Eck , This petition is not just directed towards people like in our recent incident , but characterize as a general term . I had a drunk hit and run myself and my family that has affected us for the rest of our lives . Now he was a low-life and he just beat his wife and kid the day before we went to court . So saying the term "low-life"is more a general term or meant in the a slang fashion . I've had so-called responsible people at the time of incident be nice and courteous , but afterwards trying to rectify the damages , become low-lifes . This day and age of political correctness has created more controversy than the issues themselves . Even the word "Political" correctness I think is improper . What does politics have to do with it ? I think some people just call it as they see it , just like the pecan , potato , tomato issue . And to put it in better perspective , I can become a low-life if I want too sometimes , :rotf: BEER30

Same here , but my new modulator , Kisan Path-Finder has a built in switch . I just toggle the switch onto high beam 3 times to deactivate it and with a sensor , it will also turn itself off at night . Riding in a group we are more visible , therefore the threat is possibly less of not being seen . If I am in a group and asked to turn off , I will gladly abide also . But do not get mad at me if you do not ask ! Riding solo , the risks much greater , so I will accept the aid of any device that will help me be seen . Now I have been driving legally since I was 11 years old , from hardship license to present day license . I have driven more roads involving many weather and surface conditions than most here . From courteous to PO'd drivers that use headlights for signaling in many conditions , I do not recall in any hand-book that states headlight use for signaling of any sorts other than the means to see at night . Truckers have their own lingo on the road . A scoot , or cage are not truckers and flashing headlights lights towards another driver usually happen at a slower rate of speed , not at vehicles doing higher rates of speed that are attempting to make turns . At faster speeds , one would interpret that a LEO/speed trap or a road hazard is up ahead . BEER30

Ever wondered if people think you are wearing out your finger , working the high/low beam switch , flashing the lights ? More people exercise their fingers dialing them darn cellphones while driving . Do people think anymore or use common sense ? BEER30

So we have made many claims to what flashing lights might mean to different individuals . From interpretations of ," go ahead , pull out " , "I'm turning" , "emergency vehicles", "I can't tell whether is a turn signal or what ?" . The fact is , if you are not sure , remain still or be much more cautious ! You may pass one cage thinking one meaning and the next another .You yourself cannot second guess what the other person is going to do . Us MC riders not only have to drive for ourselves , but also for the other drivers among us . I can contest for 2 incidents for myself where I was side by side of a cager and they most definitely saw me face to face , but still came into my lane and forced be to take evasive measures , lights or no lights played a roll in these occurrences . So saying , no matter what you think , you cannot control the minds of others . We can only do our part by being seen or just sit on the porch like a big dog . Oh , one more interpretation to add ,"Cop up ahead ! " So why are they not slowing down ? BEER30

Hey Kit , Like you , I will not quit riding unless my body or my financial situation tells me I cannot . I ordered my modulator and installed , then ordered a "Back-off" and it will be here Monday . I also ordered a "Knight-Rider" for a third brake light for the BEERCART . I am going to do whatever it takes to be seen , for the safety of myself and my rider . Some here mentioned they do not like the modulators , but the fact is ,"They notice them " . I can respect their opinion that they do not like them as long as they respect my wishes to live . As well as us riders further educating ourselves to be better riders , It should also be considered to further educate the cagers . I haven't checked , but has anyone looked to see what the AMA or other organizations are doing to make better awareness ? BEER30

On the Zumo 550 , set your first destination , then start . Then set the next , then the next , then the next till the final stop . It will ask you at each destination set in whether it is a new destination or set as via , set it as via . I have done this with mine and not turn off nor stop the course . So I cannot say whether it will save the routes the next time you turn on the gps . Setting your course with via's on the map program on the computer , then transferring to gps will allow you to save that exact route . I have 2 gps programs on my laptop . Also a gps antenna for laptop as well . Delorme's secrete is to start , via , add to via , etc.....till stop . Otherwise it will have you going in circles between each via . BEER30

I just places a headlight modulator on my scoot last night without second thought . I have been asking the local riders in my area their thoughts about them and only one negative came about . And that was it could piss off a cager thinking that you fooled them by acting like a law enforcement patrol car . The way I look at it , I rather have cager upset at me and improve my chances of living than be not seen and be 6 foot under . In this moment of sorrow and loss , I too agree with Charley . Whether I was on a scoot or in my truck , I have had other cagers pull right out in front of me . I am just fortunate to be able to make this statement today . And how ironic , seeing this question asked and also being approached by an elderly couple today as well at the gas pumps and make comment that they saw me on the road just minutes of us meeting and they saw me more clearly than cagers with their headlights on . I told them that I just placed the headlight modulator on last night to been seen . They both agreed that I was . I see more cagers acting more negligent and always in a hurry when it comes to stop signs . I myself am not going to consider if I will give up riding . I'll reflect on this tragic to further educate myself and make more mods to my scoot to be more seen . BEER30

I sorry Hipshot , but "NO DEAL" . However I will gladly trade you Charley for that bottle of Beer ! (Eventhough I will be getting the better part of that deal .) :rotf: BEER30

Been off a scoot for over 28 years . Last ride was a Yamaha 360 RD , so it was way smaller than this RSV . I jumped on it like it was my lover and haven't stop riding it since . I didn't let my wife on..........Well she wouldn't get on till I got some miles under the scoot to get some experience . Several weeks later , she was on the back . To me , it was harder to hold the scoot up while she mounted than riding 2 up in the parking lot . I'm 210 lbs and wife is 125 lbs (playing same guys) , riding to up and puliing the BEERCART , NO Problems ! I am having my wife take the driving course though she doesn't drive a scoot , as to learn more on what a driver goes through . Eventually , she will have a trike , so getting her endorsement will come much easier and will learn more . BEER30

Dang , Am I the only one here to actually hit a real person ? Well I guess I get more points then , don't I ? Well my story was riding my dirt bike in Alaska on a dirt bike "only" trails in the state park , no joggers allowed ! Well this idiot didn't adhere to the rules and I came jumping over a gully to have this guy jogging the gully trail under me . My knobby tire on my Yamaha 500 chewed the crap out of his arms when he threw his hands up to protect himself . When I landed on the other side of the gully , I stopped to make sure he was OK . The flesh on his arms were pretty chewed up like hamburger meat and he lunged for me . He wasn't really smart at all , as I was fully dress in all my riding armor and helmet . He was hotter than a prostitute who received a bounce check ! My riding buddy whom was behind me immediately went after the park ranger . The guy was attended to medically and then to the squad car . Got charged for trespassing , assault and endangerment . I wasn't charged for self defense after he got a few extra broken bones after the accident . Critters , I just give them space as much as I possibly can . BEER30

Just realized , I think at Charlie's speed , he would be better off saddling up the two pooches and riding them . More his speed and even can get around to riding in the snow . Equip them with a small pony keg attacked under their collars . And if he falls off , them pooch's might even give him a lick on the face to revive him . But then again , his face is something them dogs and his mother would only love ! :rotf: BEER30

MamaMo , where are them Betty Boop patch's ? Need them to sew onto your chaps . I want to sew them onto the pockets before I sew them onto the chaps , so I need them . BEER30

I thought about that , but some may not want it or want something else . One of my employees has an embroidery machine , but I would have to ask her if she is up to doing the task . Another thought I had , was to sew on loop velcro swatch's onto the front of the upper bra . Therefore you can place on or remove any embroidered patch on it that you want .I can get velcro loop material up to 6" in width . Just let me know if you all want it , and I will get it ordered .
