I hope to make it this year myself. I always had the Skid-In the last weekend of June, but I'm going to cancel the Skid-In for 2010. I doubt if it would be worth it.

I did the same thing this past June. Went from my 86 VR that I owned for 13 yaers to a 2002 Midnight. Definately two very different machines. Each one has its advantages. I really enjoy the 2nd Gen, but when its comes to performance, handling and power, the First Gen will win hands down. When I want a big comfortable cruiser, back to the 2nd Gen.....

A friend of mine just purchased a new blue and black Kawasaki Voyager. He hasn't had any of these problems yet, hopfully he doesn't. Pretty bike, but not a Venture....

Glad to hear everyone had such a great time. For everything you and Lonna has done for so many members on this site, you both deserved it. I'm sure Michigan will miss you, I even wish you two were going to be closer to West Virginia, but I'm sure our paths will cross somewhere during the Meets & Eats. I never got to make a Michigan Meet & Eat, but maybe I'll look at one in Texas. Never been to Texas before. Good Luck to both of you......

Just my oinion, but I think it should stay in late July and pick a cooler climate. Moving it will interfer with other set rallies....
