2006 is under the 5 year warantee.... I would take it to the dealership and have them fix it. -
Updating signal light lens

Most dealerships sell only one RSV per year... -
Note to Yamaha: Sense you should be tooling up for the 3rd Gen RSV by now, this is a little late, but if you are reading this I would prefer to have the trunk hinge to the side instead of forward on the 3rd gen RSV. Also some high mount brake and running lights built into the trunk, like on some of the H-Ds... Oh and the power of the VMax motor before you detuned it for production..... a full dresser with 250 HP would be WICKED, but you probably would not like to have your dresser out 1/4 mile run your muscle bike............. but a dresser that woudl shut down the 'Busa riders would be TOO COOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All, I like the look of the Vmax with the trunk and bags, but some exhaust mods would be in order to keep from blistering the paint on the bags...

Recommended Tie Down Procedure?
KiteSquid replied to GG54172's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Another thing to remember is all loads tend to move forward in transit, this is because most drivers tend to break harder than they accelerate. Make sure the bike cannot move forward or aft. -
Now there is a thought........ I am going to fly a kite here at my desk at work now. Realy!!!!!! I make kites that have only one square inch of sail area that fly on a line that is about 1/12 the size of sewing thread.

Mixure adjustments???/

http://ccspecialties.org/seafoam.jpg Click on the image of the can above to go to Seafoam's web site. Read the MSDS for safe handling. Seafoam is a fuel system cleaner that also has alcohol to dry and liquid water out of the fuel (a big problem for boats stored in the water due to condensation in high humidity environment) and fuel stabilizer. To save a few bucks if you are just wanting the fuel system cleaner properties of Seafoam as an alternative is to use Coleman, or other brand of Camp Fuel at about 50% the concentration that you would use Seafoam as it does not have the alcohol that Seafoam has. I found this at www.answers.yahoo.com After reading the MSDS for both products, I would have to agree.- 11 replies

I have never had to add oil to any of my bikes between oil changes, except for my 1950 H-D FL... but that was before I changed it over to a belt primary.

Even I can load a MP3 player with music and use it on my RSV. I agree that Clarion made using the radio a PITA but they did try to use as few buttons as possible to get the job done. Look at the radio control on a Honda Valkyrie Interstate.... WOW it has a LOT of buttons!!!!! Purchasing a MP3 Player will probably cost you less than the cost of a new head unit and any unit will not be able to use the controls that are on the left hand grip.... also you would probably loose the integrated CB radio which is quite useful in group rides. I picked up a 2 GB MP3 player for not a lot of $$$$ and Velcroed it to the front brake master cylinder. Easy to use and I can take it off and use it when I am not riding the bike. If you do want to replace the head unit, I would recommend you look at the units in the H-D Ultra Classic to retain the CB functionality, but you might have to buy a lot of expensive parts...

Clear and copious!!!!!!!!! a good indication IF you are drinking enough water is the color and quantity of your urine. HOWEVER this is from Wikipedia:

it is a stuck float. Run more sea-foam or camp fuel thru with the gasoline to dissolve it, if possible. You can tap on the sides of the bowls with a plastic screwdriver handle to try to dislodge the debirs, but this may not remove it from the fuel system, just drop it to the bottom of the bowl, but you might open the drain screws to hope it drops out.... OR there is a procedure posted here at the forum describing how to put pure sea-foam in the carbs (I would use camp fuel as it costs less per gallon) or an air compressor to try to dislodge the debris. Lots of help HERE (search of the word Float in the 2nd gen tech talk section of the forum.) If not, you MIGHT have to rebuild your carbs...

That is an air horn. you might have debris in the compressor. First, disconnect the connector and press the horn button to see if the headlamp is not dimming.... if it is still dimming, you probably have a short in the wire leading to the horn, if not check the horn. run a jumper to from the horn + side to the battery. Connect a wire to the - side of the battery and then touch it to the horn... if you get a loud honk, then it is not the horn, it is the wireing leading to the horn. If you don't get a good honk, but hear a buzz, like a stalled electric motor you have debris lodged in the compressor. Clean the compressor with some WD-40 like spray.....

When you said Can I assume that you replaced the Schrader valve with a new one? You might try replacing it again...7 PSIG is not not a lot of pressure to help seal the valve. I don't know if Yamaha installed a special Schrader valve in the front forks.... but you might compare the part numbers for them to the ones in the rear shock and the tires to see if it a special design. Also while you are in the parts list, look for the seals in the forks, this will show you where it could leak. BTW does your bike have a aftermarket part that connects both forks together to air them up in one shot? there might be a leak in it...

Eck et al, I recognized the usual suspects URLs as bike parts retailers, but I did not actually click on all the links as once I recognised the first three, I glossed over the last one as an online bike parts retailer, not as the manufacturer... sorry. I went to the Weekend Concepts website and found the lights. as stated above, they are housings that take either the MR16 (Bullet types) or MR11 (Micro Bullet types) series bulbs, similar to the Kuryaken lamps. These are interesting lamps. As far as mounting them, somewhere on the web I have seen studs that are SAE on one end and Metric threaded on the other, if this is problem that Reed is referring to. or buy a piece of un-threaded rod, and thread one end metric and the other SAE. Or you can buy a bolt that has one of the threads you need that has an un-threaded section, cut the head off, and thread the other side with the other thread...

Windshield & handlebar question
KiteSquid replied to raceman62race's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
YES. there are instructions somewhere, and you can buy the kit at either a local Honda dealership or from one of the on-line places. They are not cheep, nor are they inexpensive. They are the ones that Clearview puts in their windshields. -
Thanks, but do you have the Manufacturer's URL?????? I cant find it. BTW those look like they take the MR16 or MR11 size bulbs.... in-case you want a different wattage or beam pattern.
-
Can you provide a URL to the manufacturer's web site with a part number of the light you are looking at? I cant seem to find them on the internet.

Which bike are you referring to? Is it the the Venture Royal, the Royal Star Venture, or the Royal Star Tour Deluxe? I am confused as this post does not sate what bike it is, and is posted in the Watering Hole section of the forum. i just want some clarification to see if it might apply to my bike, a Royal Star Venture, so I can look out for this when I do have to remove a motor support brace bolt. Thank you in advance. Update: I will have to assume that it does apply to my bike as I will also assume that you are referring to the Royal Star Venture as when I looked at your public profile it states: Thanks for the GREAT tip.

BTW, I understand that narrower also helps.....

HEET is NOT necessary as there is quite a bit of alcohol in the Sea Foam.... just not 99% like in HEET brand products. Also adding any additive to your fuel you will change the Octane, and BTU/LB figures, so it MIGHT change
