You are quite correct. I do not know what I could have done incorectly as I followed the factory service manual and my torque wrench set is calibrated. Is there something wrong in the procedure? If so, PLEASE tell us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck to you and ride safely!!!!!

Number of years of experience does not equate to proficiency level. I KNOW that I repeated the same mistakes over and over...

How involved are MC inspections in your State?
KiteSquid replied to Tartan Terror's topic in Watering Hole
They have an inspection here in VA. I have not yet had my 2007 RSV inspected..... but it is coming up. Somewhere on the internet is the VA inspection, as some guy was complaining about the headlamp inspection.... I dont think they have to ride it, but the inspector has to have the MC inspecting training... so most car inspectors cannot inspect a bike also.... BTW I DO NOT LIKE my local Stealership.... -
Buy a bike!!!! Sometimes I find it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

The Yo-Yo is a GREAT Idea!!!!!!!! I just hope some punk kid does not push your bike over trying to steal it....

Who else has tride this product? I Use RejeX on the windshield, mirrors, chrome and paint on my bikes and cages. One product does it all. It was developed for the US Military for use on helicopter canopies, and it works GREAT!!!!!!!!! http://www.corrosionx.com/gifs/Rejex.jpg Click the bottle above to go to CorrosionX’s web site!!!!! GET some by clicking HERE Or you might try your local True Value Hardware store!!!!!!!!!! I buy at least two bottles at a time to save on shipping. I use it on all my cages and bikes.... paint, glass, and hard plastics to include bike windshields and the headlight housings on my cages..... This is the BEST product I have EVER used, and I have tested MANY products over the years. This is GREAT STUFF!!!! Goes on easy, comes off easier and protects for a long time!!!!!!

OR take the lowest price and bring it to your local dealer to see if they will beat it.....they usually do. I saved THOUSANDS on each of my 2005 Honda Odyssey, 2006 Honda Accord and 2007 RSV that way!!!!!!!!
-
They are just fine in the rain. of course, check your tire tread over the entire tire!!!!! front and rear!!!! before the trip!!!! Also check the tire pressures!!!!!! Dress for the weather and you will get cold quicker, so plan for more stops to get hot beverages!!!! Drink plety of water to offset the dehydration effects of caffene if you drink it! 8 extra ounces of water to evey 90mg of caffene (one 6 oz cup of coffee.)

Does anyone ride with no windshield ?
KiteSquid replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
When I had my fairing appart, I went for a test drive and WOW there was a LOT of wind pressure on my face and chest eve at low speeds. i love my big windshield!!!! -
IIRC the owners manual tellls you how to replace the bulb from the rear, and I did it, with sausage like fingres and hands like hams... it was not easy, but dooable.

Poor Man's Brake lamp and turn signal upgrade
KiteSquid replied to KiteSquid's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
If you have been following this thread, I have updated the first post with information on the 3496 and H1157 bubls. Thanks for reading and PLEASE provide feedback!!!!! -
I dont recomend lowering the front end of the RSV. I got a wicked speed wobble on mine on the first trip, so I raised it back up that night!!!!!!! Lowering the front end of my bike was probally one of the dumbest things I have ever done to a motorcycle!!!!! I recomend that you get the narrower front tire insted. Skip the Leveling Links also!!!!!! Get the Ride Like a Pro V DVD ASAP!!!!!!!!! and LEARN how to properly ride a motorcycle. Attend the MSF riders couse too!!!!!!! EVERY YEAR!!!!!! I KNOW that I need better riding skills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I practice the techniques EVERY time I ride my bike!!!!!!!
-
Not in production yet, but it looks like a lot of fun!!!!!!!! At under $50k it would be out of my budget, but if I had more money than brains I would be the second in line!!!!!!

I have a 1950 Harley-Davidson FL for sale. It is a 74 CID motor (1212 CC). It is QUITE the head turner!!!!!!!! With it's kick start, tank shift and rigid frame from the factory. It has a windshiled, saddle bags and the buddy seat. All tin is original including the hinged rear fender, however the oil tank was chromed by a previous owner. It even still has the Jiffy Stand on the rear end for easy road side rear tire patching, which was paramount in 1950!!!!!!! However it is priced out of your stated range.

I lowered mine too. But when I got speed wobbles, I put it back to stock and decided to really LEARN how to ride a bike. So I got Ride Like A Pro V.

Oil and Filter (I know)
KiteSquid replied to star4772's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Dont forget about the Amsoil filters EAOM103 - if you want the stock size filter. EAOM103C- if you want the stock size filter in a chrome finish. EAOM102 - if you want the taller filter. I have one on my bike and it is a tight fit....(I dont recomend it....) I buy the Amsoil filter or the PureOne filters...
