So if I ever have to replace the cover I guess mine would stick out more? Or would it be a larger circumfrance? -

Ok I have done this... The subframe goes on after you put the gas tank in there is a bracket at the top of the tank that I put on losely to kinda hold the gas tank. Then I put the 2 bolts in the back where the crash bars are and kinda role it into position over the tank. Then I take the bolt that screws to the top of the tank and thread it a couple of turns. Then I go to the front of that frame and line up the holes and screw them in some and double check to make sure I haven't missed anything then I tighten up the neck bracket then do the to front bolts to the frame. Then I tighten up the bolt for the tank. Then I go to lower bolt and nut. Only one problem I have an 83 But I can't imagine it being much difference other then how the saddle bags go on. -

Wow are you testing one of them 2017 Ventures. I hear they got auto pilot. I hope you at least turned that on first.. I have rode at 60 with no hands but only for a few seconds to see if there was any shakes.

I figured that part came out but just don't know how it does. I planned to just use at the very edge of the Four way and none in the hole. Just debating on what to go with because I hate fighting that tube to the Air Box!!! I will let it set overnight then put gas in it and see if the seal holds before I put the Air Box back on.

Didn't anyone see the tiny label that says hand wash only?

When I went out after posting this to pull the fuel lines off the four way came right out. The red tinted sealant stuff was brittle and came right out. This picture is one I found on Ebay and just circled the piece that was leaking I've got it cleaned up. I was gonna clean it up better with a q'tip and Rubbing Alcohol. I have found several different things that with stand fuel. Just trying to figure out the best way to go and like you say Hope for the best. I have found many Issues like this but mainly pertaining to the VW Bugs going up in flames because of a pressed in Fuel inlet on their carbs. Thanks Greg

Now that is awesome.. Never thought I would see that set up on a bike!!
-
I wonder if that is what they used to seat them in the first place cause what was still left on mine had a red shade to it.
-
Ok the fore way is not leaking it is leaking from where it seated in the carburetor. Is there any sealant to put back in there and get it to seal back up.

As I look at this I can't help but wonder... This is just a shot in the dark here but.... What I would try would be some how find a hose clamp to fit around that and use the Jb weld.. to fill in. and around the clamp. I don't Know what kind of clearances you have there. So this is just a thought to give it some extra support. I Have seen aluminum repair on something like this.. But just don't know how the repair was done. What about filling this hole in with led that you use for sinkers? I would definatley try it... I just would not give up on this bike. I am beginning to wonder if that's why I keep trying with my Bike over and over.. Because it is a challenge for me and I know the end result will be a damn good bike. I would also maybe call a aluminum block repair shop and see if they will devoulge any information with you.. just my thoughts
