That would be quite legal and OK. I have a copy of Ride Like a Pro IV and V, so I don't need the #4 and will put it up here for anybody who wants it. FREE, but they have to agree NOT to copy it, and to pass it along for FREE to the next person. The sender pays the postage, NOT the recipient, so no money changes hands. I will start a new thread on this so people can request it....... Click HERE to go there.

So how do you guys mount your mug?
-
To answer you question, the Stebel Nautilus Compact air horn draws 18 Amps at 12 Volts (From the tech info tab at Stebel's web site) IIRC there is someone here with two Nautilus Compact horns on his RSV. If you are mourning two might I suggest you do something a little different???? Mount a Nautilus Compact Horn that produces fundamental notes at 530 and 680 Hz 115dB at 2 Meters or 139dB at four inches and mount a Nautilus Compact Truck horn that sounds a single fundamental note at 300 Hz at 110dB at 2 meters (I just purchased one on ebay for $35 but you might bid lower... plus 10 for shipping.) That would give you 300, 530 and 680 Hz notes...... go to their web site to hear the tones. I am looking at where I can mount the compact truck horn on my bike. I will have to assume it has the same current requirement of the compact as the compressor looks similar. So can the stator handle a short term load at 36 amps???? That comes to 432 watts. OUCH Or for something different in a larger package you might look at the NEW Nautilus Brio horn........ one horn, three fundamentals. and three different honking patterns......... WOO HOO!!!!! but it is much bigger than the compact, and the red parts need a coat of black paint, IMHO.

My locking device is provided by Progressive Insurance Company.

The OXO Stainless Steel travel mug is vacuum insulated. I have one and it is NICE. Stays nice and warm for quite a while. DO NOT buy the painted versions as they are NOT vacuum insulated!!!!!!!!!!! Look in your local area to save on shipping. IIRC I have found them in Marshal's type stores and in Bed, Bath and Beyond type stores....... I cannot commet on the Nissan product as I don't have any experience with them. Their website is HERE

I assume different distances, and possibly different weighting systems...... the horns look quite similar.....
-
I found on Stebel's website HERE that the Compact Nautilus horn is rated 115dB at 2 meters and 139 dB at 4 inches. these are A weighted measurements. I cannot find ANY information on how they measured the horn at Wolo's web site HERE I have sent them an e mail...... BTW I have a Stebel Compact Nautlis installed on my RSV.

Something strange going on with my bike
KiteSquid replied to ediddy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Dont forget that when you shake the tank, you are actually shanking the entire bike and you are correcting a diffrent problem............ -
I would like to do a side by side comparrison of the two horns with a sound pressure level meter (I have one) to make it as objective as possiable. Who in my area has a Wolo installed???? I have the Stable horn on my bike. Teh Wolo is rated at 118db but at what distacne??? The Stebel is 139db at four inches......

You can never get 100% of the used oil out of a motorcycle motor as the oil is shared with the transmission and there is a lot of surface area in the gears also in the oil passages. I assume the 4.6 Qt is for the initial fill, or after rebuilding. Like tew47 said above, fill to the center of the sight glass NO HIGHER!!!!!!

I went to my multi-brand dealership to get some Honda Moly60 Paste grease however the parts counter did not stock it, so I had a tube special ordered for me. SO, I would have to ASSUME that the service department does not use it......... Does your local dealership stock it??????????

Time to grease Clutch Hub Drive Pins
KiteSquid replied to jryan's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I will probably lube the rear on my bike myself for two reasons: 1) I will use Honda Moly60 grease, as it is probably the best lube for the job and my local dealer may or may not use it. 2) I find it relaxing to wrench on my bike....... -
Good idea, but how do you use it on a four cylinder bike like the RSV???????
-
The problem with lowering ANY bike is you loose ground clearance, which makes it so you cannot corner as tight. Did you think about modifying the seat instead of lowering the bike???? More info is available on the Ride Like a Pro V DVD. I am not affiliated to the producer of this video, just a believer in the techniques!!!!

They don't break, they just don't filter the oil as well as other filters on the market. The two best filters on the market are the Amsoil EaO and the Purolater Pure One. Check the lab test results. Yes the Fram filters oil, but not at the levels that other filters do. I plan on keeping my RSV for many years so the cleaner I keep my oil, the longer it should last. If you plan on keeping your bike for less than 10 years, put any filter on it. If you want 200,000 miles out of it, use a high end filter.

They are quite diffrent.
