  1. I like it!
  2. I here ya! All the bikes I had before I got the RSV trike liked to be short shifted and would lug down low in the rpm range. When I got the Venture I thought this thing is under powered and vibrates a lot. Finally I realized I was lugging it to death,it just likes to have the pi$$ run out of it and all is good now! It did take a little while to get used to the RPM's
  3. Most all of the trikes I have ridden do that to some extent. But that being said, worn or cupped front tires can cause this, also loose steering head bearings . Steering head bearings need to be tighter than on 2 wheelers . There's another forum called 'Trike Talk' that I am on a lot ,you might benefit from checking that site out! Good luck with your new trike and enjoy the ride.
  4. Just my personal opinion but I think Techron works better to clean gunked up carbs! You can get it at any Wal mart or parts store. Good luck with your project!
  5. I had a roadliner before I had to switch to trikes they are great bikes with low seat heights and lots of ooomph! If you shop around you can find them at really good prices. They are fuel injected and I used to get mid 40's to low 50's mileage. Good luck with your decision! Oh by the way 113 cu.in. is allotta fun and the Harley guys can't catch it!
  6. I live in Murray Ky where the Hannigan kit is built. I have been to the factory several times with questions and to have some accessories installed and get maintenance work done. They're very helpful and knowledgeable, and they make a great product. I don't think you can go wrong with their kit! So good luck with your conversion.
  7. Sounds good to me! I've ridden that area quite a bit,it's a nice place to ride.
  8. Put me down for it if the others fall through!
  9. Cool find! Congrats I've got a few Star t-shirts but they are getting pretty worn. I have a catalog of Star merchandise from 08, I got it when I bought my new 08 Stratoliner. They were offering a ton of acc.back then, wish they still did!
  10. Mental issues are all in your mind ,so don't worry about them! Also remember this"I can do that tomorrow " you will say that a lot. I've been retired 5 yrs now, and if I had known I was gonna like it this much I would've done it 30 yrs ago!
  11. Been trying to get on it for a couple of days,no luck! Hope they get it fixed,I like that site.
  12. Sounds good! I have relatives in Akron so I'm gonna plan a visit with them and be there for the get together. Looking forward to seeing everyone and learning some tricks of the trade.
  13. Just a little update! I turned the squelch up to 20 on the CB and only get a slight buzz when I go by high voltage lines and then just occasionally. It is something I can live with now. This is the first bike I have had with a CB and it is taking some getting used to. Being able to talk to other riders while riding is nice tho. This stereo/cb is a nice unit, but takes some practice and trial and error to figure out how everything works! Thx again for all the advice!
  14. Over the years I've tried different batteries, but nothing has ever lasted as long as a Yuasa!
  15. I noticed that today also! I got a chance to ride by myself today and tried different settings on the stereo and noticed if I turned the IC volume down I didn't pick up the engine noise.
  16. Have you checked the charging system to see what voltage it's putting out? I have a voltage gauge that hooks to the battery tender pig tail that I put on the bike, but you can also do it with a voltmeter. It should be charging somewhere between 13.5 and 14.1. Do a search about charging systems on this site, there should be a tremendous amount of information! Good luck with your problem.
  17. On my 08 RSV/Hannigan trike when I use my cb near some high voltage power lines I get what sounds like a very loud bug zapper through my headset that won't turn down or squelch out, all I can do is turn it off. It seems to be mainly in town,I don't hear it much out in the country. Also I'm getting engine noise through the headsets,it's not terrible but I do notice it. I was wondering if anyone else had these noises and had come up with a fix. I have already talked to the local J&M dealer and he had no ideas other than possibly a bad ground! Also I don't notice the engine noise through the external speakers. Thanks in advance for your help!
  18. Be sure and do all the rehab,it really does make a difference!😀
  19. When you say scars I take it you had the zipper installed in your chest. I have that scar from having an aneurysm fixed and a heart valve replacement in 07,almost died,30 days in a coma,38 days in intensive care! I'm happy every morning when I wake and you will be too. I bet some of your hunting buddies will be glad to help with refilling that freezer, so just relax and heal up it'll be OK
  20. The fairing can be repaired! The front tire threw a rock into mine and made a hole about the size of a golf ball. I searched for a used one and couldn't find one, then I priced a new one and about sh!t. At that point I started looking into abs repair, there is a lot of info on the "net", but I just went to Lowes and bought some repair in a tube and so far it seems to be holding up well. When I took my fairing off there were some pieces inside and I put them back together like a jigsaw puzzle and used some fiberglass mat for the holes I didn't have the pieces for. Good luck with your repairs and if I can be of any help let me know!
  21. I actually use an I-pad so I called my son and he walked me through it. He said an IPad uses the same operating system as a IPhone, which is different than windows. Thanks for trying to help though!
  22. Sorry but I don't know how to rotate the picture, Im not very computer savvy !
  23. A friend of mine had one. Great bike! I might own one someday.
  24. I just uploaded a picture to my avatar and it uploaded upside down, can anyone tell me how to fix it!
  25. I quit the same way, had the flu, been sick all day throwing up. When my wife came home she was smoking and I smelled it and told her to get that thing away from me! That was 2000, haven't had one since and still can't stand the smell! Good luck with quitting you don't need them and think of all the money your wasting that could be used for gas and trips.
