I have been hearing a rattle and maybe a slight exhaust leak out of the ole girl. And for those of you who knows my ole girl, SHE DOESN'T RATTLE. For some reason my rear exhaust clamps will loosen up every now and then. Am I missing something or is there a bigger problem coming down the road? After tightening them up, everything goes away......

YES ! US Route 60 past Hawks Nest is great riding. I had the 2006 Bridge Day WV Meet and Eat and the 2007 WV Meet & Eat ride through there. Everyone loved it.....

Just the original splitter on the back of the CB...... I also replaced the complete coax between splitter and antenna.
-
It works through the CB antenna just like the original did. I don't use the AM/FM radio much, but seems to work good.

Here you go... complete post with prices pics and where to buy. I changed mine out just last month. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24485

1st Edition Antennas again
Skid replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yes, the original stock antennas are folding antennas. Most retailers has the fold-over mount if you want to get it. I didn't get it with mine yet, but I may later and add it onto mine. The three foot antenna doesn't seems to hit anything, but when I cover the bike it would nice.- 10 replies

1st Edition Antennas again
Skid replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I ordered mine online from roberts-etronics45.com. It is a FireStik FireFly FL3, If you go to the link I had on my first post, on the second page I have a breakdown of the total cost. I purchased a new antenna and a new mount. It fit the hole in the bike mount perfectly. I also replaced the coax on the bike, but I already had it at the house......- 10 replies

1st Edition Antennas again

Here is a thread you might find helpful to your question. I changed my antenna out a couple months ago and it really made a difference. The original antenna is just over 4 foot, but I went with the 3 foot FireFly and like it better. As for working, it works great. Also the FireFly comes in a matching cb antenna or a am/fm antenna if you wish to separate them. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24485- 10 replies

That is the same trailer I am waiting on here, except I am getting mine at 15% off the sale price of $139.00..... Hopefully it will be here soon. I have my rain-check in hand!
-
Thanks Eck, I'll keep that page. I hope to get started soon if I can get my trailer. I still got to wire the lights and maybe go ahead and get new wheel bearings so I'll have everything ready to go soon. Does anyone know the part number for the replacement wheel bearings? I plan to replace them and add buddy bearings too.

I'm getting ready to start my Harbor Freight trailer project. I have one on order. The store didn't have what I needed so I got a rain check for 15% off the sale price. I was wondering how much longer should I make the tongue than it is now? And is it customary to remove any of the leaf springs? I was thinking there were multiple leafs. Also what other flooring options is there besides going with the diamond plate metal? I'm just looking for ideas, and gathering parts now and should be ready to build as soon as the trailer arrives.....

Glad you're home safe Bob. Good to meet you and your wife. Hope to see you again on the road.....

I had to resolder all the joints inside to fix the E4 error code, but since I went with the progressive springs I never added ANY air to the front shocks. The ride is excellent and you will not get a better ride.

Great news Lowell, if you make West Virginia I'll buy at the DQ..... and I can do that for any VentureRider.org member passing through the area at least one time a year. (sorry but that offer not valid for or includes local members and / or Skid-Ins events)

Check out this thread. It also has some pics of my antenna change. I got a FireStick FireFly FL3. Its only 3 foot tall, but works excellent. Cost was about $25.00 total including shipping. I purchased an antenna and the mount. It fit the hole on the bike perfectly. Even the FM radio seems to work good with it. Hope this helps.... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24485
