I'd say that dog don't hunt ! Now if you are wanting to preserve the finish , there are many methods you may use . Just setting the leather out into the sunlight will in my opinion offset the color of the leather , not darken . More info. is needed about the leather . If it's a Tandy Brand , it's imported leather , none the least and more than likely turn red-ish in color as it set out into the sun . For a belt leather possible 7-8 0z. to 14-16 oz vegetable tanned leather . It could be skirting leather , tooling leather , strap leather or harness leather for example , each tanned respectively differently . A better quality leather will not turn red-ish in color , but more tan-ish . Herman Oak leather is a top quality leather , and higher in price . Now if I knew what finish you used on the buckle (paint/dye) , I can give you more info. . But to say , I have use acrylics , oild dyes to spirit (acohol) dyes . Most you can use for a clear finish is called "Acrylic Resolene" . It's waterbased and you apply with a damp sponge . For a slightly dark finish , use "Leather Glow" and even darker "Highlighter" . All made by Feibings . Depending on how much darkness you want , apply lightly , wipe off and then let dry . For darker finish , repeat steps to desired finish . If ya want , give me a call . Here's some photo's of my new helmet in it's painting stage . Clear coat is being sprayed today and tomorrow and hopefully finished Tuesday . This is a Scorpion EXO-100 half helmet . I really like it and got it for those rainy day rides as it has a retractable 1/2 face shield . However I could not find one in Black Cherry to match the scoot and didn't want to kill another cow to cover this helmet with . So keeping in the scheme of things , here's my paint design . I did not post pictures of the entire helmet as it has NUDITY on it , but more of a form of art for most . Ghost flames with nude women embedded within them . If the moderators feel it's Okie-Dokie to post the missing portions , I will do so . Or I will post a URL for those to go too to veiw if asked . For those with vivid imaginations , the hair of the babe in front , share the hair with the babes in the ghost flame . The transition of the artwork from front to back , was engeneious ! Also to say , it cost me $150.00 for the airbrushing and the artist is the same that painted BEER24/7's helmet . That shouldn't be a problem hauling it . But that Grin-Bearing , Happy/Smirky face Louis will be wearing after he retrieves the gift will be a traffic hazard to all of those the road , as he rides home . Make sure he rides away wearing a full face helmet with a tinted lens . Them cagers do not need distractions . BEER30

I used to ride Yamaha 360 RD up to Alyeska (Ski resort in Alaska)back in the day , with 2 sets of skiis strapped along the sides and the ski boots tethered together , slung over the fuel tank . The cuz and I with a backpack full of anti-freeze/spirits would make a full day out of it . BEER30

At the age of 7 , I spent summer vacation with my Grandpa . I hadn't seen my Grandpa since I was an infant , so saying I hardly knew him at the time . My dad took me out to his workplace , he owned his own concrete construction company . Grandpa asked me if me if I wanted to work for him during the summer vacation , I said ,"Sure do ". Well the job of the day was pouring and finishing concrete . I was told to get a set of knee boards and a set of trowels . I was placed on the wet soupie concrete , being as young as I was that anything I may be doing wrong , there was ample time to fix . Later that day while cleaning up the tools , I noticed my Grandpa chewing out one of his top cement finishers . As nosy as a kid will be , I pondered over to listen in . Grandpa was telling his employee , "Anytime a 7 year old that can out-finished one of his top cement finishers , he didn't need them ". Then he turns to me and says , "If you are digging a ditch and break the shovel handle , I'll pay to get you another shovel . If you break that shovel handle leaning on it , I'll beat you silly with it and make you pay for that handle out of what pay check you do get !" What happened to hard working honest people these days ? BEER30

6:00 am , Monday , it's official that we just evicted Squidley ! So he , Lona and the Kids are heading back to Fayetteville . It's not that we didn't enjoy the company , but that "Grocery Getter / Road Sled" of Squid's had to leave . I was just about ready to call the wrecker to haul it off . So now that 4 wheeled contraction is off my property , my home value just went back up . Also to say , I notice a bunch of 1st Gen parts of the Muffin's were kinda......lets say missing ? All kidding aside , it was a pleasure to have Lona , Jen , Sal , and Brad here at our home . As well as all the members whom came over to have our usual fun . Tim , Riderduke........you two lost your deposit on the recliners and your rate will double on the next get together . Hope your stay with the druggies and hookers were more pleaseant than your usual spot here at the Beer Joint . Just thought I would let everyone know , Squid is homeward bound . BEER30
