Am I nuts or what?
Aimhigh replied to algie1100's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Time to show my ignorance: what is "CLASS"...I'm assuming it is just a 1st gen thing, but it would be nice to have an idea what you all are talking about. By the way...just because you have a good idea doesn't necessarily mean that you are not nuts! Have a great trip if you decide to go that route. -
I like the rack...where did you get it? Also, how much weight should be carried in such a device? Also, a (probably dumb) question about the hitches. The pictures on the Venturedad site looks like the hitch attaches to the frame...it sits directly under the bottom of the rear fender...the question...does the up and down activity of the suspension system cause the fender to hit the hitch? My signature block (and some others that I have seen) are getting cut off at the bottom. I don't know what I can do to fix the situation. I have tried to resize the font and the graphics, but nothing seems to work. Appreciate any help. Jim T

If any of you need a place to ride out the storm we are just SW of San Antonio. We have 6 acres for you to camp on or there is a trailer on the property you can use. We are in the directory...don't hesitate to ask if you need help. Jim T

I would like to join the accolades and congratulations. The military is a very proud tradition...there is no greater honor than to serve one's country. When I was a young, dumb kid I joined the Air Force (1964)--two weeks later I received a draft notice...Whew! Saved by the AF recruiter! Of course I went in for "four" years...then the plan was to return to the old home town. Twenty-eight years later I, and the wonderful lady (Military Lady) I met while in the service, retired from a joint forty-eight years of service. I look back on it with great honor and, to this day, wonder how it could have seemed to go by so fast. Thank your nephew for his future service and protection of our wonderful Nation. I wish him the best. Jim T :thumbsup2: Two thumbs up!

I am so sorry to hear of this tragedy...our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Jim T

Joe...I, too, am looking for a trailer. I posted to that effect not too long ago and I got replies that if you can, get the 6 X 12, V-nose. The V-nose is preferable over the flat trailer in that it cuts thru the wind with less effort providing better gas mileage on your vehicle and better handling. Expect to spend about $4k for a new one...keep your eye out as you can probably find a used one. Good Luck. Jim T

Wellllll....thanks for all the input. We took him to the vet this afternoon...verdict....German Shepherd/Chou mix...about six weeks old (young). Vet thinks he will be between 40 and 50 pounds. Mystery solved! By the way, I really do appreciate the input and comments from you all...this really is a great web site and you are special folks. Thank you. Jim T

This is a puppy my son found. We are trying to figure out what he is...we are thinking German Shepherd...any other ideas? Appreciate your input. We will find out for sure in the next day or so when we take him to the vet.

Yamaha does not provide the headsets or liners for the trunk/bags, but then you will be saving a lot of money over a Harley or Honda--and you get every bit the bike--maybe even more. Yes, you do hear all the audio thru the head sets...not sure about the ptt or vox thing. hope you decide on the RSV...you will not be disappointed--welcome, in advance. Jim T:welcome1:

This would have been quite an honor in which to participate. I fear we all have too soon forgotten a valuable lesson... http://www.usatoday.com/news/sept11/2008-08-23-memorial_N.htm?csp=15

I'm thinking that, because as a Nation, we are not too smart...we vote these nitwits into office and then let them do any damn thing they want. I'm wondering how long this thread will be around....

How far is the trunk supposed to open?
Aimhigh replied to Kidh2's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My '07 had both of the little bolts work out. At that point the trunk lid did not fully open. When I found the two bolts and hooked up the bracket again and VOILA...it now opens fully. I think the bracket can be put on two different ways...obviously the way that allows it to fully open is the preferred way. Hope this makes sense. -
