I know folks, I've really haven't had the best of times the past two years. I don't know how much I am going to get out this year either. My mother is still in the hospital going on almost five weeks now. Last year at this same time she had cracked her pelvis and was down for about three months. I hope to get some time this year. My wife has told me to take some time off and go south. My brother has invited me down to Florida this year, but its really hard to take off without the wife on the back. I keep trying, you'll never know where I'll show up. As for another Skid-In, I hoping for mid September as soon as I can work out the details....

I just changed oil in the Midnight, and discovered it took me almost two years to get 3,000 miles. Sad that I haven't rode more than that.....

Right now thinking September. Since Asheville is in August, I thought I might be able to catch the leaves turning but still be plenty warm enough to ride. Just a thought but want to do another one this year.

I have a Capital One card going on twenty years. Is has the lowest interest rate of the three cards I have. I don't have a balance run much more that a couple months occasionally with a large purchase. Capital One has been excellent whenever there is suspicious activity on my card to call me immediately. Couple months ago someone had used my card in another state at a Best Buy and twenty minutes later attempted another large purchase. They called me and asked if I had authorized the purchases and stopped the second transaction in it's steps. Within a couple days the first transaction was removed from my account. The instintly cancelled my account and issued a new card to me. I was pleased with the service as this has happened to me three of the past four years. Capital One has always took care of the problems quickly and reissued a new card. The first time someone attempted to make a $2000 donation to the March of Dimes. Capital one called my work number and stopped the transaction immediately. They said they never saw me do that before and got flagged as suspicious activity really fast.

I actually do the same thing. I figured if someone sees something inside they want they may be stupid enough to open the door first.

After taking a four day nap, today mom was alert and talking. A big improvement from yesterday. Keep the prayers coming, we still got a ways to go.... -

So far her condition hasn't changed. She is still sedated due to her pain. Doctors are still running several tests and trying to determine the extent if her infection. Thanks all... -
My mother is in the ICU at Ruby Memorial Hospital today. The doctors are searching for possible infection causing her symptoms. So far they haven't found it. At this point it's completely in the Lord's hands.
