This may qualify as a silly question...but I'm asking anyway. Does anyone put the clear plastic cover over their GPS screen? I am reluctant to put it on as there might be some coating on the screen???? It is a Garmin 660. Thanks for input.

I have a "million" slides that I want to put on the computer. Does anyone have any experience with slide scanners? I would like to get a sturdy one, capable of scanning a multitude of slides. Appreciate any help. By the way, when I went to Best Buy to inquire about one, the salesperson (young) did not even know what a slide is...had to explain.

I hope this posting is not out of line, if so, please delete it and advise me of my transgression. I recently joined an organization comprised of Senior Enlisted personnel (E-9). I am not sure where this org will be going, but I like the idea of helping maintain our military defense and the troops that continue to protect us. I am posting the Mission Statement; the website is: http://www.aftea.us/ "OUR MISSION The AFTEA mission is to advocate a strong national defense that will protect the security of the United States. We support a defense budget that will provide modern and sufficient equipment so that our military personnel can safely and effectively accomplish their mission. We seek to educate the public and members of Congress about the uniformed services and their most important asset, its people. We promote improved quality-of-life and economic fairness that will support the well-being of the men and women of America's Uniformed Services and their families. We give voice to our members' concerns about military pay, health care, pension and disability, survivor benefits, education, housing, child care, and other quality-of-life programs. The Armed Forces Top Enlisted Association (AFTEA) is a non-profit veteran's organization representing the professional and personal interests of active duty and retired men and women of America's Uniformed Services, National Guard and Reserve."

Tire has been removed, repaired, and reinstalled. :banana:No big deal! :sign kewl:Thanks for your information and encouragement. :thumbsup2:This little exercise has given me confidence for the next tasking...splitting the faring and installing the wiring for the GPS and the Buddy Rich cable.

Will do...with a 90 degree bend.

Thank all of you for your replies...got the wheel off and will take it tomorrow for repair. Special thanks to Mike (eusa1) for the phone call and advice. A couple of you asked about taking it to the dealer. I have a great dealer, that would probably do the repair without any problem...only thing is my dealer is 90 miles away...so I will just take care of this one. You all are super!

Almost 80 degrees today...wanted to take the bike for a spin. It wasn't handling properly...thought perhaps tire pressure. Sure enough it was low...while adding air realized that the valve stem was rotted and broken. The bike is only two and 1/2 yrs old...this surprises me. Anyway, I need to get it repaired...I am not much of a mechanic and I am wondering how difficult it is to remove the front wheel. Appreciate any advice.
