Well aware this here was a garter, black snake.. Years ago in the woods we used to live we were forever finding snake skins in mom and dad's room.. I felt every hair on me stand straight up and I was all but Christian at that moment.... I was not expecting that at all. I ended up squashing him and the box... Right now paying 48 a month to get rid of land lords pets. Back home the land lord had contracts for someone to come in... Down here its different story this landlord gave me are you stupid look when I asked about pest control... But I refuse to live with them any longer and for future reference will be asked before I fill out application. Wished there was place I could go to find out if land lords are in the up in up. So there I was in the kitchen this morning looking for a bite to eat and fixing me some coffee. Kids were at school I was just going about my bussiness and kicked the box from the Orkin Mans last visit So I go ahead and I bend over and go to pick it up, well Mr Thumble thumbs like I am it slips out of my hand. It seemed as if it was stuck to the floor with the glue inside the trap. So I am like ok this isn't nothing just kinda wiggle and pull, not budging!!! So I try one last time grabbing hold of that glue trap and give it a good yanking, AND OMG, OLLY ALE, Bust my buttons and give me a HEART ATTACK!!!:yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes:

Good cuz I do know the venture or site has it it's just I can't blow up the pictures big enough to see them Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk -
Your talking about the instrument panel connection issue... are you talking about the plug itself or the sodering on the board.... I replaced dash on mine because last one was slightly light. I still have issues that are intermittent where I am out of gas, kickstand is down, low on oil, low on brake fluid.... the other warnings are bipassed but it gets annoying.... I have tried the zip tie trick but don't think I have that right. What area are you from. I know of a torn down 83 that is supposed to be a 1300 not sure if it is a royal or not. I will say the 87 a guy brought down to my house seemed it sat up higher. Well it did I had to TIP TOE with it, my 83 I sit flat footed...

I took mine off for two reasons I like the airflow with them off and my legs don't sit against them. Last winter I had them on and on cooler days it did seem warmer with them on. Thought it was me but I keep thinking I'm right. Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

Well you could get you about an inch of black tape... 3 to be exact pull computet from dash apply to warning spot and red blinky thingy....[emoji23] Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk -
I am confident you can do this work Ty. I was mechanically inclined just cause I like to tinker on things. But before joining this forum never resodered computer boards or took a gas gauge sending unit apart.. Thanks @Freebird for that gas gauge works well!! Never thought about replacing my battery cables but that is thanks @yamagrl for that. I paid someone to rebuild my carbs and clean them. But they just wasn't right. So I bought my own set and the CD everyone recommends... I really thought I knew what I was doing but needed a bit of help. So far I have put 24 into this site and 20 dollars into the carb and engine rebuild CD. So 40 Vic all together which has saved me 1000's. Now I have my exhaust pulled waiting on oil pan gasket and filter. Plus I found I had no problems with my exhaust just pipe fitment and a couple of orings. Really not hard to do IMHO. Specially with the guidance found here. I even tackled going all led to lighten load on the charging system plus added pulsing brake light. All of which with confidence from this sight. Shrevk will be hibernating all winter so why not get in there and attempt on your own. Then you will know what and how and gain confidence as you go. Just my 2 pennies worth. But these bikes are trully a labor of love. Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

This Is from @skydoc_17 to someone else who has had his bike for over 25 yrs!!! In the beginning, I was my own worst enemy, I punished myself for not taking my time and doing a good job. As I have gotten older, I have "slowed my roll"! Now, I take my time, I take a break when I get tired, or mad, I don't skimp on the quality of parts I use, and I have found that most of the time, I fix things ONCE, without breaking anything else, and without beating myself up, and I end up with the results I was looking for. This method works really well for me, perhaps it will work well for you too. Sorry to get so "windy" in my explanation of these vital maintenance projects, but I want you to feel that you can do these jobs yourself, and if you need help, ALL of the members of this forum are here to help you! Who could ask for more than that! Earl
