Every time I have traveled north from Billings Montana to the start of the Alaska-Canadian Hwy , each McD's had McPoultry on the menu ! No Kidding . But then again , it has been 14 years since I traveled into Canada . So ya learned English a lot better since then ?:rotf: BEER30

Becky and I plan to be there as well . We have already received our passports already , but see we don't need them now as they have postponed the deadline . I to have been numerous times through Canada , mainly up through Calgary and up north to Alaska . You will not find a more pleasant bunch people than the Canadians except for Charlie ! The only reason I have not RSVP'd as of yet is due to our business . At work we have been extremely busy and busier each forthcoming day . It's hard to make long term plans ahead and up to now , we cannot make definite plans until that date is within a week of . But if all goes right , Becky and I will be there to annoy the heck out of all of ya ! :rotf: As far as Canada is concerned , there's no worries anyone needs to concern themselves with . It's like being here at home , they speak the same language + French . They put their helmet and chaps on just like we do . They do drive on the same side of the road as we do , again except for Charlie ! Fuel maybe a little higher , but Hey , we are on scoots .....supposeably better fuel economy from what I hear . It's not that far up into Canada and it's Beautiful up there too ! Use the international road symbols , our scoots have the metric system on them for determining speed as well . Just remember when going to Mickey-D's , it not McChicken sandwich , it's McPoultry sandwich . They do accept US $'s and the locals due know the exchange rate all so well and treat you fairly . If your not sure , hit the bank and get the currency exchange both there or on the US side . It's not a big issue ! There's nothing to Fear , but Beer30 himself ! If you are not positively sure , but still leaning towards going , at least say a maybe and show some hope for this Rally . Now do I hear a "Rally Cry " , Hey ? BEER30

Well Evil Knievel wouldn't have a problem !!! What's yours ? :rotf: Set up a cable trolley (Geronimo line) , a couple of telephone polls , some steel cable , a few pulleys (snatch blocks and a harness to connect to the scoot and then airlift that puppy across that creek ! Then it doesn't touch the water during the flood . I bet the community will help chip in , especially if they get flooded in . BEER30

What a weekend I had . Got up bright and early 3:00 a.m. Saturday to start the days event . As a member of Rolling Thunder NC-5 , I began leaving the house to meet up with another member at 4:00 a.m. to eat breakfast then to the rally point on which kickstands up at 5:30 a.m to begin our journey to Raleigh , NC . At which Rolling Thunder was invited to participate in the parade Also RT was the only private organization and motorcycle group there . NC-4 was the host chapter there and led the group ,but this also the first time that all chapters rode together as a group other than the DC ride . Other than RT being there , they did allow some High School Marching Band to attend . History was made this day , as being the largest Parade in NC to this date . There was over 50,000 spectators there to show support for our troops . As we started from the staging area unto the parade , we got the surprise of our life as Senator Dole asked to ride with us on a motorcycle . As she was wearing a business dress/skirt , it would have been very unlady-like for here to ride . So there was one member on a Scooter with a Voyager kit on it , which allowed here to ride lady-like on . It was a surprise all together , even to her aid and bodyguards and to the news group . No one expected this at all ! This was the the second and most largest parade I have ridden in . The parade was a 1 1/2 mile long and took almost an hour to complete . I pulled the BEERCART equipped with the POW-MIA and the American flag upon it . I even took one to the serviceman's daughter as co-pilot . This will be an event I will never forget . As the politicians and military leaders that were there , they expressed they wished for RT to be at all the next forthcoming parades as this will be a annual event now . Here you will the a glimpse of the BEERCART and myself . After a brief banner of days events , you will see a reporter interviewing Sen. Dole on back of the scooter during the parade . Listen closely as the main news caster comment about here and especially about NC's motorcycle helmet laws ! After the parade , we had BBQ sandwiches with the troops and got a group picture taken with the Senator . We also got to meet with some Medal of Honor heroes . On the ride back towards home (2 1/2 ride) leaving city limits of Raleigh , all the group was in the inside lane to allow traffic entering I-40 , on which a cage suddenly lost his hood . The hood just snapped off and went sailing straight up into the air about 50 or so feet , turning end over end . All I could say on the CB was "INCOMING"!!!!!!!!( I was riding tail end) The hood safely landed on the side of the road missing everybody . Though everyones heart skipped a beat , I could only imagine what the inside of that cage smelled like .:whistling: To bad I was not running the helmet cam at that time , it would have been a sight to see . I finally arrived home around 8:00 p.m. . Hope you enjoy the footage and if ever you get the chance to participate in any cause to support our troops , I can at least say the expressions and Thanks from our Servicemen/women and their families will last in your hearts for a life time . Mike , as far as I know I will be there . I will be riding with NC Chapter 5 . This will be my first run to DC with RT . I normally take the BEERCART with me on just about all overnight trips going long distance unless I am in a great hurry . So plan on me being there with my setup . Contact me prior to you leaving . There's no whistle in the mounts . They set low enough where there's more turbulence and straight wind to cut across the tops of the opening of the mounts . Besides with my Baron 4-2-4's .....what whistle ! :whistling: When on the long haul , the flag poles set on top of the BEERCART , strapped down with bungees . There was no whistle then either . Squid , you and I would be in a lot of trouble if we got together to build things . Plans for a possible 3rd pole later on where I will place it in the center . BEER30

As a member of Rolling Thunder , on which we have been invited to participate in the NC Salute the troops parade in Raleigh , NC . It has been said it will be the largest parade in NC history . http://www.saluteournctroops.org/ . Here I have mounted my flags onto the BEERCART , rather than the scoot itself . The flag poles and mounts are made of aluminum . The flag poles themselves are constructed out of 1" and 3/4" ID tubing to make combined a schedule 80 rating and still lightweight . They are 8' tall themselves . The mounts are welded to the trailer tongue . I've had the BEERCART up to 65 mph with 25 mph winds (flags rolled and covered) to see how it handled and no significant signs that they were even there . I will not be traveling at high rate of speed with them , only for parade ceremony activities . Just thought I would share this with you since I haven't shared pic's in a while and also if you can , look into this Saturday's event . BEER30

Muffinman showed me a neat trick when cleaning my shield . Stroke each motion in an up and down direction . So if any small scratches occur , the glare from oncoming headlights or suns rays will not obstruct the vision as much as swirlies will . I have the XXL tinted Clearveiw and use Lemon Pledge to clean/polish . Always use a clean micro-fiber cloth . When shield is cluttered with lots of bugs , I pre-soak with a wet towel before I clean . Give Garmin a shout . My ZUMO was way out of warranty when it took a dump and they still took mine back to look it over and sent me back a brand new one with updated maps at no charge . At least give them a chance to look it over , give you a quote for repair . If ya do not like the quote , junk it . Garmin has a good rep in treating their customers fairly . BEER30

I hate to say , only deep drilling going on is in your pockets ! Now I was a roughneck back in the early 80's . Made a nice wage at that time in South Texas . Then they started stacking rigs left and right and it wasn't for the lack of crude in the ground on which it was on the average of 15,000 ft deep . Last work we did was drilling salt domes . Translated fer you was drilling holes in a soft formation . Then fracturing the ground , pump the crude from one location and stuff it right back into the salt domes . You know like "Kicking a rock around in a circle" ! The truth to the matter , is our politicians/government want us to support the world problems , so they can get some Kudos . Meanwhile us all suffer so they look good . Now that our politicians have given all our tax dollars to other countries that spit on our faces , we are now do far in debt that we have to borrow back from them to save our butts . We have the resources , we have the technology we have the know how , we can rebuild , yeah another 6 million dollar debt every time we give a handout ! That's just about every 10 seconds ,if ya want to know . BEER30

Mine is about 5 mph off as well compared to the GPS . Which questions me about those whom calculate their MPG as I do . Obviously most RSV's odometers say we are going faster and further by stock speedo . When we stop and fuel up , some of us calculate our fuel mileage . Being we are reading more miles traveled by stock odometer compared to the GPS , our MPG is less if we calculate by mileage according to the GPS . So whom is really bragging about better performance ? :whistling: BEER30

Hilarious as all get-out ! Sorry if I did intentionally place this in the Watering Hole , but I think this Marine deserves the credit . A US Marine at a roadway checkpoint, bored to tears, talking to a Baghdad-bound Iraqi taxi driver. You have to understand Marine humor in combat-a little on the sick side, but very funny. This lad's sarcasm and cynicism is profound and hilarious. This is why the Commandant of the Marine Corps tried to have the Marines pulled from Iraq and sent to Afghanistan, because the lance corporals were complaining that they had no one to shoot at. All I can say is that I have 12" radials on the BEERCART , Muffinman has 8" Bias on his HB trailer I believe . Both of us have pulled into the 3 digit MPH and still going strong ! Larger tires has smoother ride and less spins per mile . Depending on type of trailer and suspension , width of trailer , weight (Tar and Gross) , load factor , etc..... , it's hard to say truthfully as there are too many variants to compare too . The length of the ride , type of road surfaces , total weight , wind , weather , and style of driving and how much beer your hauling , also to consider . Bottom line , I think it is personal preference with a small degree of your intent on how and what you pull . Just make sure you have Bearing-Buddies and most importantly routine inspections on both scoot and trailer . Know your limit and do not over do it . BEER30

I just installed the $12.00 HB Air Horns , 135+ decibels and still have the stock horns connected . Trumpets are mounted under the drivers floorboards and the compressor is mounted on the flat bar flange under the scoot where part of the center stand mounts too . Trumpets are temporarily mounted with zip-ties until I get some stainless steel or aluminum mounts made . The horns were red plastic , but I spray painted them a chrome color . You do not see them unless your really looking and are quiet loud . There connected via a relay which is connected to the stock horn wiring . I use the stock horn button to operate . As soon as I find my camera , I'll post pic's . BEER30

Well I have you know , I'm "Horny" as ever when my horn button is pushed now . It was just a matter of connecting the right wires to the relay . Got home and the next day it took me 5 minutes to figure it out . 135+ decibels plus stock horn as well. BEER30

Yes , there is an easier way , just buy the color you needed . As the EPA has major restrictions that constitute the chemicals used . Acid dyes are the best , or even spirit dyes as well . But the key is to dye the skins the best way without having a shiner on the rear end . Household dyes will be under the radar with the EPA and being less residue to consider . Skins are dyed at the leather processing plants .They have large Vats that do the dyeing . Even a properly treated rinse cycle to reduce the dye transfer . We just do not have the luxury of all these machinery and chemicals . As the old saying says , "I've done so long with so little , I can do anything with nothing ". If all else fails , rob your wife's black hair dye . Or "Just for Men " ..... going to wash that grey right out of my hair , gonna wash that grey right out of my hair ,............ BEER30

I've dyed sheepskin and other skins as well in the past , but not very often . Rather than typing all this out , I did a search and found a procedure very close to what I have done. Here's a C & P of that procedure : 1. Have a very understanding wife. 2. Procure the right dye. If you are not fussy and the color is right, get some liquid RIT dye from a fabric store. If you need an exact match, try your Yellow pages for “Carpet & Rug-Dyers” and find a person that does rugs and carpets; it is usually a franchise of Langenwalter Co http://www.langdye.com . Try to talk the guy into selling you some dye that will match your covers. They can mix exact colors, although it is always a crap shoot as it may not end up exact on the sheepskin. 3. Clean the covers. I simply vacuumed mine and then put them (one at a time) in the washing machine, COLD water, delicate setting, and washed them in Woolite Fabric Wash http://www.woolite.com . Do a double rinse to get all the soap out. For the final rinse, add ½ cup of white vinegar to get the pH of the wool right to accept dye. Spin all the water out that you can, then hang them up in a place where the air freely circulates to dry thoroughly in a few days. Stretch the skins as much as you can and add weights to be sure that they will not shrink. I cut a piece of closet rod the width of the skin, ran wires from the rod through the headrest holes and Hung it that way, then put a couple of gallon bottles of water in the lower section to stretch it. 4. Clean the grease from the racks and walls of your kitchen oven. 5. Get at least two (2) good quality, clean plastic sprayers (you may screw up one in the middle of the job) 6. Heat the clean oven to about 180 degrees. 7. Dilute the dye to the proper proportion. I used 10:1 ratio, although 1:20 should also work. 8. Cover the work area in the kitchen with a sheet of plastic or you will dye the tile, grout, etc. and your wife will not be a happy camper. Remember spray travels, so include the walls. If weather permits, do the job outside. 9. Shut off the oven and put the sheepskin into it to warm thoroughly for about 5 minutes. 10. Heat about a pint of the diluted dye in a Pyrex measuring cup in the microwave to 180-190 degrees. 11. Remove the sheepskin from the oven, turn the oven back ON. Lay the warm sheepskin on the protected work surface. 12. Wearing rubber gloves, pout the hot dye into the sprayer, spray the sheepskin and rub it into the wool with your hands. Cover all areas. Keep re-heating the dye. It will not work unless it is above 140 degrees. You don’t have to soak the wool, just dampen it thoroughly. 13. When you have done an area such as the seat or the seat back, turn the oven off and put the sheepskin into the heated oven to bake. This step will insure that the dye reaches the working temperature ON the wool. Let it sit for 5 minutes, re-heat the dye, repeat steps 11-13. 14. Take the finished cover out into the sun or a bright area and critically inspect it for missed areas. Spot dye them and re-bake. It helps to rub the wool different ways. 15. When you are satisfied, do a double rinse in your washer with cold water, Add 1/4 cup of bleach to the first rinse, spin dry and hang to dry. Rub while damp with a clean, white cloth to make sure you got all the dye out and re-rinse if you did not. Stretch the skins as much as you can and add weights to be sure that they will not shrink. I cut a piece of closet rod the width of the skin, ran wires from the rod through the headrest holes and Hung it that way, then put a couple of gallon bottles of water in the lower section to stretch it. Don’t put the covers back on until they are completely dry and no longer smelling like a wet sheep. 16. Clean up the area, including the washing machine, so you won’t get divorced. Household bleach should remove all traces of the dye. Clorox® http://www.clorox.com makes a kitchen cleaner in a spray bottle that has some bleach in it and also works well. Store any remaining dye in a capped jar in your refrigerator. CAUTIONS 1. This will work only for all sheepskin covers. Any cheapos with acrylic backing will be absolutely ruined by the baking process. 2. Be sure to NEVER put the sheepskin in the oven when it is ON. The heating element may catch it on fire. Just in case, have a fire extinguisher handy. I used an electric oven. If you have a gas oven and have a exposed pilot light, be careful it does not light up the wool. The dye is water based, so only the actual wool may burn. 3. If you have a sheepskin headrest cover, try that first to be sure your dye color is satisfactory. 4. If you only have a very small area to do, try spraying the area, rub it in, then heat the area with a heat gun or a very hot hair dryer, or even a halogen light to set the dye. When satisfied, use a wet vacuum to remove the excess dye and clean up so you won’t get dye on your clothes. 5. Before sitting on the dyed covers, rub with a clean cloth to see if any of the dye transfers. Good Luck , BEER30
