Hi All so I did a big rid today with my Venture and my father for fathers day and some friends 400 miles total... bike ran great today the odd backfire but I am now thinking this is fuel related put some 94 super gas in it and the backfire seem to go away until the next fuel up at next fuel station where they only had regular.. backfire came back.... but is is not happening as much.. I found it seems to only backfire when letting off the throttle or slowing down... My Major Concern from this trip is... High speeds vibration in front end.. enough to chatter teeth and be uncomfortable in turns at highway speeds 60mph 100km/h .. also has shimmy if you let go of steering a little bit it will start shaking back and forth.. I did read that one thread on bike swimming.. Could this vibration be from wheel bearing... my forks where just done by professionals seals and bushings..

I went riding today and never had a issue with running problems .. Computer still not working properly I think bottom 4 display boxes are lit all times... when I adjusted the shift lever and it seems to be display proper gears when that part is working.... fuel is either always full or 1 bar.. PO tells me I should get 250 miles per tank? not sure if this is true.. he also told me allot of things that have not seem to be true LOL.. but anyways... I have put 1/3 bottle of seafoam in already but I will put full bottle in now.. PO told me that he just had carbs rebuild and synced but I don't trust him anymore.. across the road nieghbour or not.. considering I traded a Boat motor and trailer for it that had not running issues or wiring issues LOL anyways Hopefully everyone here can get me thru it but I think I am getting most things fixed day by day.. still not sure what cause it to stall out.. yesterday.. but yes it was like water or something in fuel Thanks Again for all the Help everyone and Please have a safe weekend of riding, Mike Dennison

Hi ALL I Cleaned Start Switch which was really gunked up.. and got the one contact that is on a spring moving again.. it was sort of melted into the plastic.. But everything seems to be working in that department now and the starter seems to be turning over allot better then before.. computer display still doing the same things as before so I am not actually sure if it is working properly or not.. I did I will get a picture or short video of what it is doing tomorrow to show this better... But since I cleaned switch... I went and filled the bike up with premium fuel and now.. I get about 4 blocks and the bike quits kinda gradually dies with less power and less power until it stalls out then it just turns over and over does not seem to be firing.. wait a few minutes tray again and it starts and runs a few more blocks... Im not sure what the problem is because I did 150 miles today which about 130 miles switch would not start the bike had to jump the siloniod .. so I decided to take it apart switch as told above which fixed this problem start problem and light much brighter.. now I have run a few blocks and it dies...

Hi All Thanks for all the Help.. I spent the day Soldering and fixing and testing wires.. I know have the headlight issues and marker lights all fixed and also upgraded the fuse box to ATO fuses.. Not too sure why Previous Owner had glass fuses wrapped in foil I tested them and found that they where good... But needless I had to fix the problem because Myself I don't like fire between my legs and over a battery and gas tank... anyhow... I know have the headlight working properly and switching and both marker lights are working correctly now.. Hey whats a day of work on wires LOL... I am left with 2 mystery connectors in behind the headlight.. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6f9gi2jxadb2t3j/20160615_193447.jpg?dl=0 This Picture above link shows connector one... 3 wire Black/White Dashes ---> Red/Black Stripe ---> Red/White Dashes The RED/Black Stripe was connected to the Headlight wireing.. I found it had constant power when key was on Not sure what this wire is really for and where it connects https://www.dropbox.com/s/ptm1qn295mwcyw1/20160615_193547.jpg?dl=0 This is 2 Prong Connector.. Blue/White Stripe --> Black/Yellow Stripe Not Sure where this Connector goes either... but PO has a wire jumping two terminals together when I unhook connector it seems to be something to do with dash and computer in dash Last problem I found I am having... Computer Screen.. when in 1st Gear the display shows it is in 3rd gear Fuel Full N ---> Display is Blank --> No Gear showing Fuel Emty No other display funtions showing 2 ---> Display Back on Fuel etc No Gear showing in display 3 ---> Display Works Again No Gear Showing Fuel Showing All Other Gears Display Works No Gears Showing Fuel Showing But in All gears Fuel Showing FULL TANK Display seems to do system checks when ever gear is switched except for in 2nd Thanks Again for All the Help Mike Dennison

Ok.. thanks.. wiring issues have always been my problem area.. but I do know it is not to be like this.. I also round when I took the tank cover off that the PO had wrapped all the fuses with tin foil... tomorrow I am going to be working on upgrading the fuse panel to regular fuses and the headlight issue.. even through I do not really know where to start even looking at the wiring diagram for the bike The headlight does seem to switch but need to put switch about 3 qtrs of the way to high postion..
