Last year, I put the J & M 2003 Dual Unit on my 05 TD, with the new Nolan Helmets, J & M ear pieces and Roady XM - all from Sierra Electronics and had them install the speakers in the helmets. Nice people to work with. The unit(s) do what they are supposed to do - I get my music, if the passenger or other bikes talk, the music cuts out. I had the local Yamaha dealer install it. I don't believe they installed it correctly. I will periodically get tons of static. I have played around with the squelch and get this to work. Sometimes, I can't talk with the other bikes and I believe that is because of a poor connection between the helmet cord and patch cord. This year I got the Big Ear hearing plugs, so I had to buy the adaptor to be able to plug in those ear buds, and that seems to work better. My only other complaint on the unit is there is no treble/bass adjustment for the music, and sometimes listening to the 60's station, the treble blasts the old ear drums out. Having said all that, I don't know if there is another CB or all in one unit out there available for our bikes. I am going to be pulling the bike apart again in a month or so, and will look closely at how everything got wired - to try and eliminate the engine static coming through the headsets.

Dang, that is some design you are etching into that windshield.

Sounds like too much work to me, Kreg - go riding first - then do the work - you would have renewed energy :rotf:

The music is great on their site - be careful moving your cursor around, though, you might win some money :rotf::rotf:Have a great time, Ron.

That was a good read - thanks for sharing.

I have the Kisan unit from Custom Dynamics on my bike - fairly easy to install. I agree with Kit - some people don't know what these are - and might do stupid things. On the other hand, I like being seen. I am still "playing" with when I use them - mostly on the two lane roads, often on the freeway and in town. But if I am riding with the pack, I will leave them off unless leading the ride.

Hey, Don, you know the old addage - if you have to ask what the cost is, probably way too expensive for the return on the dollar.

Good one, Condor - keep 'em guessing :rotf:

Please don't forget to check out the VentureRider IV - West Coast Rally Poll going on under VR Polls. We're going to be closing that poll here shortly, and want to make sure everyone has had a chance to be heard. Thanks.

Congratulations for both of you - that is great news.

Hey, Kit - great looking bike - hope this one bring you many enjoyable miles. And as someone else said, let the chroming begin :rotf:I have seen some of those wings all tricked out - they look sharp to start - and can get really sweet with the right amount of safety features added. Enjoy those new brakes.

Getting rid of some items from my '99

Hey, Brad - sorry to see you having to go through this exercise, but it makes sense. Hey, if you think the air cleaner covers and your tool pouch will work on my RSTD (don't see why not), I'll take those. -
Hey, Ron and Linda - welcome to the Western Side - glad you have made it safely. Look forward to catching up with you guys sometime this year, hopefully.
