I finally decided to order myself a Clearveiw windshield last Wednesday via phone . I received a phone call this past Friday (2 days later) to say it's ready to ship out to me . It was shipped that same day and I should receive it on the 27th . On the website and at time of ordering via phone , I was told the dreaded 7-8 week lead time . You see , Miracles do happen or is it that I am just a nice guy ! :rotf: When I placed the order and received the phone call about the shield being shipped sooner , they were very friendly and pleasant to talk with , almost as if I were sitting on the back deck drinking a beer with them . Now that's service ! I ordered the XX-tra tall , tinted shield to help the buffering off of her head . Now , what's next to add to the scoot ? BEER30

We had the same problem , but more with the wife . So we changed our brand of shampoo and conditioner to a higher PH , giving us a more silkier finish . A cleaner and and softer scalp helped out till we got used to wearing helmets , By the way we both wear shorties and I a modular in the winter sometimes . Also carry a spray bottle of Fabreeze in the saddle bag to keep the irritating sweat and smell at a minimum . Open any and all vents if ya got'em . Also took a small peice of foam , added it to the sides just enough to widen/hold open the foam band around the helmet to allow more air circulation . This was what we did . BEER30

would you buy a RSV again?
BEER30 replied to stvmaier's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I wouldn't hesitate one bit to buy another RSV . Yes I got a little whine , and a few loose bolts . But I don't let them annoy me and I just get on with the ride . There are numerous pros versus cons that sold me . Price , warranty , dependability , style , and comfort to name a few . Had a few issues with our dealer/service guys , but you just have to know how to talk to them to get them motivated . I've more issues with my wife's $40,000.00 car than I have had my scoot . With mechanical issues , you will not find a better group of people here on the forum that will go out of their way to help out and put any Yamaha dealer , service dept. to shame . Find that with a HD , GW , or any other riding group . Finding a loose bolt or just tinkering to see how this fine piece of machinery works everyone is going to encounter . One should aways go over their scoot routinely just for safety . Knowing the dependability of the machine , turning a wrench the majority is more for adding accessories than replacing broken pieces . You are going to find a lemon now and then in just about any make and model of automobile or MC , it's just the luck of the draw . And as for one whom has had back surgery , need of having both hips replaced , nor wants his beer shaken upped either , this is the scoot for me for life as it is so smooth on the road . Take everyone recommendation here in deep thought , and if ya do get a RSV , I seriously think you will not regret it . Gene -
There are many , but just get the Zumo and be done with it . Haven't had one bit of trouble with it at all . Has mount for scoot and cage . Gene

Bobbie has that picture , but we did get RiderDuke at one of his Fuzzy moments . He was wanting a thong so , so bad ! I also have the picture of us trying to wrap RiderDuke with the shrink wrap after we tried to subdue Mini . No that's not Tim proposing to RiderDuke ! :stirthepot:

What's a party or FAMILY gathering without "BEER" consumption ! But Muffinman was alcohol free . This weekend was some of the best fun we had . During the Pink Chaps and Vest presentation at the Golden Coral , the other people outside the group shared the celebration in smiles , laughs , and request for tables dances . Later that mourning waiting for the OCVM ride to begin , Tim took a cat-nap . While he was encountering sweet dreams , the group spun his scoot a complete 180 degree turn around . There-fore facing towards the back of the line .The look on his face was PRICELESS and rendered him speechless when it finally dawned on him to see his scoot . RiderDuke will never again point out a certain person in a crowd to ask me about ! He will never know what I will do ,:rotf: . After the ride and festivities , we all of course hit the DQ . Then off to our shop for a tour of what our business does . Then back to house for pizza , beer , and Mechanic's Cherry pie ! The Muffin's left last night for home and everyone else left this mourning after having breakfast at the Cracker Barrel . Garage looks so darn big and empty after having 6 scoots in it last night . Here's some more photos' that Beer24/7 and I got . Mechanic will have more when they return home . Gene

No , Wild Hair was not sleeping , nor bowing his head in shame either . :rotf: Boy.....did we did have some . But Bobbie has them photos ! That and other things will have to be posted later . Gene

Just thought it would be easier for everyone to find as they are coming in on 17 . If they want to go to the one on 24 , it's Ok with the group already here or arriving tonight . Yes Peggy GC ! Being you were playing hard to get , you just lost out . But there is still time for you to gather your whips and cuffs and get here !:rotf: Gene

We plan on leaving for breakfast at 7:45 to G C . If anyone whom plans on attending that needs a placed to sleep here , let me know so I can make space for sleeping . So far , we are having a blast ! Yepper ! This time I'm using my drill press and some cutting earl . I'm also going to see if I can get these bolts in bulk . I can get the split rings from one of my suppliers even cheaper than Lowes . I'll check in prices . Gene

That I can do . Will have to be next week before I get some time to make . Gene

How firm does he want it . I have 1/2 closed cell foam and 6.5 mm neoprene . Gene

Let me make a fuzzy thong ! Pass it around to all the VR women and they try it on for fit . They send photos wearing it sitting on the scoot and the judges judge which has the best fit . Just like Cinderella's glass slipper (no pun intended , Cindy). Or we just take a photo minus the head , sitting on the scoot and who guess the correct lady wearing the thong wins . :stirthepot: Or just tell me I'm 3 sheets to the wind today , Beer30

I got a set of HD OEM pipes on which I will install tonight or tomorrow night . SaltyDawg gave me a set of stock RSV pipes to get the front cones off of , so my original stock pipe will remain intact and on standby if needed . SaltyDawg also suggested drilling the front baffle plate first to acquire a more suddle sound before I jump in with both feet for the loud . I first drilled 2 - 1/2 and 4 - 3/16th holes from the front . Going to get stainless steel tips today from freind in muffler shop for the slash cut or turn down , depending what he has in stock or has to order , or get both and make them interchangeabe . I'm going to play around with these pipes starting for a lower sound rather than loudest . Gene

Yes they are , I guess it's a sign of old age . But I refuse to grow up ! :rotf: Correction made . NK, I have the other bag to do , so I will get step by step pictures up as I get them . Gene

This evening I made some trunk bolts . I took the equivalent sized hexed bolts and drilled a hole in the head . Then placed a split ring (key ring) and placed it into the hole for a handle like knob .It cost me about $7.00 to make . Got all the materials at Lowes . Gene

So fast I am losing parts!!!
BEER30 replied to uthpda's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It doesn't really matter how fast you can go , if your spending more time on the side of the road looking for peices !!!!:rotf::stirthepot: Just asking , "How do you 1st Genr's calculate the speed of rhumatism ? ":225: Gene
