  1. I don't know if I mistated or you know the part as a different name but its the pickup coil, the name the dealer called it, that's with the stator that gives pulses to the ignitor/cdi. Tom
  2. I'm not very familiar with posting etc. I was wondering how to get hold of 2005 Midnight Venture Pinwall. Tom
  3. I'm sory I should have stated its a 2005 Midnight Venture. Tom
  4. Hi Does anyone know where I can get a pickup coil as I finally got my bike to a dealer and they determined that my ignition problem was the pickup coil, problem is its backordered til Sept. 30 and I'm stuck. Tom
  5. Yes I am Tom
  6. Thanks but I've checked that and there's no corrosion and the voltage is switchable. Tom
  7. Battery is good, on a variable voltage power supply charging at 1 amp. Tom
  8. I know the pickup coil is with the stator but don't know the location or where the connector is physically. Tom
  9. Good Morning I drove from Niagara Falls to Snoqualmie Wa. no problems. Wife and I got up to leave for home, I went for gas and the bike, 2005 Venture, wouldn't start. I found no spark. Tried to get it to a dealer, tried 7 in the area, all to busy to take it in, maybe in 10 to 15 days. So I started troubleshooting with few tools and less knowledge. Cranks over fine. Kill, clutch, nuetral and ignition switch ok. Diode assembly reads ok, sidestand switch ok.Manual says after all checks replace ignitor, I did, sill no luck. If I disconnect the connector to the ignition swithch with the blue/black and blue/yellow lead I have 9.75 volts on the blue/black lead which appears to come from the ignitor. When connected back up the voltage drops to .8 volts, the drop over a forward biased diode. The only one I can find appears to go to the sidestand switch, which I have disconnected. If anyone has any ideas they would be muchly appreciated as I'm getting quite frustrated. Tom
