Put em on!!! You should NOT have to re-jet the carburetors. BUT as a standard maintenance item to any four cylinder motor with four carburetors, you should synchronize the carburetors. I do at every oil change, now that I have a four channel Mercury manometer

Can you make a set of amber 3W LEDs to replace the stock turn signals in my 2nd Gen RSV? How about a 3W red to go into the brake light? It would also need some white LEDs to light up the license plate. I want LOTS more light from my turn signals and brake lamps... If you need a field tester, I volunteer!!!!!

To expand on what eusa1 said. There are MANY different LEDs on the market. The emitter puts out a set quantity of light. this light can be shaped into any beam pattern by the optics on it, be it a lens, reflector or a combination of them. On a tail light, you want a wide spread of light, up to a hemisphere of light. On a flashlight you want a narrow spread of light, normally a cone that is 3 to 12 degrees wide. IF you take the same amount of light and put in in a 12 degree beam or a hemisphere, the viewer will see more light in the tight beam of the flashlight, but someone that is 20 degrees off axis will see very little light. SO with that said, the brake light of you bike should be as bright as you can afford to make it.

I have never sat on a fence.

The H4 bulbs are DOT approved. the only DOT requirement for an H4 bulb is the high beam is 60 watts MAX and the low beam is 55 watts maximum. the wattage is power consumption NOT light output, so the standard is kinda antiquated. PIAA also makes some lamps for off road use only....... the disclaimer applies to those lights.

Lock her up!!!!!!

PIAA’s Intense White bulbs are, IMHO, the best deal going for an H4 bulb. Click HERE to read more. Friends don't let friends buy Sliverstars.....

I leave mine on reserve, but I do rotate it every time I fuel up to make sure it does not stick in that position...... If I ever need to take off the fuel tank I want to be able to shut off the fuel flow......

LEDs pull low current for thier light output compared to incadecant or halogen bulbs. What are the specs for the LEDs you want to install???? I just looked up some 18000 MCD LEDs and they pull 20mA at 3V, so that is 0.06 Watts.... So if you used up 100 watts of power (what two 50 watt driving lights draw) you could power about 1000 of them... with thier matching resistors....without problem.

I agree that the 15" LED Stop/Tail/Turn light mounted under the trunk is a GREAT addition to the RSV. Please read THIS thread for an INEXPENSIVE upgrade to the factory stop and turn lamps.

Boxster, like the Gold Wing. note there are three exhaust pipes coming out of the engine on each side. http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/Gallery/Honda%20F6C%20Interstate%2000.jpg In-line 6 would be a Honda CBX http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b1/Honda_CBX_Engine_Detail.jpg To narrow the engine you can make oval pistons like the cylinders on the left in the photo below. http://www.ibiblio.org/tkan/audi/audi-misc/oval2.jpg Note: all photos harvested from the Internet

Cell phone and a credit card. Dont forget that these bikes come with a five year warentee!!!!!!! Oh, and all the stuff in those two other threads that answer this same question...

Again with the oil question
KiteSquid replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just be sure to soak the new friction material in engine oil for several hours before installation.... OR you have a chance of burning them up quickly. -
I downloaded the manuals and put them on my PC at work, so I can search them electronically when I have a question. The manuals are free in PDF format.

I could not find the video on YouTube. Can somebody please provide a URL????? UPDATE: I think I found it... is it this video: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YabokBNlBF8&NR=1]YouTube - Westboro Baptist Church- Cincinnati OH[/ame]

I would NOT paint it. I would rather spend the money on gas and hotels to see the USA from the saddle of a bike. The color of my bike is the lowest of all priorities for riding enjoyment for me. Rider and passenger comfort, power, ease of riding all take a MUCH higher priority for me than the color. When I bought my MMVII RSV I took the blue one as I don't like black bikes as they need to be washed too often. If they made a bike that was road dirt color, I would buy it, so I would not have to wash it... Just my $0.025 worth.....

If it were still in production I would buy a Honda Valkyrie Interstate http://www.jerryeasley.com/Portals/0/valkyrie.jpg Dual headlights, a boxter 6 cylinder engine (low center of gravity) with LOTS of HP!!!!! and torque!!!! HUGE gas tank, powerful stereo and a large alternator!!!! Water cooled!! and I love the four trunk mounted tail lights. Nice and high up!!!! IF it was in production today, it would have the 1800 cc fuel injected engine that is in the GW. It would be a killer bike. Sadly Honda decided to take this bike out of production in 2002 and there is no rumors that it will come back into production, so I will just have to wait to see what Yamaha does with the 3rd Gen RSV........

Replacement Driving Lights
KiteSquid replied to jpalese's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
the sealed beam lamps are PAR36 size. Try post 14 in [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32233]THIS[/ame] thread You should be able to get these locally from a lighting distributor..... or search the part number on the Internet. Sadly, you probably will not find them at a motorcycle parts store. What beam shape do you want???????????? Wide, or narrow????? I like about 11 degrees wide to show the ditches, but I like about 5 degrees wide or narrower for driving. -
Some questions before I answer.... What shape of beam pattern are you looking for? Where do you want to install them? What is your budget?
