  1. YES!!!!!! IMHO, this should be an annual maintenance..... A motor vehicle needs to be able to accelerate and maintain speed, but it HAS to be able to DECELERATE and STOP!!!!!!!!!
  2. Can you buy a Honda Gold Wing GL1800 and trike it??? The GW comes with reverse from the factory.
  3. I use Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic oil in the one gallon jug. It is JACO MA certified so meets Yamaha's warranty specification. It has a SAE 40 rating at operating temperature. the only difference is it is 5w instead of 10w at start-up so your engine starts easier when it is colder as the oil flows more freely when cold. It is currently on sale for $19 at my local Advance Auto Parts store.... Look for the blue jug http://img1.classistatic.com/cps/kj/100326/560r3/12779kh_19.jpeg
  4. They are more like a passing lamp that a driving lamp with a 25° beam spread. The rated output of 320 Lumens is good.... when used as a pair like on the passing lamps for a motorycle. The $39.95 price tag is good to... Too bad I dont have a RSV anymore to put them in. Have any of you seen the LED passing lamps and headlights that Harley is now selling????? They look SWEET, but at a much higher MSRP.........
  5. ANY mechanical measuring device can go out of calibration. With a gauge type you have four gauges so you have four mechanisms. The Mercury type cannot go out of calibration, but there are the above mentioned toxicity issues. I personally have a set of Mercury sticks...... Oh and you may want to read the thread at THIS link
  6. YUP, it is FREE..... I'll even provide you with a FREE URL to click on to get everone here to the FREE download. Just click on the text below: FREE I forgot, but did I mention that it is FREE??????

  8. This might be your lucky day!!!!!! I have a set I did NOT install before I totaled my RSV and purchased a Honda Goldwing Airbag, so I don't need the braces..... PM me with an offer to include shipping.
  9. I have the same problem, I am trying to teach myself to keep my feet on the boards no matter what..... it is tough for me, but I am trying.
  10. INTERESTING..... USAA does not insure motorcycles in Virginia, so when I called USAA to insure my motorcyles they transfered me to Progressive and I got a USAA discount... I have a 1950 H-D FL and a 2010 Honda Goldwing Airbag and it costs me under $500/year for both of them... Full coverage and a $500 deductible.
  11. wes0778, How are you in a parking lot? Can you drag em both at parking lot speed????
  12. The headset connector is indeed a 5 pin DIN. Why do you point out it is the same as the old PC keyboard connector?
  13. I used a water bottle holder for a Bicycle... they are inexpensive at WalMart, like under $5.
  14. I would use a CD changer IF it would play MP3 Files. I could burn six CDs with hundres if not thousands of songs each and be able to use the handlebar control unit to access the songs. But it might skip on bumps..........
  15. at least he was on a closed course as it looks like a drag race track to me....
  16. I would rather be riding the bike with the airbag. That is why I bought one just after totoaling my RSV.
  17. Go to the Tricare website and compare plans Click HERE to go there
  18. So what are World Wide Web tires?????? Or what does the Wicked Witch of the West have to do with tires?????
  19. I am thinking about an item swapping project that is stewing in the back of my slow working brain..... I am still thinking about the logistics, but to start people thinking about it, here is a small hint of what the project is: You would have to mail a package to me with somewhere between 75 and 100 small items (depending on how many people sign up) OF MY CHOOSING in it, and I would distribute the items you sent me to all other participants... In return you would receive a package with one item from all the other participants, however due to the scale of this project all participants would have to include return postage.............. I am trying to work out my items first BEFORE any of the participants collect there's so I can provide a photograph to get the excitement going..... I am wondering about where some of our active members are from. I assume there is a member in each of the 48 contiguous United States, so I need to know about how many of you live Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS). As I cannot find the FRAPPER map of members I need to ask: Who lives in Alaska? Who lives in Hawaii? Who lives in a country outside the US and what country is it and what State/Provence do you live in? Oh I might need someone to manage the participants list as I do travel for work quite a bit and sometimes I am unable to access the internet for a few days.... The only down side to this project is I will have to limit the number of participants to ONE per State/Provence so only 47 people from the Continental United States can participate as I count as one.
  20. I would like to see the rest of that video.......... to bad it was cut off.
  21. I would probally add a thermostactally controlled oil cooler first..... BUT the RSV motors are almost bullet proof from the factory.
  22. THANKS ALL I am picking up a 2010 Gold Wing, Airbag model on Monday, so my bike is getting replaced. So now to open an accout at the GL1800riders fourm. I hope to learn as much there about my Gold Wing as I have here on the RSV. Thanks for letting me play here.
  23. This is MrsSquid, masquerading as the Kitesquid. A couple of you inquired as to the performance of the jacket. I posted a couple of photos to the album mentioned earlier. I cringe every time I see the sleeve, knowing that the Cordura material is a lot more durable than my skin. As the Mr said, I had a bad tendency to not retighten the arm sleeve hole once I put jacket on, preferring to let just that much more air into my jacket. To make matters worse, I wasn't wearing gloves. I firmly believe that had I properly tightened the arm hole and worn gloves, most of my road rash would not have happened. I won't make those mistakes again. I am very happy with the performance of the jacket. I will most likely buy another Olympia jacket. Only this time I might go with a hi-vis color. Thanks for all the well wishes. BE SAFE! MrsSquid
  24. The insurance company is keeping the bike I dont have the time to rebuild it, or to part it out, so I assume they will sell it off.
  25. She did NOT snap the sleeve so it slid up near her elbow. OUCH!!!! LESSON LEARNED!!!!!!! All the gear, all the time.
