  1. You all keep it, I'm out riding!! Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  2. Good questions, many have said other then a few minor quirks they may have these little liquid cooled V4's will take you 300,000. I got the 83 venture which it is 1st gen mkI they 83-85 is the 1st gen mkI the 86-93 is 1st gen mkII. Second gens look like Harley's and My bike will blow it off the road.... 3. Wait parking tickets are a real thing thought they just called tow truck Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  4. The ones I get spoof? I Had one, one time call and it said Newton County Sheriff. Guy had a very heavy accent, he got pissed when I told I called the Newton County Sheriffs department. He called me a ****** idiot that dispatch won't know nothing about the Warrant. I politely told him there was no foreigners here other then mexicans and Islanders which sound nothing like you. It is amazing what these Foreignors will try to do. About this time last year the news had us in a scare over Posible Muslims buying a crap load of cell phones I think the lady tried to purchase 50 of them all together. People were saying there planning to blow something up. Only a few thought well we are gonna be getting calls from the IRS.
  5. Yep and I would definitely be looking at suburban with 3rd row and 4x4 to boot I know my truck is 2002 but I paid 4500 for it. It was the only one in good shape and priced cheap. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  6. Macarl hit a nail on the head about his ex-wife. I put a couple things online including my bike. Funny thing I put up the price according to nada 3500 no calls for a month actually forgot I had it posted. A guy calls and wanted to come check it out. At that point tho I had changed my mind about selling but he wanted to come look. He showed up with 3000 in hand. I just couldn't, part with her. My Jimmy started out at 3000 I ended up selling it for 800 because the trani stopped shifting acting like it was stuck in 3rd. I had reverse but the forward was sluggish. It wasn't acting up or anything it just did it. I had drove it 3 hours earlier and it was fine. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  7. Hey I shouldn't ask but is the got 3rd row in it?
  8. I haven't seen the ignitek on eBay but I have ran across our tci box try searching igniter box or ecu Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  9. Only one thing to say darn it for 83's for being so unique... There is the one everyone knows from ignitek and the other one I came across http://www.regulatorrectifier.com/catalog/1983-1985-1989-Yamaha-XVZ12-Venture-1200-CDI-Ignitor no one has tried this one. But it being me I would go with the one that everyone uses. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  10. Hey I may be crazy, But use a spray bottle next time... @cowpuc talks about a spit test. So figure spray bottle may give you some kind of idea, If you have one with stream instead of spray. One thing I also did just to check my coils was switched the plug to another coil. like if its 3 giving you heck plug 3 to coil 4 and check for spark that is easy enuff without removing the coils and swapping them. Unless thats what ya meant. I actually took my coil connectors appart and cleaned the prongs on all of them but you have to be carefull not to rip the wires out of coil.
  11. Wow, dang all I gotta say is you must be tuff, and very glad your able to tell us about it. That actually sounds cheap. Maybe because it's a motorcycle but back in 99 a friend of my brothers stole a my 1 ton, needless to say he got arrested they told me I could come get it. So I go get the release from the cops which had it impounded, go to pick it up figuring pretty easy get there and they hit me with a 450 tow bill plus tell me the motor is locked up in it. Needless to say they also was charging 75 a day... So kissed that truck goodbye among other things. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  12. fuel is shut off or clogged between the tank and filter.
  13. Yep I am sure we do.
  14. Wait you rode your motorcycle all the way to Georgia just to pick some Oranges, Never mind I can't say I would't mind doing that.
  15. I'm right up there with you Dan. First Gens just have there unique look, Kinda like the 2nd Gen, but it looks too much like a Harley.
  16. Sorry for you loss, I think we all hope to live well into the 90's.
  17. @4:00 on first clip I tripped over a Rock kind of embarrassing but, hilarious. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  18. Well hell yeah they do sorry about shaky video, my daughter is now eight I just can't believe it's been that long. Also it's nice to know some people do still stop to offer assistance. That was a nice Camaro if I'm not mistaken. Living life one curve after the other. Vroom scooting, thru the countryside.
  19. Went over to Joplin Falls, Took pictures and video. I was gonna edit the video, I will post under Video in forum, You all may just get a laugh.
  20. 82* In November thinking about riding over to the falls and see if I can get my bike up in there.
  21. Hey cowpuc I just got a winter warning notice looks like it may be headed for you. Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk
  22. Hell they come with reverse, Hydraulic Kickstands, I pulled up in the Wal-Mart Parking lot and it was an older Gentleman. I asked him about the bike his was a Full Tourer Package, But it sure was sharp Bike, He told me its an older mans ride, that want to stay on 2 wheels. I got to say just having a reverse would be kind of awesome to me or when my knee's just can't get the bike on the center stand. I like my ride just the way it is. But I do wonder if these bikes are cheaper then Harley's.
  23. Gary what bongo says not only helps your tci but make for alot easier access to it. I would rather spend 2 seconds changing it then spend 2 hours getting to it. If there was a way to move the coils to an easier access would be nice too, but those things are almost bullet proof. I don't know if the boost or whatever the little box is called but I would definatley check that vacuum line running to it. It could be dry rotted, hard, or brittle. Sorry for Hijacking your post, I will say that was about the oddest thing I have seen these carbs do other then that one post where the guy had a water fountain in his.
  24. Done and done as far as the carbs went this time I got smart and wore safety googles. Last time I pulled my carbs I was like HEY!! I can do this who needs googles..... Well you can guess how that went and Holy Crap that stuff burns, I have already replaced my wires, spark plugs, and caps all new. I was a little concerned the flooding on that cylinder was from the choke. But after I did all that and started her up, Boy I bet the mesquitos are dead now if they weren't already, took it out for a ride and issue was gone. Pulled the TCI,Lid, and air filter out took a peak and dry as could be down in there. Well as it normally should be, Now being you said something about being able to get parts I will be going on a shopping spree in February. My goal is to finish putting new parts in the carbs. I have 1 new diaphragm in there I want to replace the other 3. I would also like to figure out what they call the engine to airbox snorkel and get a new one of those for her. I live in SWMO like today it got to 84, Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 70's, and as for Friday she can block the wind but I think 42 is a little cool to be riding. Our seasons here blend together but I don't ever remember being able to ride anything this late in the season. That being said I have still road at least 4-8 days a month during the winter even if it was short rides. If I still lived in Central Missouri I probably wouldn't be able to. I guess I did forget another new part that I haven't replaced would be the floats. Which I am not even sure it is possible to get them. Some people like my oldest son thinks I am trying to polish a turd persay, But I trully believe this bike really only has 17,000 on it. The other thing is How can one tell if these bikes had the 2nd gear issue fixed, I have seen someone mention a notch. Is it possible to locate this mark without opening the side up?
