DOH..... I forgot that the turn signal bulbs are amber.....DOH!!!!

Has anybody put a 2357 in the front turn signal housings? I was wondering if it changed the blink rate much. The 2357 has the same pin out as the 1157, but more light output, so it also requires more power input. From data Inside the turn housing, the PY21W (aka 7507) turn signal bulb, puts out 24/2.2 CP while the 2357 is rated at 40/3 CP. A 66% increase in light output!!!!! on the bright filament and a 36% increase in the running lamp output!!!!!!! NICE!!!!!!!!!!! Last night I purchased a pair of the 2357 LL (Long Life) bulbs at the local parts store and put in the tail lamp. NICE upgrade in light for only a few cents... It has a rated life of 2,000 hours on the bright filament and 10,000 hours on the dim flament. I will knock off the pin as described above and test it in my front turn signal..... Thanks for the tip!!!! Off to the auto parts store for me. Also to check if I can put 2357's in the rear turn signals.....Light up both filiments when turning.

The bulb is also known as: PY21W I am looking for a replacemnet that puts out 34 CP or better. Any sujestions?

How do I check the CB antenna location?
KiteSquid replied to Midrsv's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Turn off the CB. Turn off the bike. Remove one antenna. if the FM radio does not work, you remove the one that is WIRED to the FM radio.... My bike came from teh shop with them switched during instalation.... Also, does it matter what side the CB is on?????? -
They actualy could be halogen!!!! I have not tried halogen auxilary lamps in a bike yet, but I had halogen backup lamps in a car once. Dont forget about 2356 bulbs....

IIRC Brainard does not have a roadside attraction and none are listed at Brainard's web site HERE IIRC there is a Giant Pike in Baudette MN, Garrison MN and Garrison North Dakota here is a photo of the one in Baudette and it is named Willie the Waleye http://ci.baudette.mn.us/vertical/Sites/%7B21C036DF-0831-4AF5-964F-F27EC85ABE06%7D/uploads/%7BB023E728-087C-483C-8EAD-7EDD6AE59260%7D.JPG I found this photo on the interent. The Giant Prarie Chickne is in Rothsay MN, just up the road from Brainard http://www.wlra.us/wl/wlprchkn.jpg I also found this photo on the interent.

I would say around $13,500 Go to Cycle Trader.com and get the lowest price for a new one and start there. I was going to fly one way to Ohio to get my 2007, but I found one about 60 miles from home at just a bit more $... Like $13,700 before tax and tag........ Good luck and let us know what you pay!!!!! BTW you can have my 2007 for $13,500... Or my 1950 Harley FL for $18,000.

It's just you...... I like to sleep INSIDE the house!!!!!
-
He said a tank, he did not specify if it was a piece of military ordnance or a vessel for storing quantities of liquids... there is even a gas tank on the bike next to your bike.... I just don't have my digital camera handy, or I'd already have it....

I would not install it in my bike.

Water bottle set up
KiteSquid replied to emack's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Good idea, but I don't think it will work for me as I ride 2 Up with MrsSquid quite often and it looks like it would impinge on her leg room. -
They teach you to practice handling your bike at low speeds, where if you make a mistake, it just scratches your chrome and bends your ego.... but once you master it a low speeds your high speed handling will be MUCH improved!!!!!!!!!!!! non-shrink wire tubing
KiteSquid replied to KiteSquid's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Thanks for the help so far, but what I am looking for does NOT look like this: http://images.cableorganizer.com/wire_loom/flame-retardant-wireloom.jpg It looks more like wire insulation, but without the wire in it, but it is big enough to run 2-4 wires thru it... Look at your factory horn to see what I am refering to, as I dont have a camera handy.... -
I went to my local dealer and was told that I cannot buy the black wire tubes that they use on the wiring harness in the factory. Does anybody know where I can get some in different sizes? I cannot find it in all my internet searches? I am not looking for heat shrink tubing or the split loom that is used on most cars. I want my wireing mods to look like they were done in the factory.

I split my fairing to raise the front end back to stock as I got a speed wobble after I lowered it, and apparently I did not fully seat all the connectors for the stereo as it cuts in and out. Grumble, grumble, grumble...... Now I have to split the fairing again to re-seat all the connectors... I might as well run the wiring for some driving lights at the same time..... AND I don't have the time to do it over the next three weeks, so I will be riding, listening to the mechanical music, not Pink Floyd et al..... Grumble, grumble, grumble......

Your headlamp is not sealed beam, it takes an H4 bulb. I put in a H4 SERIES INTENSE WHITE bulb and am quite happy!!!!!!!!! Street legal, as apposed to putting in a HID kit, and they are quite affordable!!!! Piaa also makes that bulb in an H3 which can be put into your passing lamps if you put in the proper housing. IIRC Yamaha makes a housing that takes two H3 bulbs..........But check before purchasing!!!!!!! they are from the Roadliner and when I put on passing lamps, I will choose them!!!!!!! http://www.motorcycletoystore.com/cruiser/images/uploads/yam_pass_lmps.jpg

Fender Ornament Stock?
KiteSquid replied to Mordalo's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
NOPE, it is a finder lamp from an old Harley. I have one on my 1950 FL. Look in the Harley aftermarket catalogs....for reproductions. You might remove it and look inside it for some manufacturer's identifying marks. -
Might I suggest viewing Ride Like A Pro V DVD.... I have it and I dont think I will drop my bike again.....as I am now truly learning how to ride my bike.
