  1. any pictures of a yamaha with the hannigan conversion?
  2. So far, if I were to do the conversion, it would be the Hannigan...I am very glad to hear that the ride is still enjoyable. Thanks for the input. Jim T
  3. I have the same problem. Being a smaller person I changed the bars to the Barons and added a riser to decrease the reaching. And I have found that using the gloves with the finger area cut off help. I still have the numbness to a degree, but these things have helped.
  4. Thanks for the reply. We usually ride two up and I am considering pulling a trailer...don't do so right now...but I think a trike would make longer trips easier... and, thusly, more likely. Two-up we take day trips...solo I have ridden to Illinois and back (enjoyed it, too). Regarding budget...I looked at, and would seriously consider, the Hannigan conversion...priced it at approx $14k, but would still consider it...gritting my teeth, of course! Expectations are that the ride would still feel like a motorcycle ride...this is a MUST! At 63yrs and being a smaller person (5'7", 170lbs) the RSV is just too top-heavy, to be comfortable, especially when the navigator is aboard.
  5. There has been a lot of talk about trikes and trike conversions. I am seriously considering going the trike route...only thing is that I don't know if it will be better to convert my 07 RSV (and, if so, using what system?) or to sell my bike and just purchase a trike (again, which manufacturer?) Sure would appreciate any help you all have.
  6. Our thoughts and prayers go out wishing you both a speedy and full recovery. It never seems to amaze some of the dumb things that people do when driving a car. God bless.
  7. Congratulations on the new bike. We also have the 07 blue/black and love it. I took it on a 1200 mile (one-way) ride last summer and it was great! Enjoy. (I know you will!)
  8. Here ya go, my friend. http://tnpatriotguard.org/new_page_2.htm
  9. There is billions of dollars of construction going on at Ft. Sam Houston, here in San Antonio. I gotta believe that they will need safety-types. Wishing you the best.
  10. Don't know what is going on down-under...but I sure hope it doesn't affect you all. Sounds like a bad situation. http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1888288,00.html?xid=rss-topstories
  11. Wow! The doc really laid it on the line. I am very glad you are doing so well...probably don't need to recommend you continue the followup exams. My best to you.
  12. As a veteran, citizen and lover of America, I share your emotion and concern. There are many things that are going to get much worse before they get better. Just know that you and your concerns are not alone...there are many more that feel the way you do than our "press" will relate.
  13. I would have posted this earlier, but have had computer problems. My message is that last week I was finally able to ride again...between the operation and the surgery haven't ridden since late December. It was great to be back on the bike...I was afraid I would have forgotten how, but you know what they say about bikes... The surgery went fantastically well. All the cancer was removed and I am almost fully recovered...just the normal stuff associated with such a surgery of this kind...getting there rapidly, though. I will be happy to discuss my situation with anyone having trouble making up their mind about whether they should undergo such an operation should cancer be discoverd. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...no doubt in my mind that your good wishes expedited my recovery. You are a great group of folks and I am happy and proud to be a part of such an organization as VentureRiders.
  14. you are right, Eck...it is the assistance list i downloaded before. thank you for your help.
  15. I can view the listing, but am unable to download it.
  16. Can't seem to find the area to download the membership list...appreciate any help available.
  17. I'll give it a try...thank you very much.
  18. Would it be possible to add a feature to the member listing that will allow us to sort on city? I'm taking a trip and trying to find members in the city I am going to, but it requires scrolling through all of the Texas members. Appreciate it.
  19. I get a "corrupted file" error notice.:sign **** happens:
  20. thank you for the reply...not a bad price...but when the boss said you can get a lot of stuff in there...how does that relate to the welding shop to get fixed?
  21. here is one site: http://www.thomasamerican.com/trailers_for_sale_inventory.asp?Category=MCT&TrailerType=All
  22. Went to the trailer site...nice looking...what do they go for?
  23. :BLUE:Sarges46 stated some sage advice; in particular...look where you want to go...because where you look...you will go. Good luck...you will conquer! I am only 5'8" (stretching), weigh 170 and am almost 62 yrs old...bought my RSV 1 1/2 yrs ago and had to learn how to ride the old top-heavy bike. As you practice, and have questions, be sure to tap the vast knowledge here at VentureRiders...great people with many lifetimes of experience.
  24. Thanks for the posting on how to make the flag staff...here is a link for proper placement if you decide to have more flags mounted. http://www.usa-flag-site.org/forum/u-s-flag-etiqette-on-motorcycle-890.html
