  1. Looks good...on my agenda, too!
  2. We look forward to seeing you back in about 12,000 miles. I put the CT on my bike...I'm thinking as long as I own the bike, that is what it will have. I look forward to your appraisal of how it feels to go back to the MT.
  3. Our headsets have been intermittant (at best) for some time now...yesterday's ride they were unusable. What is the best way to have them repaired...take to dealer, or where? Or, should we just replace them...if so, with what?
  4. yes, the pass is a plus...we have used it in Big Bend, and now here on Skyline...we always ask if discounts (age, military, AAA, etc.) are available...you never know, and (so far) it hasn't cost anything to ask!
  5. We are visiting our home resort of Massanutten in Virginia. We trailered the bike up with us and yesterday rode the Skyline Drive...what a great ride! Was going to post photos, but I cannot seem to get them down to the size that will upload.
  6. Sounds like you have found your perfect job...so few do!
  7. ++Sure...that's what I used to tell my Mom...I'm just reading Playboy for the articles!
  8. Thank you for your service!
  9. I try to do my part by continuing to ask questions...that allows the ones in the know to shine! We all serve in our own way! Welcome to the greatest website on the internet! :BLUE:
  10. at the loss of your father...it is really difficult to lose a parent. We all know it is likely to occur, but nothing can truly prepare you for the time. God bless your father, and grant you the strength to get through this tough time in your life.
  11. Boomer, we are very sorry at the loss of your friend. It is amazing how important our four legged furry friends are to us...they are so much more than pets!
  12. Is the the liability amount (25k)?...I'm pretty sure the insurance company is not going to pay for more than the vehicle is worth...they will total it first.
  13. Just don't come planning to kill anyone!
  14. Jack...I can only imagine the pain you are feeling right now. God grant you the strength to get through this very difficult time.
  15. I'm intrigued by the group you are a part of that take the trip each fall...sounds as though that is the time to go...I'm thinking we may give it a go next year. The info I have been reading reveals many side trips you can take (some recommending 4 wheel drive) so I'm thinking we will find someplace in the area to stay so we can motorcycle and take the truck. Thanks again for the info.
  16. Thank you so much. As someone said in another thread...it is info like this, in addition to motorcycle info, that makes this site a real bargain for the pittance we pay.
  17. I saw on the tele this morning a trip along Utah's Route 12. Early research reveals this is a 125 mile, seemingly rugged road with some really super sights. Is this road motorcycle friendly? When would be the best time of year to ride it? Appreciate any input.
  18. the larger platform will be approx 12 X 12
  19. I want to put in a platform and sidewalk. I'm sure I won't be able to mix enough concrete to do the job in one fell swoop. Is is okay to add new concrete to concrete that has already set?
  20. and you guys gotta try to be funny! I would have been disappointed had I not gotten some replies like this! One of the many reasons I like this site so much!
  21. Even though I keep marking the "remember me" when signing in, something in the system keeps signing me out...even when I am staying on line. I have cleared the cache...any other ideas? Appreciate your help. Jim Turner
  22. good observation, Owen...I don't think I would have seen it in those terms...but it is a great demo!
  23. but as hard as I have tried, I can find only one thing about it that bothers me...film at eleven This was a no-risk trial for me, as I had folks who said they would buy the tire from me if I didn't like it...so I actually have been VERY critical of the tire and deep-down believed I would find a number of things wrong with it, and end up putting the bike tire back on the Wing. I cannot feel any difference in the cornering...in fact, I seem to be leaning a bit more than with the bike tire. I like what appears to be a faster stopping with the c/t. I like the fact that the tire digs in as I make a turn from a stop...rather than the tire breaking loose that sometimes happens with the bike tire. I like the smoother ride I get with the tire. I will like the peace of mind I will have due to the increased weight capability...riding two-up...pulling a trailer I will enjoy the increase in miles that I expect to get from the car tire. Oh yeah, the one thing that bothers me...is the inability of the tire manufacturers, the Honda folks, and other riders to put the car tire down without even checking it out!
  24. Turned 66 in May...still livin' the dream!
