I don't have it and I haven't seen your pen here. But then again I wasn't there either. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it........

Silverscrew, I got the Fork Brace from Condor who made arrangements from a dealer for a special bulk rate. I think it might be too late now to order but here is the thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21411 Dan, I'll talk with the CMA member at our meeting on Saturday and get you the number.... You're welcome to join us Saturday morning at Shoney's. Meeting starts at 9:00 a.m., but I'll be there around 8:00 a.m. to have breakfast before the meeting..... After the meeting if weather permits we are taking a little ride for a while.

Yes, I have some of the high speed wobble, and when I'm leaning in a long sweeping curve....

Ok I finally got time this evening to install my new Fork Brace. I got the black and I suppose it doesn't look bad. A little different, but I'm glad I went with the black, maybe just to be different. So far I haven't got to test it out yet. I only got a short ride in this evening and didn't get to try out the top end yet, but I will be soon. I'l proide an update later to see if my wobble is any better. (Thanks Condor)

Congratulations Jeff, I'm glad to see it happen. With all of us First Gen Riders, you will need a good set of wheels to make house calls....

I sure hope the pond monsters aren't in Elk River later this month. I can't wait to see the movie.....

I saw him last year at Vogel..... and I heard he was at Don's this weekend. Where have you been Dan?

Side stand question....
Skid replied to Skid's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Ok, I don't believe I over tightened the bolt but it is definately snug. The nut on the back side is a lock nut. The original bolt was silverish in color, but this new Yamaha bolt is green. I didn't see any markings on the head. I'll look again this evening when I install the new fork brace. I'll may also remove it again and check the hole closer too. Thanks everyone for the info, if I don't feel comfortable I may even order me a new side stand. I probably can beat the $57.00 price here at my local dealer. -
Side stand question....

Randy, I tightened it up good, but still have a little play. I'm hoping this new green Yamaha bolt is harder than the old one. -
Side stand question....

Are you taking your medication again Dan? No I didn't drop it, I changed the bolt before it happened.... -
Ok folks I have heard several members dropping their bikes after the side stand breaks and the thought scares me. My wife often sets on the bike while it is on the side stand at different times, while fueling etc.... I have checked the up and down play in the side stand while the bike is on the center stand. I have about 1.5 inches of play at the bottom tip when the side stand is down. Is this normal? I removed the bolt and I can see a little wear so I replaced it yesterday just to be on the safe side. I noticed the new bolt is green colored, does that mean it is an harder bolt?

Good looking ride, sure wish I could have been there to your smile. You are an inspiration to this web site, and you have helped many members several times. You well deserve a good First Gen........ Ride Safe!

Have a safe trip Dan, sure wish I could have made it, but that life sometimes.....

Who will be traveling through West Virginia going to Don's Maintenance Day? I still don't know if I can get away yet, but I am trying. Just wondering who and when will someone going through on either I-77 or I-79..... I may jump in line and try to follow along.

Thank you Condor, I got mine today, can't wait to get time to put it on......

If I had a set I would give them to you Squid. I do not personally like floor boards. And with all the extra chrome, lights, and accessories on the "Shady Lady", it is going to slow Dan down...........a lot !
-
Go ahead Dan, you deserve it. I'll let you hide it in the garage until you find a way to tell her.....

It actually is bigger than the picture shows. The table top is about 4 feet across. This table was used at a Dairy Queen that closed down this year locally. And how I came up with it is the owner lives next door. The table is made a concrete and probably every bit of 400+ lbs.
-
No, it not going to blow away. It may sink to china, but I can fix that with a little concrete pads under the legs...
-
Table ! Well I finally got the table put together. Its made of concrete. It just doesn't get any better than to enjoy an ice cream along the river on your own DQ table.....

Bike dies while running
Skid replied to Tupperj's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
When mine died on the road it was the main fuse and battery terminals. Make sure they are TIGHT!.
