smudge and readjusted and went for a ride to Springfield and bakc and checked again and right on where i had set them... its worth a shot.

this is sad @cowpuc made a damn video dumping gas, not only that 2 gallons are you kidding me. I hate these gas cans with the passion I just now lost my final old style 5 gallon jug with the breather valve on it, you turn that and I can empty it in Tinker quicker then ol cowpuc got his 2 gallons moved, that is purely sad. I tried hiting garage sales but the only jug i found was a 2 gallon jug and they wanted $40 bux for it, you read that right 40bux now I find the old tin style 5 gallon one but that guy wanted 65 for it, he did manage to get 50 out of it while I was there....

I given you all crud, I have had a really really crappy day... I was doing fine till I got back home.. long story maybe some other time. Anyways I got 35mpg, but I probably lost my mpg due to having to stop 3 different times to answer the phone when oldest was calling. I was running about 3300 rpms in 5th gear. I was actually shocked I got 35 mpg...

Well something isn't right if your smelling raw gas.... Also I have those shims skydoc sells, they do help lean things out. I tried them on tinker and she didn't like then one bit... But that won't help with smelling gas. Where in the Ozarks were you? We didn't get a drop of rain today but the Ozarks could be anywhere from me to Jeff city Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk
