  1. I would love to have one of these it looks like I could deck it out and make it a mini version of a tourer and I'm sure a guy I know can make a more comfortable seat for this after watching dozens of motorcycle videos I am surprised that I haven't ran across this bike yet, Is this a Canadian special or did they sell in the US too.

  4. https://www.youtube.com/user/AllAmericanFiveRadio This guy right here has some very informative Videos this one in particular I Found to educate me about our TCI boxes he has a very simplified drawing of how it operates which probably explained everything better to me then reading it I am more of a visual person.. And no I don't look at pictures to assemble things but here is the video on the CDI circuit. anyways back to more of his videos just thought someone might want to check this out.

  7. Well so far came to my daughter counseling on Marie and is still on full which is prolly about 22 miles since I took roundabout way to get here passed a cop on a bike then was stopped at the light and he rolls up beside me on a State decked out Harley.. this is the first time I have actually seen a motorcycle cop. Just returned home and got 44.5 miles and the guage is down one bar till I hit the brakes and it goes up to full for a few seconds.. which I honestly have never seen since my sender unit was messed up But will update at fill up. I just basically wanted to find out if I had moved the wiper properly. so far all seems good but one problem am having now as far as that CMU is the fact it blanks out on me and I tap it and it comes back up read a forum somewhere about bad ground so I will see if I can track that down on Marie. For that matter I am thinking its one of the grounds for the dash now being is sometimes the Tach will raise up the voltmeter will act out and there is a black wire in the dash that is spliced together may just rewire it and see if it cures the problem since everytime I mess with that black wire things seem to straighten out for a little while. 8. Holy cow dude she sounds like my ex wife. How big was this place to be able to fit 7 people in there 1550 sounds high for a triplex so I'm assuming it's huge. And her getting 5000 for a baby bonus. What is a baby bonus? Sounds like my ex-wife could have made bank we have been separated since 99 and Everytime I had the money to file for divorce she was pregnant so 12 kids later and 16 yrs later I finally had my divorce we had one kid together who is now 19 I left her because she cheated and my proof was in her belly buy because she was pregnant we could not get divorced. Anyway Everytime something happens with the house I can't seem to get my landlord to fix it I end up fixing most stuff but right now I'm in a dilemma because back in the middle of July the flu/chimney fell and so I called the gas company first and had them come check for gas leak which there wasn't one but he took the line that went from our oven to the valve and shut the gas off and left fix it tickets but I keep getting run around from landlord that he is gonna call someone the cheapest I have found is 2700 just to remove it then someone would have to run the flu for the furnace then I can get my gas turned back on. Which is another 150 for the flu so... I offered to do it for 6 months rent which is $2,610 am I in the wrong. When I offered that he said let me make a few calls see if I can find it cheaper. I tried being landlord one time and they destroyed the house and left it nasty... Along with a few other things but since there was no lease I was fudged... Sent from my Z812 using Tapatalk
  9. right now i have it figured at about 35-38 miles to a gallon um I did alot of in town driving.. not really sure where the 3 gallons was used because between letting it idle for 30 minute in the drive way to between testing things i wont have a more accurate read till the next time I fill up.
  10. Hasn't happened to me but all summer kept reading bout Helmets and scooters being stolen Sent from my Z812 using Tapatalk

  12. Thanks for that Bongo but by the time you posted it I had already fixed the issue referred to the shop manual and there was a picture of its exact location anyways it was a stretched plug. then found another issue on one of my coil wire plugs there was one stripped and frayed wire dissambled the plug repair it put the prongs back in and away I went for a nice little ride. Now fixing to go for another.:biker:
  13. Well thanks to @Freebird Technical Post I now have a working gas gauge. Finished the Spark Plugs wire now gonna see what is going on with my Temperature Gauge Prolly Knocked a wire lose somewhere.
  14. Hey @cowpuc have you ever had a problem with the latch that secures your saddlebags I have one I have to use a screwdriver on while I turn the key to unlatch it from the bracket I have taken it apart and greased it and put it back in and it still seems like when I turn the key it kind of feels like it is hitting something its no big deal just curious if there is a fix to this is all.
  15. Um question sorry but I'm in a jittery mood tonight Since I own one of these fine bikes and looking to possibly buy another 83... I know where a gem sets about an 2 hours cruise from me been well taken care of... anyways back to the point of me quoting this guy here That wasn't very nice Marie can hear you she is outside my bedroom window!!!!
  16. hey Puc I dont think there is anything quick there if I remember right i was just reading that yesterday and still havent finished lol but yes very good info. I did have the rear brake problem till I replaced the pads and Cleaned the cylinder up real good which is basically what ya have in there I just had to pick on ya since you said take a quick read... May not be quick reads but enjoyable ones..:biker:
  17. I'm kinda glad when I quit that there was no social media being in the small town was enuff just stayed home and went to work Sent from my Z812 using Tapatalk
  18. I am glad now days that it actually stops back when I was in school most of the time made matters worse. About 3 yrs after I quit school they came down hard on Bullying in School the town or county even started bringing in Cops and Juvenile Officers the kids started getting into some deep crud on the 2nd and 3rd offense. But in the early 90's most of the time it was jocks and all that would happen to them is have to sit out a game and run laps; the receiving party would get suspended from school and sometimes they would get kicked out enough to lose there credits in High School and most just quit. Took them a long time to move past it and approach people in a social level. I know the school my kids are in does not tolerate Bullying one bit. I am saddened by the fact another has attempted such a thing. I just hope she comes to you from now on and won't be afraid to come to you first.
  19. It was off of 83 the bike is running almost perfect the carbs need tweaked but I tryed to get the butterfly s moving at the same time after I put the carbs back together Sent from my Z812 using Tapatalk
  20. Figured it was good Ol government at work the rebel of course is a 2007 which may explain the difference between that 85 I seen a while back the only time oil goes in my air box is when I accidentally over filled the oil thought it went to the top line that's before I found this site... 21. All I know this the first time I tried to warm the tube before putting it back on but didn't see a mist just some popping without it being on really didn't think the tube would cause that if it wasn't attached is reason I'm asking about its purpose and the fact I don't see one on Shorty but she is only a twin piston bike.. versus our V-4s Sent from my Z812 using Tapatalk
  22. Ok so I finally went thru the first generation tech articles and read all of them just don't quiz me my memory is trash but i have one question what in the heck is that vent tube for that runs from the engine to the bottom of the breather box.. the reason I ask is cause on the Rebel there isn't one...
  23. I will say when I have both Rhapsody Playing streaming music and I am running my Gps that I have a slight discharge if you know how to get in your processes I would check there and see what is draining the battery.
  24. Yeh strange enuff my son begged me to take him for a ride and well it's not popping no more but boy do those carbs need synced also don't know if it affected it any but I did also connect the hose to the air box I guess I'll call it a snorkel tube that runs to the top of the engine being warm rubber is easier to work with then cold rubber Sent from my Z812 using Tapatalk
  25. Ok went to the local autoparts store and got some tractor plug wires it cured my problem dont understand how but it helped... anyways I now have a popping sound coming from my exaust so it could be that my mufflers have holes in them... possible running a bit lean I haven't put the new wire on the side that has the popping sound because It is rather warm at the moment..... I know the carbs need synced and adjusted but for now that idle stumble is gone I just ran it in my driveway for 30 minutes and let the fan cycle on and get up to operating temp and it did not stumble once which when I checked the wires before it was cold because I could not get it to fire never checked warm but did so today and found that number 3 wire had an odd intermittent spark.... but the guy at the bike shop was pretty sure I could use the wire and even if I couldn't I was only gonna be out 7.50 for 10 foot of wire has anyone else used the 7mm Copper core supressed wire on there Bikes... just curious if this has been done and how long the wire last.... thanks for all the help once again hopefully I can get me second set of carbs and rebuild them over the winter to keep me busy.. and possibly get another venture this coming winter to tinker with or even find a good deal like the feller who got that pretty blue one:starz:
