  1. I actually "worked" that tourney last year as a course marshall...didn't get to walk around, but did get to see some of the greats (Els, Zach, Sergio, Daly) it was good, but it is the only golf tourney I have ever seen and didn't know if the drive from San Antonio to Augusta is worth it. Appreciate all the input.
  2. I'm pretty sure the updates are sold to an individual for a specific device...I'm thinking it won't transfer. I have the lifetime updates for my 660...I have had questions and they have been very good about answering...might check their website and submit the question. Good luck.
  3. We are considering trying to get tickets for an upcoming Master's...has anyone ever gone to it...is is worth the time, money, effort? I know golf doesn't appeal to everyone, but I enjoy it and think it might be pretty neat to watch someone who really knows how to play the game.
  4. I posted not too long ago that I really appreciate this site...especially compared to a couple of others that I visit. The responses to Don's original posting enforce that appreciation. This is a good group of people...as with any segment of society, there are usually a few that don't get it. It's not a "Kum Bah Yah" thing...it's just mutual respect. Please don't ruin a good thing!
  5. I have been looking, too...I think the Aluma is the way to go. They appear to be sturdy and the price is not ridiculous.
  6. Don, per our conversation Saturday, you will kick its butt! You've been through tougher times! Good luck my friend...you will be dancing the watusi again before you know it!
  7. I started a very similar posting not long ago...I, too, post few things on the other sites, although there are some good people that do their best to help out. I really do not understand why folks have to be jerks, but they do...just try to glean info and then, when the nastyness starts, punch out. This VR site has a growing number of Wing owners that are most helpful...enjoy the new bike!
  8. Glad your ordeal is over...hope the adjustments go as well!
  9. here is a link to what Tom is talking about...looks fairly easy...(?) http://gl1800riders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217161

Yes (stated the mad scientist)...this one will do well!!!! Behind every "great" man is a loving wife...trying to explain the insanity! Lucy...set the table for another crazy one! :BLUE:
  11. Going to be at Branson for 4-5 days for a reunion with some old military friends. We are going to ride the bike up that way...my question, what are some good rides around that area? I know it is a beautiful area...just want to make sure we make good use of our time.
  12. I may not agree with what you are saying...but, I will defend to the death your right to say it. Freedom sometimes brings irony...case in point...the right of those "people" to protest and spew their hatred at the funerals of those who protected their right to protest! It is really good to see the impact of this...resulting in the interest in the Patriot Guard Riders. You will be proud when you support the missions!
  13. I may come under fire for this, but this is my opinion (not necessarily that of management). Even though we have always liked Honda, we bought a new '07 RSV. It really took some getting used to, but, as others have stated, we did. In the back of my mind I could not get away from the thought that if I could afford it, I would get a Wing. In November of last year we ran across an '07 Wing that we really liked...long story made short, we bought it. Had I purchased this bike back in '07 we would have saved money in the long run. I really liked the looks of the RSV and you won't find a more comfortable stock seat. I second guessed myself for making the change at first, but now I find that I am so much more confident in the Wing (my wife says she can "see" the change in confidence) that I am riding this bike so much more than I did the RSV. To me that is the true indicator...I would take the cage rather than to ride the RSV...I just never really got comfortable with it. Now I find myself looking for reasons to ride the Wing, and find that I ride it whereas before I would drive the truck. Long winded way of saying...don't "settle"...you should be confident in your choice. Had I gone with my druthers in the first place, I would have saved money...and been happier with my choice the past three years.
  14. my S&W .38+ (J-frame) fits nicely in a pocket holster...then in the inside pocket of my vest. I carry because should I ever break down in the middle of nowhere (or on a highway, for that matter) I do not want to be at the mercy of anyone thinking they have easy pickins!
  15. Seems as though a lot of us are doing this...you won't be sorry...you are getting a great bike! Yamaha needs to wake up and introduce gen 3!
  16. I am hearing we can expect $5/gal before the summer is over. Sure hope that is wrong!
  17. Little smart a##e#!!!!
  18. Do I detect an M&E in the making?
  19. I don't think I'm ready to take the plunge just yet...was the extra wheel expensive? Which tire are you going to try...the Pirelli...and will it be a "run flat"?
  20. Have you tried the ct yet? what do you think? the more I read about it, the more I am tempted to give it a try. What say ye?
  21. Thanks for the posting. No matter how old we are or how many hours on the bike...we can all learn something...or at least be reminded!
  22. Definitely GOLF...I love to golf, but it gets in the way of riding!
  23. Good est...I believe it is 394/24hrs
  24. I guess I had better not watch missed tv programs then!
