  1. I learned today that this is not a benign tumor. This thing is showing very aggressive characteristics and very serious about spreading. The good news that a drug called Gleevec has control over these types of tumors and can cause them to shrink. Nothing promised but there is still hope. I go back after a few weeks of Gleevec and the Dr will determine if radiation is necessary at that point.
  2. Today I started the paperwork to a new chapter in my life. I am about to join the "Retirement Group". Effective February 28, 2014 I will start my retirement years. It's not exactly what I expected to be doing starting out, but it's time to place all efforts on beating this cancer thing again. I am in limbo right now until we see what the chemo does and surgery can be done. Until then I plan to glorify my Lord and fight this terrible disease. So keep your eyes out for the "blondie" riding the Midnight for you may never know where she might show up at.
  3. I will try to fit it into my schedule. July may not be good month due to other vacation plans for me. But whenever everyone else wants to. Right now since my surgery has been postponed to who knows when, I can't make plans too far out. But the "blonde" on the Midnight will ride again. LOL
  4. I guess everyone just needs to move to WV.
  5. You all can have six more weeks, but French Creek Freddie did not see his shadow today in West Virginia. And his rating is higher than the Puttsylvania's ground hog.
  6. Don, I've been tossing around about getting the Ms. Skid to come to your event in May. She loves frog legs and fish..
  7. Why are you letting a little distance stop you from visiting? I hope to have another Skid In before long.
  8. My doctor called me before I got home. He has already spoke with oncologist & surgeon. He advised the surgeon will be calling to set up meeting and schedule my surgery.
  9. Our condolences Sorry to hear the news.
  10. Yes thanks all. Even thou I been through this before isn't making it any easier. Hopefully it will all be over soon and recovering.
  11. On my way. Looks like a good day of driving.
  12. I believe Dan is speaking of me this time again. So I'll fess up. As some of you may remember about four and a half years ago I went through surgery to remove a tumor that was a little over eight inches. Better referred to as a G.I.S.T. tumor. It was benign, but it was classed as a fast growing aggressive tumor with a high risk of occurrence. I was placed on a chemo pill called Gleevec for three years as a precautionary to reduce chance of it returning. Well Friday it was confirmed the tumor returned and located almost exactly where the first one was at. I've had a CT scan done every six months and it hadn't showed up this Friday. Hopefully this one isn't as large, but I have another CT on Wednesday. My oncologists and surgeon will put their heads together an determine my next step. Last time step three was another scope with an ultrasound to determined size and what else it was touching. If this one isn't as large, they may decide step three will be surgery. The first time took only five weeks till I was in surgery so I really do not expect they will wait this time very long either. Last time was in August 2009 and I had a chance to see several VR members the weekend before my surgery. Not quite the circumstances this time, but with God's help I will be back up and riding by summer. It wasn't the was I had plan to start retirement next month, but He doesn't work on my time schedule. So keep my family in your prayers. I know my God and He will prevail. God is good!
  13. LOL. Must have, cause I lost 10. You can keep it!
  14. Cowpuc, I'm actually been losing weight the past two months without even trying.
  15. I have another trip to Norfolk, VA on Monday, January 20. During the last trip I had dinner at Aberdeen Barn & Steakhouse on Hampton Blvd that has excellent food. I'll be back there again Monday night I'm sure. Anyone in the area, see you there.
  16. Not effected up this far but feel bad for all of them that is. It looks like this is going to be many more days yet to go for them. I've offered our shower and water if anyone want to drive to Gassaway.
  17. Nothing like digging up an old post to bring back the memories.
  18. Christmas is over, I'm ready for Summer.
  19. I guess if you crash and not wearing a helmet, you're not going to need your bike replaced.
  20. I got some riding time in today too. Temperature made it up near 50 and it was time to go. Mrs. Skid even went with me...
  21. Best battery I found is the Interstate battery. Everything I own has an Interstate and usually get about five years out of the in the bike.
  22. Looks like tonight's dinner choice is at Aberdeen's Barn Steakhouse
