  3. Randy, the answer is yes. We will also use some of the monies from the pre-registration fees for this event as well. As time grows closer, I might ask that the "cooks" send me an e-mail (victortibbs@comcast.net) regarding their thoughts / requirements. Jack and I (and assistants) will be putting together the "lists" for a shopping day in Cody.

  14. Hey, Condor, good thing we haven't bought the awards yet - this COULD get interesting - heehee.
  15. This morning I got an e-mail from Owl - sneaky, buddy - asking about some basic rules for this Chili Slapdown!?!! So, to make the playing feild level - and everyone is free to chime in - here are some basic rules: PYROTECHNICS - No chili contestant may discharge firearms or use any pyrotechnics or explosives at a chili cookoff. Contestants discharging firearms and/or using explosives or other pyrotechnics will be disqualified from the chili cookoff. COOKS MAY HAVE TO TASTE THEIR CHILI - At the discretion of the head judge, chili cooks may be required to remove the lids and taste their chili before turning in for judging. (If a contestant refuses, his or her chili will be disqualified.) You can be as creative as you want in attracting the crowd and getting votes. Alcoholic beverages may not be distributed to the guests as part of the Showmanship Nudity and lewdness is banned from showmanship. Have fun with it as best you can with your clothes on. All registered teams are encouraged to ridicule and otherwise harass other teams in an attempt to make them cry. People's Choice may contain beans or other fillers. (but no dirt) No team - or cook - will start preparation or cooking before the official signal to start. Beer drinking may begin at any time. CHILI WILL BE BLIND JUDGED, BY A PANEL OF ESTEEMED JUDGES BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: AROMA- CHILI SHOULD SMELL APPETIZING CONSISTENCY- CHILI SHOULD BE A SMOOTH COMBINATION RED COLOR- CHILI SHOULD LOOK APPETIZING TASTE- CHILI SHOULD TASTE GOOD Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!!! There will be a trophy awarded at the banquet - all forms of bribes will be accepted by the judges!!
  16. As an aside, absolutely do NOT mention anything about a raffle ticket, prize ticket, ANYTHING like that. Just show it as a "DONATION TO THE INTERNATIONAL RALLY". for those pre-registering for the event (and including these trailer tickets on their pre-registration form) and sending those Paypal monies to Condor, or members sending a donation to Russ (Black Owl) for this opportunity, both of those gentlemen are very on the spot regarding forwarding me the PayPal Transaction Receipt for this opportunity. After I receive that receipt, I will either send you an e-mail (if I have that address) or a PM, acknowledging that I have received the necessary information that the monies have been received. AND, I appreciate those that are getting the forms into me (and / or letting me know in advance to be on the look out for them). Later this evening or early tomorrow morning, I will reconcile again with Condor / Black Owl - and post the remaining tickets available again (as I type this now, my belief at the moment is that we may be down to (24) tickets). NOTE: IF you are pre-registering for the Cody Rally, and are sending me a check for the pre-registration and including the trailer tickets in that check, upon receipt I will let you know if trailer tickets are / were still available. At this point, it looks like this opportunity is going very fast, and within a week or so these tickets may no longer be available. Per our original offering, only (300) tickets are available. For those needing the information on the trailer opportunity, it can be found here - http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58235 or here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58885 Thanks in advance for your understanding.
  17. This will be the "final" official countdown thread. I have asked the moderator's to "close off" the other 3 or 4 threads regarding the Cody Trailer Grand Prize Raffle for 2011. Those threads will not be deleted - just closed to additional input - so everyone is on the same page. Thanks, everyone, and good luck. As of 5/31/11 - 9AM PST, there are now 33 tickets left.
  18. OH, I did forget, it will do the tracking - so those interested could see your trek to Cody and back. I'll have mine on as well - maybe I will figure out how to set up the tracking feature so folks could follow along, whatever.
  19. It will basically work for the original intention of the product - call for help via 911, etc. That is the unit I have. They do have one or two upgrades on that product now, however, and the yearly fee is about $150.00 (if I recall correctly).
  20. A great way to share this story and lesson learned (or remembered)! Glad you weren't part of the sandwitch.
  21. Annie / Quickstep - to the !! Be safe, remember we ride on the DIFFERENT side of the road , and look forward to seeing you in Cody!!
  22. Great write up!
  23. I have used it in the past - great stuff!
  24. I hope there is plenty of beef in Cody - sure wouldn't want any additional Owls, Buzzards, or Free birds hurt in the making of this fine concoction!!!!!!!
