What does the owner's manual that came with the trailer say about loading? There should be some info on the trailer about loading and tire pressures.

Windshield & handlebar question
KiteSquid replied to raceman62race's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Here is a honda goldwing vent in a clearvew windshiled (not a RSV but it works in our windhields too.) http://www.clearviewshields.com/shop/prodphotos/motorcycle_windshields_ffab7103c.jpg EASY to use with a gloved hand. -
Oldseadog, Thanks for the comments. Have you looked at a book called Proficient Motorcycling: The Ultimate Guide to Riding Well by David L. Hough? It has a LOT more tips on how to survive on the roads especially how to look for hazards ahead. Forewarned is forearmed.

Yes, but you take the risk of it puking out the vents if you get it too near the upper fill mark.
-
BuddyRich is correct. There is a thread somewhere here that talks about how to rotate the sensor to get it more toward the rear of the pan... but it is not a big deal. Just make sure your oil level is in the MIDDLE of the oil level window when parked level and the bike is vertical. That or just don't accelerate as hard........

Had front lowered by dealer

Another option that does not change the handling of the bike is to get the seat reshaped. Maybe narrower or to shave a little off the top. In RLAP V DVD the instructor talks about this. -

If you don't have it, the factory service manual is available for FREE in PDF format. look for the VRTech link on the left side of every page here at the GREATEST RSV forum!!!!! -
Windshield & handlebar question
KiteSquid replied to raceman62race's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You can also install a Honda Gold Wing vent in your stock windshield. -
Me to!!!! The Diesel Electric submarines had LOTS of lead acid batteries to run the boat when submerged. these banks of batteries would discharge on their own. this was because the batteries were colder at the bottom than the top, or so I was told, so the navy had to go back and insulate the batteries to try to keep them at a constant temperature top to bottom.

Report him to eBay!!!!

There has to be enough power left in the battery for the computer to fire the ignition... Or a long enough hill to make the alternator to generate enough power. This is where a switch to turn off the headlamp would be usefull.
-
Placing batteries on concrete will not cause them to discharge. OB-1, Thank you for pointing out my error. I stand corrected. After reading your post I did a little research to back up my claim I found that while my claim was true in it's time, it no longer is true. This is from the Trojan Battery Company website in the FAQ section:

Don't put them on bare concrete as the induced internal temperature difference will discharge it over time... Just put them on a scrap of wood at least 1/2" thick for thermal insulation. This was learned in WWII Diesel Electric submarines.

Good idea, but that does not allow much time to learn from it, especially in the winter when PRACTICE time is rare. To view it quicker there is a $34.95 alternative. Click HERE to find out more. Be sure to ask for the VentureRider Forum discount.

So if I understand this correctly, the Roadstar master cylinder has a 14mm bore that is 1.875mm smaller than the 2nd RSV master cylinder at 5/8".

Passing Lamp Option
KiteSquid replied to Long Tall's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If you have the sealed beam lights, there are other sealed beam bulbs that fit.... Search for PAR36 size bulbs with a 12-14V rating, and whatever beam shape and wattage you want......as long as the charging system can keep up!!!!! I am thinking about the H4460X bulb as it has two 40-Watt filaments with a beam that is 22 degrees wide and 10 degrees tall for one filament and 22 degrees wide and 13 degrees tall for the other. you could run a wire to both filaments, run one for low and the other for high, or just use one as a spare....... BUT they are about $31 EACH. -
06 venture tires and radio...
KiteSquid replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
As far a I know, the leveling links raise the rear end of the bike. This reduces the trail of the steering, making the bike respond quicker to steering inputs. HOWEVER IMHO, nothing can replace good instruction and lots of PRACTICE !!!!!!!!!!! Something that I do NOT get enough of. In stock trim, the bike is rated with a minimum turning radius of 3500mm (137.8 inches or 11 feet 5.8 inches) (Please see your owners manual, page 9-1). Who can make a circles in under 12 feet???? the only way I know how to do it, is to practice. I don't know the math, but those with either the leveling links, or the narrower front tire installed, should be able to make circles tighter than what is listed in the owners manual. So, if you need to turn tighter, get the leveling links or the narrow front tire, if you want to make circles and U turns in about 11.5 feet, get professional instruction and PRACTICE!!!! -
GO NAVY!!!!!!! Stand Navy out to sea Fight our battle cry: We'll never change our course So vicious foes steer shy-y-y-y Roll out the T. N. T. Anchors Aweigh Sail on to victory And sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray! Anchors Aweigh my boys Anchors Aweigh Farewell to foreign shores We sail at break of day day day day Through our last night ashore Drink to the foam Until we meet once more Here's wishing you a happy voyage home! Blue of the Mighty Deep Gold of God’s Sun Let these our colors be Till all time be done On seven seas we learn Navy’s stern call Faith, Courage, Service True With Honor Over, Honor Over All.

2009 RSV MSRP $18,190-18,690 2009 H-D Ultra Classic $20,990-$$$$$$$$$$$$ Plus $795 for the ABS So before options you will spend $4,000 less on a new RSV (at MSRP, but who pays that???? not me, in 2007 I got my NEW 2007 RSV for $13,800) than a H-D Ultra Classic with 5 year warranty and without ABS.... BTW does anybody want a Pan Head?
