Finally back from Montrose. Been home a few days to re-coop as it was a long exhausting week of work and play. Unfortunately did not get to ride much more after the first day due to getting shot and flying through doors, knocking them off their hinges, LOL ! Day 1 was at the range. My work sucks! Shot around 1,000 rounds of pistol and carbine. Sorry, no pics. Day 2 was even funner! We got to shoot one another. Of course using Sim rounds, never the less, they drew blood. I only got shot once in the front jaw. However doing a room clearing, I knocked the door off the hinges, topples the desk that was barricading the door only to land on top of the aggressor, knocking his Mich helmet off his head. My #2 guys lays 19 sims rounds into his side where his armor did not cover. Day 3.......Beautiful!! I play the aggressor this go around. We got to ambush the team and boy did we light them up! How I did what I have done so far amazed myself due to my hips. However the fun set in more than the pain. I managed to hike 2 miles up the side of the Mtn. to the 11,000 ft. elevation level. Yes, a shortage of breath due to do to me living at sea level. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm312/BEERCART/Colorado/IMAG0167.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm312/BEERCART/Colorado/IMAG0166.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm312/BEERCART/Colorado/IMAG0160.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm312/BEERCART/Colorado/IMAG0162.jpg While in town, I ran across this scoot, Electrofied! http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm312/BEERCART/Colorado/IMAG0146.jpg It was truly an eventful trip and looking forward to the next one in spring. I cannot show any tactical pics due to security of our SF and SWAT guys whom also attended. Colorado was beautiful to say the least and other pics that I can show Becky, my wife says she's ready for a road trip on the scoot next year rather than flying. Besides, I cannot afford getting the law call on me again at RDU. Continental Airlines lost my weapons case. Almost $8,000 of declared firearms and accessories were lost. To say, I was a little upset to say the least and gave them a concerned scolding. Though upset, I was NOT irate. Needless to say, they called the law on me. 3 Airport coppers came and then called it a since less call on the airline baggage claims personnel's part. I did get my firearms back 36 hours later delivered to my house at 5:30 a.m.. BEER30

Thanks tx. I'm on the Galaxy tab right now. Watched part of the vid you posted and quality was superb. No hesitation and streamed very well. Even did some Youtube earlier without any issues. When I picked up the tablet earlier today, 3G worked well. Hope to get to the big city to see what the 4G does. BEER30

Thanks guys for the entertainment, LOL. However, I went with the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet. Being that I already had the HTC Thunderbolt, I believe they will mate up much better. I got the 32 gig with the 30 pin/USB adapter to attach my external HD for my other programs and porn....I mean educational movies. I also went ahead and signed up for the wireless internet for on the road where no Wifi is available. Loading up all my apps as we speak. From what I gathered from all the reviews, each are very close with the droid having more candy added to the basket. Apple having the longevity and also revolutionizing the tablet world, it always doesn't mean it's the best. The features the Galaxy had more to offer to fit my needs and swayed me over to the driod side. Thanks for all the input. BEER30

In the market for a Tablet. These are new to me, so to say I'm confused. Currently I have Droid Thunderbolt and love it. Never been an Apple fan, though I never owned any of their products. Any help will be appreciated. TIA, BEER30

Arrived in Montrose, Colorado on Monday on a business trip. My buds had 2 wheels and a set of Handlebars awaiting for me. Yep a Custom HD Fatboy . After work tomorrow, a trip in the Black Canyon in Gunnison National Park. So adding another state to my list. Today, I spent the day slinging lead with other of my colleagues in the industry, along with SF and LEO's. Tomorrow will be more and Thursday, scaling the cliffs. Adding bonus is riding with a sidearm on my side and has several comments from people saying they feel safer. Imagine that........................they don't know me all that well, LOL ! BEER30

We finaly got power back on at the shop. Progress Energy sent out robo calls stating no electric till Thursday 12:45. Guess we got lucky as power was restored 3 days ahead of schedule. Still no internet/cable at home. Glad to see everyone's OK. BEER30
-
Power came back on about an hour ago. Mom's generator went south. So just got back taking mine over to her. I only have about an hour worth of cleanup when the weather clears, so it isn't that bad. Just wish the cable will come back on for internet. BEER30

Thanks Dan. Just got off through talking to Mini. Ok so far. They are merely texting to conserve batteries on the cell. Mini said she worked till 6:00 yesterday evening and then came home to run the neighborhood off! JK! I bet she is running Muffinman crazy.........:whistling::rotf: BEER30

Received Text message from Muffinman about an hour ago. No indication anything was bad. We lost power around 5:00 am. Running on generator and computer via USB connection to my Droid Thunderbolt. Other than debris in the yard and loss of power and cable interenet, we are OK. Winds were 80-100 mph. Bogue pier sustained damage, rain is consistent, but have lost satellite tv since 4:30. Been listening to the scanner, mostly utilities freqs on the air, few domestic squabbles due to hurricane parties. Irene should be right over the Muffin's about now. Hope all goes well with them, as other within Irene'spath. BEER30

So far so good here in Hubert, 28 miles from Morehead, NC . Steady/Moderate rain with one exception it disrupted satellite TV for about a minute. Winds are not bad for now. BEER30

My Mother is a wizz with Tell-marketers. She interupts them in mid drift and starts to sale them things and will not shut up til they hang up! I liked the idea myself, so I tell them I'm in the survey business myself. I tell them I will listen to them if they listen to me, but I go first. I start out by telling them that I work for Trojan Condoms. I start out asking them if they liked ribbed, lubricated, etc...... Usually all is fine until I ask them what size they prefer........................... BEER30

Everyone Be Safe, Irene isn't going to play nice!
BEER30 replied to SaltyDawg's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks George. Been here almost 18 years and had many a hurricane come right up to our front door. Out of all of them storms, watching trees fall over like dominoes across the hwy on Camp Lejuene, I've set on the front porch and only have a small breeze blow my hair. Only lost 2 tabs off a shingle, but now have a metal roof. At least this storm will give Becky and I a few days off to rest. Been busier than a one legged flea infested dog. BEER30 -
I mounted a second trailer tongue stand under the BEERCART in the rear. It serves two purposes. One as a leveler when I sleep in it. Secondly as a jack. I unhook the BEERCART from the scoot. Then lower the tongue to the ground and let the rear stand down all the way it can. Then I lift the tongue up and set the front stand down to raise the wheels off the ground. The BEERCART will teeter from left the right, so I shift the weight inside to the opposite side to lower that side wheel down on the ground, thus raising the wheel that needs to be changed/fixed. Though over 50K on the BEERCART before it's second set of tires, neither tire has had an issue. But I have practiced in the manner explained above for that just in case, repack the bearings or cleaning the wheels. The stand is lighter, takes up no space as it's mounted under the BEERCART. Serves several purposes and I do not have to worry about leaving it behind when I get one of the CRS moments. BEER30

Unfortunately NC Wildlife would not allow me to do so. I just went to the house a few minutes ago and the Bear is still laying in the yard with ants and flies all over it. I was instructed not even to move the bear last night. But if it's still there when I get home, I'm loading it up and taking it to the DOT's front doorstep myself ! If they wish to say or do anything about that, then I will invoke my Indian rights as federal law trumps state law. Bad enough they allow good meat to spoil to waste. In Alaska, people are allowed to be placed on a waiting list. If not picked up in a reasonable amount of time, the prisoners come fetch it. They should also allow the local soup kitchens to obtain the meats to help the needy. BEER30

I have the Baron 4-2-4 Nasty Boys with the family Jewels tips. I listen to the tunes with the volume set at 15 just fine. While on the scoot, they are tolerable for both wife and I. Riding behind them, I've had others differ ! They can bark if you want them too. They have baffles and to my understanding, they have one wrap of fiberglass out of the factory. BEER30

Bear just hit right in front of my house. Marine returning to base hit him with his car. Marine is OK and car was towed off to get front repaired. Bear was approx 175 lbs. and was still alive when the Marine pounded on my front door. Immediately called the State Troopers and State Wildlife. Both departments gave me to green light to dispatch the bear if it posed a threat to anyone or tried to get out into traffic. Bear died within 15 minutes dues to major lacerations at his hip. Must leave bear in the front yard until DOT comes to pick him up tomorrow. Here is a link to the Photo Bucket album if anyone wants to view. Did not post pictures here due to the nature of the wounds to the bear. Veiw at your own risk! HERE BEER30

Don't worry Bob, scooter on down to the hardware store and get yourself a "metric" Crescent wrench. Than should take care of it. BEER30 -

BEER30 replied to muaymendez1's topic in Watering Hole
LOL!!!! That's a good one! Split rings more than likely made in China, so assuming that they are metric already. BEER30 -
I too had to extend the tongue on the BEERCART. I added 16" and it pulls like a dream now. The 12" radial tire lasted me well over 50K before the tires worn out to the cords. I was lucky enough to find a tire shop at MD that carried the radial tire to replace the originals. Plus they were cheaper that utility tires from Tractor Supply. Made the remaining 2,300 miles of our trip more pleasurable. BEER30

Received mine yesterday. BEER30

Quick release bolts for saddlebags,.Ideas needed
BEER30 replied to muaymendez1's topic in Watering Hole
I just switched out the OEM bolts with hex headed bolts. Drilled a hole in head of them and placed split rings like they use for key rings. BEER30
