  1. Just heard from a friend that Meridian Yamaha, Meridian Mississippi, is closing their doors and going out of business. They are liquidating their stock. Those of you in the area have until 19 January to see what bargains you can find.
  2. Is it possible that someone else on a bike is going thru just before or after you?
  3. RUN...don't walk...away...far away!!!!
  4. On the calendar...will be good to see you all again.
  5. I missed something that may well affect me somewhere along the way as I, too, have an '07 Wing (blue, too). What occurred that is causing you to replace the springs? I know about the bearings (thanks to Tom)...but what's happening that is causing all the maintenance?
  6. Rear wheel removal is very simple on the Wing...it is held on like your car tire...w/lug nuts...just tilt it over remove the lug nuts and the tire comes right off.
  7. We wanted to close 2010 out right! The weatherman cooperated and we put 350 miles on the bike...went up to the hill country to a winery...bought some wine...stopped in Fredericksburg on the way home to have Jaegarschnitzel and a beer (wine for Belinda). Was a great day...and on this day we would like to return all the HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!
  8. I guess saying I can ride all year in San Antonio is not all that impressive. The limitations here are more likely to be too hot! When I had my 550 I would ride as long as the temp did not go below 40 degrees...I was a bit younger then, though.
  9. I read the words...but the pictures say something else all together! I'm just sayin'.
  10. Hoping that your wife's situation improves soon...her health is, of course, much more important than motorcycling. It is very stressful to be ill...to not know the cause makes it even worse. I would ask that you still visit the site...bike or no...this is a great place to "talk" with others. Good luck to you both.
  11. We tried magicjack a couple yrs ago, but, I guess because we have to use satellite internet, calls were so delayed both ways that a conversation was impossible.
  12. When Don says it...there is nothing else to say. I agree about the great extended "family"...I visit this site several times a day as a rule...Ya'll are fantastic!!!!
  13. Everything for these bikes is expensive...it really irritates me when they charge like this and the items are plastic!
  14. This is done at military dining ins and outs as well. It is good to pay homage to those who are no longer physically with us...but will always be remembered.
  15. That's what I enjoy about this site...I'm not sure the ambiguity was buried so deep in my unconsciousness!
  16. Got all three...took a while, though.
  17. Bummer...we will be in Virginia the week of the maint day...that's only a stone throw from where we live...would have been great!
  18. should be against the law for congress to pass laws while under the influence...had to be the case on some of these!
  19. About a month ago we traded the Venture in on a Goldwing. At the time, I expressed that we wanted to still belong to the VR org…a request that was met without any criticism, and I thank you for that. I didn’t think it would be a problem…based on other postings I have seen and the fact that there were all kinds of bikes on our Big Bend trip…without any ill-feelings. Just want you all to know that, I have looked at other sites…in the interest of learning more about the new bike…and to get a feel for what kind of people are out there. I have got to be honest with you…there are no sites or people like there are on this site. Belinda and I have made friendships thru VR.org that I believe will be lasting…regardless of what kind of bike we ride. Gotta tell you, we really appreciate that. Venturerider.org is an extension of Don Nelson…and, whether we are aware of it, or not…the site reflects the integrity, attitude, and demeanor of its founder…another thing for us to be thankful for. Having said that, Belinda and I would like to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Friends like you are a blessing in and of itself. For our friends that may not observe Christmas, we wish you Happy Holidays…in whatever form it may take for you. So dry your eyes and quit trying to look so humble! Looking forward to our get-togethers in the coming year. God bless you all.
  20. Like to join the chorus of "welcome to the vr site"...really good people on the site and the answers are available for any motorcycle questions...and a multitude of other subjects, as well. :BLUE:
