I am not sure if it is really rubber but that was the first thing I did was replaced all orings, rubbers, gaskets, and diaphragms. O and gave the carbs a good bath in Chemtool and carb cleaner rinse then blew all passages out with Air hose. Just what I would do but my Diaphragm assemblies were pretty hard with some kind of film on them even had to scrape some of them out with a small screw driver.

Now you bring up video games... The generation buying bikes now got misrepresented on the baggers all them show or feel as if the bagger is a slow ads non fun bike. They get on the twins and there fun. Then you got the crotch rockets and those are super fast and so on. Just look at my favorite game of all time all the way back. Grand theft auto. Quickest way to find out is shut the key off.... That Speedo will go to zero. I did that in my truck the other night that Speedo went straight to zero. This is where my suggestion of attaching 3rd gen plastics to a first gen with chicken wire and gluing some wings to it. They will never know the difference its an aircraft!!

Update my leg was swelled so bad Friday morning I couldn't drive.. Went to er and sure enuff its infected bad I won't show pictures but its at gross phase wish I knew how it got infected because I was keeping it clean and using peroxide to help but found out I was doing it all wrong guess you learn something new everyday. Depends what gear your in but, if I remember correctly this is an issue with the 2nd Gens it does not effect it at all just have read where some are louder then others. I would definatly if i were to purchase it I would pull rear tire and grease everything up good with Poly Greese? and change out all fluids. That is just something I do no matter what I buy. Ok question in 5 yrs when I can afford a used one can I get a used vmax and build the bike in this one or is it to Techy to even touch such a feet, Yes I am going to admit I love the look of the bike.... just dont like throttle by wire, which come to find out this morning I have been driving one for 2 yrs and the lag is a dangerous thing if you get into a bad perdicament. Which I guess would be another question could one switch back to cables on this?

Also my Yamaha never let me down seem like there Ford's in a sense... You all can knock a ford all ya want but they will whine and complain but never had one not start even with a funky carbs will add with spun bearings engine sound like train running down the tracks still drove another 500 miles.... @cowpuc guess shouldn't tell ya I seen a beautiful calvacade for 1300 wished I had the money I would give it a try. I grew up with Yamaha and Hondas and one scraped Suzuki I still take Yamaha any day over Harley just can't afford the Harley parts... But have seen Harley dealer work on shovel heads and pan heads which does tell me must have most parts available.... Ok there is that one Harley that's 6000 I would love to have.
