  1. I cant be there as my calendar is kinda full, but Culpeper is only 1.5 hours from SquidAcres.........I would really LOVE to see this type of event in person!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saturday is a no go for me, as my American Legion Riders chapter is having a pork BBQ that day.
  2. I am amazed that the 2nd Gen RSV passes the EPA Tier 2 emissions standards for motorcycles that comes into effect for the 2010 model year. I am happy with my MMVII model year, so I have to wait for the 3rd Gen RSV in 2011 or 2012 to make my next buying decision.
  3. Look up Harley's Nova engine program...... GREAT idea, too bad the did not put it in production . I like the radiator placement!!!!! it would keep the driver cool in the summer!!!!!!! Click HERE for an article on the Nova engine.
  4. 70 (inch pounds) = 5.83333333 ft pounds
  5. Hit it and HOLD it there!!!! You will NOT hurt the motor at those low RPM....... Yamaha was CONSERVATIVE with this set point.
  6. That ROCKS!!!!
  7. Camp Fuel is my choice for corrective and preventative maintenance. About $8 a gallon. Seafoam went up to $8 per pint near me. In my experience, Camp fuel comes in at 128th the cost per use compared to Seafoam....as you use 1/2 the camp fuel as it does not have alcohol in it, like Seafoam does.
  8. waterbug, Do you have four fingers on your left hand? Are you using all four fingers on your left hand to squeeze the clutch lever?
  9. Ask him to post a photo of the sticker on the frame that lists the VIN and Model year..... It could be a salvage bike. It could be a salvage bike that is not registered as a salvage bike. Is there a forum member that lives in the Tidewater region of VA that can go take a look at the bike? I am unavailable this weekend to run down....sorry.
  10. Do you mean H7600 bulb?
  11. Redesign it so it does not get hit if someone installs Barons riser extensions........
  12. Yes they are the best in some ways. They don't go out of adjustment and they are the most accurate, as they use Mercury as the measuring media. The down sides are the oxides of mercury are toxic, and you have to drain it to transport it. If you keep it out of reach of children, don't eat, drink or smoke while using it and wash your hands after use, you should have no problems with it. I have a set I bought about six months ago new.
  13. It looks like the model in the video has only one turbine in it..... I wonder if someone has one with two turbines in it. IIRC those turbines cost $10,000 each.
  14. PLEASE post a full size picture!!!!!!!
  15. If it is a sealed beam, than pick a PAR36 size lamp with the wattage and beam pattern you think would help you see or be seen better.
  16. Holy potato mashers!!!!! What a cool toy!!!!!!!!!
  17. My dealer did them for free at my 600 mile maintenance, but now I have a set of Mercury Manometers, so I adjust the linkages myself.
  18. send the photos ASAP!!!! They probally are looking for bikes for their calander!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have NEVER seen a custom bike MADE by Yamaha.
  19. I have a set of Barron's risers on my bike so you can check them out when you come for a visit to SquidAcres....
  20. lylejt, Do you have the sealed beam lamps or the H3 Lamps???????
  21. I did not have to remove the tank to synchronize my carbs.....
  22. If you don't challenge yourself, you don't grow!!!!!!! It is EASY to change the final drive lube!!! Also while you are there, you can drop the rear tire, pull off the final drive and properly lube your drive-shaft splines, spline that connects the final drive to the clutch hub, and the clutch hub drive pins. Use Honda Moly 60. and use it sparingly... I applied it with an Acid Brush from the plumbing department of the hardware store that I cut the bristles off to about 1/4" long. 200 miles is no problem, but you do want to change the final drive gear lube soon, to get the metal shavings out... Look at it in the sun when you drain it....... OOOOOH, shiny. me too. BTW use some red locktight on the hinge bolt for your shift lever, or it will fall out!!!!!!
  23. Something that is 100% Synthetic GL-5 and I put a pea sized ball of Honda Moly 60 grease in with it. Oh, and I change the gear lube every time I chnage the engine oil..... I have it on the jack, I might as well change the gear lube......
  24. I'll second that!!!!!!! Look in your owners manual for the MINIMUM turning radius of these bikes..... If you can use the bike to it's limit, you will have PLENTY of room!!!!!!!! I dont quite have it... yet.... but I am working on it.
  25. my first bike was a 1981 Kawasaki KZ1100D Spectre. I am LUCKY to be alive today.
