It is completely normal for these old bikes to read just shy of red on the temp gauge. Mine usually sits about 3 or 4 needle thicknesses below red durring normal operation. -
After our adventures on the horse named Paulo, it was time for a fish lunch. I couldn't get the kids to try it.

Today was their first time on a horse. Miranda loved it. Christian not so much. My wife had to take a turn.

We went to a party for my niece. They have the coming of age party at 15. We had to get all dressed up. This is my wife and 2 youngest. The church was beautiful. The birthday girl was too. With her parents. This is where the after party was.

Unfortunately beer and tequila had a lot to do with the tattoos. Fortunately I got tattoos I wanted anyway. As far as melting goes, the AC in the car is getting a workout.

So far I've almost been thrown in jail (driving while white), almost been pickpocketed, have eaten a lot of awesome food, got a little drunk and got 2 tattoos with my brother-in-law. Been an awesome trip so far. Pictures to come.

My family and I are off for 2 weeks to Mexico. We will be staying with my wife's family. Due to return late on August 9th. A huge thank you to @Flyinfool for letting us park our car in his driveway while we are gone and for dropping us off/picking us up from the airport. I dont know if we have a help-a-brother out award but he deserves one. Please say a prayer for our safe travels.

Well, despite installing some heavy duty chicken wire fencing, Bambi has utterly decimated my tomatoes and my bean plants are completely gone. All of my pepper plants have gone largely untouched until yesterday. Apparently one of our local four-legged furry dinner's waiting to happen has developed a taste for jalapenos. I have decided to call this year a loss and will attempt again next year. I've got a line on some old dog run fencing from a buddy of mine and I will be installing that next year. And who knows, in a couple months I might get the four-legged critter that's been eating up my garden. At least I know it will be well fed...

Got the caps and installed them. Cylinder number two exhaust (left front) is still heating up slower than the others but significantly faster than before I installed the caps. There is also no performance difference between riding with all four plugged in and cylinder number 2 unplugged. Any ideas oh masterful ones?

Either you are out riding or too angry to type that you didn't get it...?

Please tell me that story is on here somewhere!

Had some salesman sell me this stuff. Said on the container that it's good to be used as fifth wheel grease and a whole bunch of other stuff. Was wondering if anybody has ever tried this on the rear splines or anywhere else? @cowpuc you mentioned in a previous thread that you've used just about everything on the market. Ever try this one? Got the stuff for cheap so I'm not too worried if it doesn't work. I got plenty of other stuff I can slather it on.

Have been having cylinder 2 problems. All of the normal checks seamed normal. Then I got zapped today. Left cylinder 2 unplugged and she ran like she always does. Hooked my inline spark tester up and she ran like a dream and the exhaust pipe heated up like the rest. I'm guessing it is shorting out when plugged in. Cylinder 1 is wrapped the same but I'm guessing is not shorting because the pipe is heating quick like the rear 2. So, where can I get a new set of wires? And wow do these things run good on 3 cylinders. I'm guessing this has been a problem since I got her and never noticed. Lucy is also my first Venture so I had nothing to compare to.

And speaking of yard work... We moved into this house when there was still snow on the ground. I have found that it has three problems. Number one mice, number two wasps, and number three weeds. The first two problems are being dealt with. ( I got a buddy that owns a pest control business.) I cannot for the life of me seem to get rid of all of the weeds on my property. I have tried a couple different brands of weed killer but nothing seems to work. It's almost like I have some sort of Kryptonian superweeds growing all around my house. Anybody have any suggestions?

No sarcasm intended in above post. It really has been a great Sunday.

Doing yard work, playing with the kids, cooking lunch, kids yelling in one ear, wife nagging in the other ear... The all-around American Dream. I wouldn't have my life any other way. Been a great Sunday!

A local "top 40/pop" radio station was asking people why we celebrate the 4th when they called in for music requests. Depressingly, about 80% of the people had no clue or had some misinterpreted story or even said something about winning WW2. The DJ obviously was getting annoyed by this so he went on a short rant about the founding of our country. Not sure he will have a job tomorrow but he earned a heap of respect from me. Its sad how our "education system" is clearly not doing their job.

Happened right in front of my shop. Some 40-something woman sideswiped a 50 something lady on the Harley. The lady in the car wasn't even paying attention. Speeds at the time of the accident or somewhere between 25 and 30 miles an hour. The Harley flipped twice and the woman was sent into the ditch. One of the guys in my shop and I rushed out to check her. Possibly a broken back, for sure broken leg. The lady in the car just said I never saw her. Ride safe out there my friends because you never know what's going to happen.
