  1. I have satellite internet (all I can get where I live)...there is a limit on the amount of data that I can download in a 24 hour period. My question: when I view something posted that goes to sites like youtube, is this considered downloading? Also, I don't fully understand "streaming". Are the youtube videos "streaming"...are they "downloading"? I know I could call my IP, but I know I will get straight answers from you all...and I can get answers in English that I can understand. Thanks in advance.
  2. I gotta believe you are going to be in soooooo very much trouble!!!!
  3. And RIGHT ON!
  4. Don, Moderators, and Members I want to express my extreme appreciation of this site...and it is due to the above folks. I no longer own a Venture (which I still think is a GREAT bike), but I REFUSE to leave this site...it is the ONE motorcycle site I visit several times a day. As I bought a wing a few months ago, I started looking for sites that have info regarding this bike. There are several out there, and, for the most part, are good to visit. However, these sites allow about any jerk to post...whatever they want to post. Some of these people are really out there, and I find that it really detracts from being able to enjoy the site as much as I do Venturerider.org. I know I don't have to read what they post, and normally I don't. But every once in a while (depending on the topic) I read what they post, hoping it will add something of interest...NOPE, they just want to stir the pot! Stirring the pot can be a fun thing...it is on this site...good natured ribbing of fellow members. But on the sites of which I speak, the comments are caustic...extremely so. I'm not thin skinned...28 yrs in the military ensured that...but, I cringe at some of the things a few of those members post. I know on VR.org these folks would be taken to the wood shed by Don, or the moderators, or the other members...in an effort to get them back in line. Again, thank you to all the aforementioned, for keeping this a site that is ENJOYABLE to visit (as I said, several times a day). You are a great group of people and I thank you for not showing me the door even though I no longer own the bike that brought me to this brotherhood. I will close now, before the tears start to flow (just kidding...I am not THAT moved by it all). Keep on doing what you do...it works!!!!
  5. Glad you could get out and enjoy a ride...the venture is a great bike, you should be able to enjoy for years to come. You certainly have a pretty state to put the miles on it...I really enjoy riding thru MO.
  6. Perry, I'm hoping to make it. Belinda won't be able to as someone needs to stay with her mother. I plan on riding over and back same day.
  7. Is this Saturday's mini-maint day still on?
  8. Great looking bike...you will not be disappointed! I assume you will ride it back home from PA?
  9. Well said, Mr. Bill
  10. Did NOT see that coming...thanks for the great start to my day! (Yes that is sarcasm!!!)
  11. Okay...as long as you are not in the snow plowing business!!! Enjoy your day.
  12. :sign yeah that: For the same reasons you mentioned...I traded my 07 Venture for an 07 Wing about two months ago. I have always been a Honda guy...don't get me wrong we had a great time on the RSV, but already I am riding the Wing much more than I would have the other one. Buy it, ride it, enjoy it!!!!!
  13. I never had the heel shifter until I got the Venture...hated it! Got used to it and actually liked it. Traded for the new bike which does not have a heel shifter...hated it and swore I would replace it with one! Had the bike for a few months and now I am comfortable once again without it. Change can be a bit difficult to deal with.
  14. Kid, that's what you get for doing nothing...imagine what you'll get if you mess with my daughter!
  15. When you get the quotes, just make sure they quote you the same coverages you currently require. So many will just quote the lowest coverages...looks good until you have them bring everything up to what you need. I know this is a "duh" thing...but easy trap to fall into on the spur of the moment.
  16. I am sorry for the loss of your father. Prayers are with you for strength to see you through your sorrow.
  17. 1. Remove gas cap. 2. Drive a second gen under the removed gas cap. 3. Replace gas cap. Just kidding...from what I know reading this site and talking to some of the first gen riders, it is a great bike...just felt obligated to add a little levity.
  18. You're right. It's wild!!!
  19. That is one very long...very wet...ride!!!!
  20. The ones that begin with "United States"
  21. Great job! Miy hats off to you! This obviously took time and effort...want you to know that I, for one, really enjoyed it!
  22. I served 28 years in the Air Force...proud years...and I think the joke was funny...we all (people, in general) have a tendency to take ourselves too seriously. No reasonable person makes fun of the military...fact is, some things are just funny and should be taken in that light. Yes, the services poke jabs at each other, but the bottom line is that those who serve, do so as a part of the whole. We fight among ourselves, but when the chips are down...all pull together to get the job done. Take it easy...you will live longer (and happier). This is a great site, and you all are great people...let's continue working together to keep it that way.
  23. Wasn't aware of this technique.
  24. :BLUE: Nice looking ride...original owner obviously took very good care of it. Sit back now, and enjoy the input you are going to get regarding the seat and any mods that can be done!
  25. On our trip to Big Bend we took some photos, but did not notice that the photo selector was on "video". The videos are very short. I would like to somehow save them as individual photos so I can salvage the original target. Would appreciate any information on how to do so.
