Received my Zumo back yesterday , Brand New ! Updated with 2008 map . I even noticed a few new features that wasn't on my first Zumo . I've noticed more navigational features on the side buttons to switch to different screens and also the truck , bus , etc... variants . Now to find out how to restore all my previous info. that was downloaded onto the puter back onto the new Zumo . It may take a case or two or possibly a Keg to accomplish this task ! BEER30

I bet Riderduke would root for KU , if ever they played New England in a scrimmage game ! :rotf: BEER30

I once owned a Rokon myself . Mine has the 10HP 2 stroke PowerBee motor . PowerBee was bought out by Chrysler if I remember correctly . It also has a carb made similar to an aircraft , where you could turn the motor upside down and still run . Now they are equipped with a Honda motor now . If you do not fill the tires with extra fuel , the Rokon will also float . I crossed several rivers where the water was chest high , kept the motor running and also kept the air intake above , high and dry . Only once did I get water in the carb and fouled out . I kept extra spark plug and just removed fouled plug , turned the motor over several times to blow the water out and replaced with fresh plug and was on my way in 15 minutes . Mine had a transmission like a snowmobile . Had a centrifical clutch with variable ratio drive clutch as well . (if I explained it correctly ) From the variable ration drive clutch ,it fed from chain drive to jack shaft , split from there to a chain to the rear wheel and one to a right angle gear box attached to nut buster bar . A spring coiled shaft ran through the nut buster bar to the front where a universal joint allowed for steering ,then to another right angle gear box , then chain to front wheel . Most commonly on the right angle gear boxes , the brake rotors were located . The coils spring shaft in the nut buster bar allowed for limited slip , so it would relieve some of the wheel hop , similar to what most 4 wheel drive trucks do on dry pavement . The Rokon is not riding a regular dirt bike . It takes some getting used too , especially in the turns cause by the both front and rear drive . However they are very stable once you get used to them . For such a small power plant in them , they are very strong . I hooked a garden plow to them and have pulled a Toyota P/U out of a mud hole . Worst enemy when pulling heavy object is no weight on the tires for traction .But we got 3 of us big boys on it to get the traction needed to pull the Toyota out . They are a very useful means of transportation in heavy wooded areas . They can go where most ATV (4 wheelers) cannot go . Only downside is shooting off of them , as you have to either take the time to put the kick stand down or support the Rokon as you shoot (wouldn't recommend it ) , where as a 4 wheeler is stable as it rest on 4 wheels . They do make a street legal version as well and has top speeds of 55 mph with a 3 speed tranny if I remember correctly . They are equipped with a spark arrester muffler as well . The US Forestry Dept. use the Rokon . There are many attachments/accessories for farming , mining , hunting , and sport. And "NO" , they are not as fast as a 1st Gen ! BEER30

I just think that's pretty darn sad that you have to become lazy and make Dale do all the work now !!!! Ofcourse you can make yourself useful and have supper readily prepaired , scoot all shined up and ready to roll , cater to all of Dale beckoning as he is at work and all the other things a good wife should do . Poor Dale having to work OT so you can just piddle around and cause mischeif , good greif girl .....Welcome to the Far-Side !!!!:rotf: Congrats , even if it's temporay . BEER30

The bed measures 5' 5"long . I had no need for the longer bed , as I have a trailer . I have friends whom work for Ford . With their discount , I got about the same . I caught 3 promotions at the same time to get a sweet deal . 1) The 0% financing /0-Down 2) 120% of Kelley Bluebook for trade in. 3) + a $4,000.00 off sticker price . And too boot , I had equity within my old truck . Yeah it cost $$$$ , but at least their under warranty . I got tired of the surprise bust your wallet event son the broken down used cages . So I came to the conclusion your going to pay one way or another . I might as well expect the monthly payments , than to get ripped with the nickel and diming . Black will be hard to keep clean , But BEER24/7 will have to come to reality with a wash bucket , if see wants to look cool ! :rotf:.....Boy am I going to get in trouble if she read this . Nice looking Accord .Think we can trike it out ? BEER30

I have XM radio and I just had to try Sirius to see if it was any better , But I didn't know it was going to cost me $37K ! Unfortunately it was attacked to a brand new '08 F-150 4x4 crew cab . Well to tell the truth , $37K was sticker price of the truck with 6 months free (cough-cough) Sirius radio . And then again I didn't pay the $37K they wanted fer the truck either . All said and done , I traded in my '04 F-150 4x4 extended cab with zero down and only pay $49.00 more than my previous payment . Couldn't get Black Cheery to match the scoot , but Black with the chrome package will do just fine . Here's some picks . BEER30

Yes , I remembered to take my card out . Also I was able to download a backup of all my routes and POI's before it finally froze up . It was a Zumo 550 . Just boxed it up , placed an UPS label on it and it's waiting by the door for the guy in the big brown truck to do his thing . Now for the rest of the day is to get my computer back together , as it crashed last week and now trying to transfer all my old files onto the new hard drive . Just ain't my week for electronics ! My Zumo got sicky-poo , so it's off to Kansas tomorrow . Not to see Dorothy or the Wiz , but to get fixed . For the last several months , my touch screen has been a bit touchy or shall I say "Stucky" . Also the screens would switch to other prompts or not even respond to commands . These issues happened every once in awhile for the past few months , but I thought it was the cold that affected it . Today it was in the 70's and suddenly it froze up ..... I mean froze!!!!!! I followed every trouble shooting tip in the manual without prevail , so I call Garmin's tech support. I got my Zumo when they first came out . I've logged over 25K on it , downloading routes and other info. , keeping the memory down to a minimum . Making sure I kept up on all the updates as well . As I spoke to the nice gentleman on the phone (Garmin's Tech support), explaining what the Zumo was doing and what all I did to try to correct the issue , it mentioned that I did all that what could be done as if he had told me what to do . So after telling him my serial # of the Zumo , he checked on the registration date to see that my Zumo's warranty was definitely out , way out of date it was . The next words out of his mouth was , "Let me give you a RMA# to return the unit back to us for repair , UNDER WARRANTY!" ....WOW , I couldn't believe it as I got my Zumo back in mid year '06 . He also said that it would take about 10 days for repair and a few more days to return . They are also going to send me a new security screw that I lost out of the cradle and a new security screwdriver that I misplaced . So tomorrow , it's off to get repaired , if not replaced and at no charge . Though my cuz works as an engineer at Garmin in the avionics division , (snicker-snicker) and I didn't mention it to Garmin , I am total surprised ! And will be back in Hog-Heaven in somewhat 2 weeks from now when it returns . I hope my wife doesn't tells me to get lost now , cause I actually will now without my GPS .:rotf: BEER30

Just curious , but could one just redrill the mounting holes base plate to match the the 1st gen's hole pattern and just place it directly on top of the res. plate using long screws ? Then the switch assembly mounts to it's base plate . BEER30

My rule of thumb is ,"Is it better to have and not need , rather than to need and not have ". Or there's a Wally World right around the corner ! BEER24/7 learned her lesson last year at the Savannah M & E . Yep it was cold starting out as she knew it was fore casted to get warmer . She insisted on only taking her ski pants for warmth as we left Myrtle Beach . In Savannah coming back , I told her we need to get her some warmer clothing , but again she didn't want to listen to me . Well she froze her butt off as temps from 80* turned to 22* and all I could say to her was I told you so . Now , she carries enough warm clothes on her side of the saddle bags and a heated jacket liner and even more cold weather clothes in the BEERCART . Not taking anymore chances . Also Frogg-Togg make a great wind barrier . BEER30

No , not really bigger , just didn't have my big ole butt imprint in it yet . So it seamed a little higher . I asked the salesman if they had air in the rear shock and said it did not . They do not put the air in it until they see who's purchasing it . That's what they did when I bought mine after they seen how big I was when they did the final setup before delivery . But I do remember the seat did seam about the same when I purchased my '06 . I remember Mini saying Tim261 rear seat sat up higher on his '99 that my rear seat with sheepskin on it . But Tim261 doesn't do 2 up very much at all . So seat isn't broken in . My wife rides pretty much with me when the weather is good . Long , long time ago , I made seat caps . Extra foam tops with skirts on sides , that fell over the sides with studs for the HD clan . So actually no modifications for the seats , just adding another layer on top of that could be removed easily . BEER30

Don't you guys know anything ? That wheel choke is designed to prevent the scoot from tumbling end over end . What they didn't tell you is that you have to use bubble gum to secure to the floor ! :bang head::rotf: BEER30

I have that switch from Wingstuff . Remove reservoir cover , place on a bottom mounting plate which reseals the reservoir . The switch mounts onto plate which hinges and latches on front side and has 2 screws on backside to secure . I really like it ! Comes with fused link power cables and all wiring long enough to return back to battery . I have my LED's wired into it and have 1 switch left empty for future . 3 rocker switch's which illuminate a green light when power is on . Illuminating lights up real well to see in the daylight . I'd buy another one any day . BEER30

Go ahead and let him wear Spandex ! And then let him ride along a HD rider and say "Hi there Big Boy !" and wink . I'll think we will see a whole new attitude ....:rotf::rotf::stirthepot: BEER30
